I have also tried at least 3 other tutorials and I just couldn’t get it. The edges were all ruffled and it looked so funny! I came across your tutorial. It was super easy to follow and straight to the point. I saved it in my favorite crochet patterns list on RUclips. Thank you so much thanks to you I’m making an orange and multi-colored blankie. Love this keep up the good work you’re a natural at teaching! 🧡

This is the clearest instructions I have come across: I've now watched 5 YT videos on how to make this 5 point star, and this is by far, the most well understood, despite the planes overhead. I am now on Round 5, and I can go from here. Thank you!

I'm a beginner, relatively new to crochet, and this instructional video was so well done, that I mastered the star EASILY! Thank you for explaining it in simple terms, without fancy-shmancy lingo, and showing your works in steps that were easy to follow, and not a lightning-quick blur! A+

I wanted to thank you for doing this video. I have watched it many times, as I am just learning to crochet. I have been doing a lot of sewing, but I wanted/ needed a new challenge because I have been sewing the same items over and over, so I was getting bored. Also I chose crochet because I can take it with me and do it when I'm waiting for an appointment or watching TV. I found your video very good , easy to follow, with a lot of explaining how and why you do what you do and when you do it---Thanks again, Cathy.

Excellent tutorial and teacher. Love your voice too. So easy to follow you. I'd no problem at all.Seen in the comments someone asking how you'd make this star into a square. Big challenge to do that although it would make a beautiful centre piece. I'm half way through my star and it's perfect. Thank you so much for your precious time to show us. Very much appreciated. It's the only star I could follow.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! A friend asked me if I could make a baby blanket shaped like a star, and this is only the second major thing I’ve crocheted, so I’ve been trying to stumble my way through written patterns. But finding this video has been so helpful because you’ve made the instructions very clear & understandable, and I feel much more confident going forward!

I'm a beginner level when it comes to crocheting and knitting, I don't have a very extensive collection of yarn either, so it's crucial I find an easy pattern to practice with. I didn't wanna do just a plain rectangular single and double crochet blanket, I wanted to do something I can look at and smile at :) So finding this easy pattern was a total blessing

I had to slow it down just a tad and pause a few times but I followed along well other than that. I tried about a dozen other videos before I found yours and I was sooooo confused! You explained things so well and it turned out not to be nearly as complicated as the others made it seem! I like that your hand isn't blocking your stitch work either, overall it's a 9/10 from me!

  • @Ladyluckdoubtable

This is a really good explanation of this pattern, and yours looks amazing, too. I love that you are going at this pace, too, after explaining what you're doing: it makes it much easier to understand rather than getting distracted as I have with others who've explained this one.
Also, I LOVE your accent... and your star tattoos are really cute... especially relevant to this pattern. ;)
