Mikey I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful tutorials you create. I recently took crocheting up after 20 years, I had a hard time reading patterns. that's why I stopped crocheting, I didn't have anyone to teach me, so I got frustrated and quit. Now that we have this wonderful thing called the internet (lol) I can watch you do the stitches and BAM it's like I knew how to do it all along. You are so special and so wonderful I just adore you! Happy Hooking!

Thank you Mikey, for combining this all into one video. Even though I have made MANY of these stars, when I go on Hiatus from crocheting I always have to come back and take a refresher course. This video is so much easier to follow then the series of videos you have for this same particular pattern. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

This looks soooo hard but it's sooooo not! I just learned to crochet about 6 months ago, and I haven't had any trouble making this. The pattern is very forgiving! I've had to add or subtract a stitch here and there, but you can't tell! You're a great teacher!

I just wanted to thank you so much for this tutorial. I learned how to crochet a long time ago, but could never read a pattern. This tutorial enabled me to finally crochet somethign besides scarves and simple blankets. I made a few little mistakes along the way, but I am hoping no one will notice ;) all in all the project came out great. Thanks again.

HOLY COW - Thank you so much! I'd been trying to make a neat baby afghan that begins with a star, working off written instructions to build the star. The instructions had me completely bewildered for a good week; when I finally got it right I found that the star just really didn't come together correctly. This video makes it super logical, and I love that newbies (like me) can pause and work at their own pace. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Thanks!!!

Thank you, Mikey! This video is much easier to follow then your series of videos containing this same particular patters. Even though I have made MANY of these, when I go on hiatus from crocheting, I always have to come back and take a refresher course. Compiling your series into one video makes it so much easier! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

For the last 2 days i have been wanting to learn flowers and was able to grasp that within an hour. so just a few minutes ago i decided that i should learn stars (knowing that my 2 boys would not be happy with flowers... hee hee); within minutes i had it!
I love the "power of 3" count, it makes it easy to do from memory!!!
    thank you so much :)

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I bought a stripes yarn with red, white, and blue and I knew I wanted to use it for a center piece for the 4th of July. This Star is perfect for it and it came out so beautiful. The patterns for this were too confusing, as you mentioned, you made it so clear and simple. Thank you very much.

  • @TheWICKEDWOMAN

I've basically been a granny square crocheter, not adventurous but these videos really make me willing to at least try. It took several attempts at this but finally the light bulb went off and I "got" it. Once you get get to where you are doing 8 and up, that hidden stitch isn't so hidden and it gets very easy. I'm using a variegated cotton yarn, just trying to use up a leftover cone and I'm going to be very proud of this piece...hoping for a nice child's blanket.

I love this pattern! I’m a newby at crochet and I think Mikey’s instructions are excellent. He goes slow enough and explains everything very thoroughly. I’ve made about 6 of these in Christmas colors and gave as friendship gifts to my crafting friends. I made them about 15 to 28 inch diameter, a perfect size to set a tabletop Christmas tree on, a candle arrangement or a trio of sparkling angels. I would love to share a PIC!

Thank sooooo so so so muuuuuch! I have been trying to crochet a baby blanket for a friend and it is waaaaaaaaay overdue. My friend had her son in September, but anyway, I was doing a typical straight, rectangular blanket and I think it's hideous but I could find anything appealing or easy to understand. YOU are a lifesaver, I can't wait to start this project!

hello....yes you sure can.... Use any yarn you like and change the hook sz if you want too....the paper band around your yarn will tell you the best sz hook to use with your choice of yarn.....keep in mind that because your using thinner yarn and a smaller hook your star will be smaller and you may need to add extra rows to get the sz you want.... hope that helps cathy @ the crochet crowd helpdesk :)
