  • Hello! For this video I made a baby blanket in the shape of a star and I loved it so much that I am so exited to share it with you all.
    www.hobbylobby.com/Yarn-Needl...
^^ This is the Yarn that I used for my project and I used a 4.5mm hook so keep in mind that any changes that you all make to the material or to size of hook will change the outcome of how your project looks. But also don't be scared to experiment!!!
I would love to hear how ya'll's projects turn out so please let me know in the comments : )
    And as always Happy Crocheting!!!

    *round 1* 0:45
    1. magic circle
    2. 20 dc into magic circle (for me this only allowed me to make 4 points, if you have the same problem try 25dc!)
    3. pull together
    4. ss into 1st stitch
    *round 2* 3:18
    1. sc into 2nd ch from hook
    2. 3 dc into 2nd ch from hook
    3. ch 3
    4. 3 dc into same stitch
    5. sc into 2nd ch from hook
    6. repeat steps 2-5 until you have all 5 points of the star
    7. ss into the very first sc
    *round 3* 7:46
    1. ss into next stitch
    2. dc into the next two stitches
    3. 3 dc into ch3 space
    4. ch3
    5. 3 dc into ch3 space
    6. dc into next two stitches
    7. skip the two stitches closest to hook
    8. repeat steps 2-7 until you get back to the beginning
    9. ss into the very first dc
    *round 4* 14:23
    1. ss into next stitch
    2. dc into same stitch
    3. dc into next 3 stitches
    4. 3 dc into ch3 space
    5. ch3
    6. 3 dc into ch3 space
    7. dc into 'same stitch' (15:42) and next 3 stitches
    8. skip next 2 stitches
    9. dc into next 4 stitches (after the two skipped)
    10. continue on with the pattern (3dc into ch3 space, etc)
    *changing colours + round 5* 18:02
    1. ss to join the end of the last round
    2. yarn over + pull through with the new colour
    3. slip stitch into same stitch
    4. dc into each stitch (6 total)
    5. 3 dc into ch3 space
    6. ch 3
    7. 3 dc into ch3 space
    8. skip the next two stitches + continue on with the pattern, finish round with ss
    *round 5+*
    1. ss into next stitch
    2. dc into the next ... stitches (in each round, the total dcs needed before you dc into the ch3 space is 2 more than in the previous round, for example round 4 = 6 dc total, round 5 = 8 dc total, round 6 would = 10 dc total, and round 7 = 12 dc total)
*whilst crocheting my star, i noticed that past the rounds shown in the video i kinda stopped keeping count of the stitch count, so you don't really need to keep an exact count once you get the hang of the pattern

    • @nightm1me
      @nightm1me 11 месяцев назад +5

*for the first dc of round 1 + 3, you can substitute them with ch2 like i did if you can't figure out how to do it

    • @nightm1me
      @nightm1me 11 месяцев назад +3

@@ashlyn612 no, i meant that the total stitch count per side of each point on the star grows by two dcs every row :) (i edited the original comment to explain it better, hope that helps! when i wrote it i was honestly struggling to put the instructions into words cause it was kinda confusing😭)

I want to like this video, but I've tried several times to start this, and it doesn't seem to matter what size hook I use, I always end up with either a large hole in the middle, or bunching, making it look like a butthole🤷 I've never had this problem with other star shaped designs. luckily I'm pretty good at freehanding most things. I do appreciate the effort put into the tutorial.

How many rows did you guys do for your blankets? I’m not sure if I bought enough yarn, I want it to be a bit bigger than a throw blanket

Thank you for this tutorial. It is very easy to follow you. Is there a written pattern? I am trying to follow written patterns. Thank you.
