My jaw dropped when this came up as a recommended video. This is my 6-year-old daughter’s FAVORITE, most special blanket!! Someone made it for her when I was pregnant with her, and-aside from us, her parents-this blanket has been the greatest source of comfort, warmth, and peace in my young daughter’s life; truly! The irony is that her special blanket has been so well loved that it is nearly on the brink of death (it is nearly a “velveteen blanket”), so I recently learned how to crochet to make her a new, bigger-girl blanket to “replace” the special one when it finally does meet its demise. While my daughter did choose which yarn she wanted for her new blanket, if she had known that the exact yarn existed of her special blanket, she surely would have chosen it! I almost feel like I should buy the yarn now and sneak making a replica of her baby blanket to hide away for when she has her first baby. 💕
I am not a beginner chrocheter but i will try this. I've already made a few of them. With those colors. It's beautiful. Thankyou Susan morris from hyde park in Boston
My son who is now grown learned to crochet when he was six. I am going to make a baby blanket now that you make it look so easy. :) (My grandma talking XD)
I love your tutorials. I have completed my first blanket. However, I have noticed that when I fold the blanket in half it's tighter in the middle and bows out towards the corners (hopefully, I've explained this properly). Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I want to get started on my next blanket.
This has been the most helpful tutorial I’ve seen in a while now!! I’m so excited making this blanket. Can you use a smaller yarn and use this pattern?
so..i chain 3 then go back into that space and DC, then find the stitch buried?. thats the CHAIN-3 stitch i just went into though..the only DC to go into is right next to that. this blanket is so simple EXCEPT for that part.. Am i looking at it wrong or something?
Same here. I watch video after video of his and end up ripping it out every time. I'm ready to go back to straight across double crochet because he makes it so hard for me to understand and it should be enjoyable!
hello my name is khristyreining i really like the baby blanket it's going to look real pretty ibn candy colors please come out with more candy colors and please come out with a book on baby blankets that colored
I like the pattern of this baby blanket very beautiful. Can you just remove your thumb when you explain where to put the crochet it will help a lot, specially in the first few row. All the ''that, this, here and there, etc...'' can be very confusing for some beginner. Please go a little bit slower, it will help, its easy for you because you know how to do it, just think of the person who want to make a baby blanket and have decided to choose your video the teach him/her how to do it. I am not a beginner and l found it hard to follow. It was the first time that l needed to paused, go back and trying to understand.
Hi Lydia, we're sorry you're having trouble with the speed of the video. If you click the settings button in the bottom right hand corner of the video and select "Speed" you can slow down the video speed. Watching the video at a slower speed can be really helpful when learning a new technique. We hope this helps!

is this pattern not just a solid granny square?
That's what it looks like to me also.........xo
It sure it! It took me three views of the start to dawn on me. It's a basic closed granny!
@kitkatNEF do i go back into the spot i just slip-stitched in?
I'm not a beginner and this is VERY confusing, I can't follow "this" and "that and "here"..

Horribly confusing video I’ve also watched his videos on Joann and ripped out project
Hello. This video is not for beginners.
Surely a Magic Knot is a better solution when joining yarn??? The method in the video makes it look scrappy tbh.
I wish he would slow down just a bit and maybe zoom in a little more as well was kinda hard to learn this way
And it works up pretty fast!
i've had the same problem. too tight
is this a granny square type pattern

New mothers are told not to put a blanket in a crib until a baby is a year old, so I will try this but bigger.
Dude! Your hands are in the way! You are not showing where the stitches go. And what corner? This is a circle? Please show your work.

I just wish your hands wasn't in the way, like your thumb. Love the pattern.
