I love the geometry & mathematics of crochet. It is the only geometry & math I have ever been good at! I can't believe how simple making such a sophisticated pattern is!

I have spent the whole weekend watching videos crocheting round and star shape baby blankets, your video is far superior to everything out there! Your camera angles are perfect and you do a great job talking us through stitches, placement etc. Thank you so much! I look forward to checking out your other videos!

Honestly, I thought this would be too hard. A ripple in the round... ouch. But it turns out, this is THE best video I've found so far. Like, ever. I've been at this a few years, and I'm disabled, so I've watched a ridiculous number of videos on a large variety of patterns... it's saying a lot. Your video is clear, you explain things very well, you are quick and cut to the good parts. I also adore the way you talk about how the pattern really works, instead of just giving instructions. I learned this so much easier than I had expected and because I understand how it works, I will have a much easier time remembering it in the future. I'm very much looking forward to digging through your library. Many thanks!!

Thanks so much for this very easy to understand star blanket. I have attempted to make star blankets from other tutorials but yours is by far the easiest for me to understand. Your star blanket is a "no fuss" and relaxing to work up as crocheting should be cause you explained everything and did not go too fast!

I am so glad I found you!!!!!! Since my mom passed away, I have not been able to learn crochet, which she was unbelievably good at. My daughter is expecting her first baby and I wanted to pass on a blanket that would be homemade, like my mom would have done. I started last night on this and I can not believe how well it is turning out!!!! You are incredibly easy to follow (and re-follow, re-follow, re-follow, well, I'm sure you get the idea of how many times I would need to stop and start!) But, I am amazed that I am able to do this. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!!!!!!! You have a follower for life!!!!!!

I followed your video and learned how to make a granny square. I am now making squares for a charity. However when my 12 year old granddaughter saw the squares, she said she would love a small blanket to cuddle up with. I looked at your blanket videos and found this one. I am following your instructions row by row, pausing the video until I catch up! I am loving it. I bought some lovely multicoloured wool, turquoise, pink, yellow and white which should go down well with a teenager. I was previously a knitter but now I have arthritis in my fingers and can't hold knitting needles very well but am really enjoying crocheting. Thank you for your entertaining videos. They are brightening my day.

Hey Jayda, just wanted to let you know, I was having issues advancing past row 7, when I started at the peak, because my stitches were shifting between the peak and valley, causing an extra stitch or a lost stitch. Reviewing your video, I did find a solution. I am using row 5 to advance through the rows and it is easier for me and the stitch count for each row is remaining correct. The waltz effect of the pattern, for me, is easier to follow. I am finally advancing through the pattern on row 16 without issues. Wanted to share this tip, in case anyone was experiencing the same issue. Thank you for the pattern, my blanket is turning out great.

Hi Sofia! We repeat rows 7, 8 & 9 to affect the increase. The increase happens on 2 of the 3 rows to avoid having it increase in size too quickly thus making it ripple and curl 😊 It's math magic!

Now I sit here in my office and I keep thinking about the blanket sitting in my yarn bag. I think I can hear it calling to me...Lisa.....you know you want to work on me....Lisa....it will be fun.....then the other voices in my head yell at it to shut up. Kidding. I made this blanket a few years ago for one of my kids. When I finished the blanket and showed it to my mother in law, she gasped! She thought it was so beautiful! That is saying something because she doesn't show excitement. :)

Can you share how you did this with the bernat baby blanket yarn? Did it start to buckle? I have tried other patterns that are not clear and don't work. This seems so much easier. Thanks.

Hi Linda! We who try cannot be labeled dummies :) It's a really fun pattern once it gets stuck in your head, I've made a few of these and it's one of those patterns that I just keep coming back to :)

Linda Shook I totally agree. Her way of teaching is simply the best. I'm a loom knitter, that's what I started out doing and my mom has been crocheting, sewing and knitting (needles) since she was 8. I've tried videos on youtube and their videos either have an audio issue or they mix us and UK terms which makes it confusing. Not at all knocking them. She is just so friendly I guess that's what makes her videos such a joy to watch.

I often wonder if you guys keep what you make online or give/sell them. I'm using a thinner yarn as I couldn't find a thicker baby yarn here in Australia like yours so smaller hook too, might end up with 9 or 10 rows of the 4 rows of colour. Thanks again, I'm rather new to this and it's extremely helpful having someone show you how. 😀
