I thought Oakmoss was eliminated and restricted from use in nearly all fragrances a decade or more ago because of it being such an allergen for some people. Many fragrances were reformulated because of it and some fragrances DNA, projection, and longevity were permanently affected and altered because of it. I know there are various alternatives, and some countries or small perfume houses may not abide by this. But from what I understand, all of the major houses that produce worldwide sokd designer fragrances, aren't using actual Oakmoss and haven't since roughly 2010-11
All I smelt was just another blue frgrance to my untrained nose. The strength was decidedly weak on me too but I do appreciate I was wearing it in the middle of Winter. Maybe my preference is now moving away from safe fragrances now and time to move to some more characteristic scents?
I went to the store for a second time to try it today. Just to walk around with it and experience it throughout the day. I actually very much agree with Aaron... it's just too metallic, sharp and kind of bitter. It really doesn't speak to me... even though I really wanted to like it... hence I went to try it again. So this is not for me... but a different YSL scent that I REALLY dig is La Nuit De L'Homme Bleu Electrique... now that one is lovely!

Super long lasting, got a spray at a mall on a test strip on a sunday. At wednesday morning it still has a hint of the perfume left that you can detect. This fragrance is fresh but also has a couple of sweet notes that makes it very long lasting.
Please review the new Ysl Y Le Parfum. I saw reviews that the dry down is much better and it is darker with tonka and lavender notes. Interested to hear your expert opinion on it. Thanks for all of the insightful reviews.
@@saycheese2162 It’s true. You can even throw in all the L’Homme flankers as well. I’m not trolling, either. Not a lot of wins for YSL lately other than Y edt & edp sales. I’m only referring to men’s releases; Libre did big numbers recently, and Black Opium has always been a hit for women.
This fragrance gave me the most amount of compliments in such a small time BUT, I couldn’t stand it. It was a chore to wear for me. I stopped wearing it for people . I got rid of it so to being so screechy and artificial .
That was over a year ago. I was nervous and had zero confidence in my abilities. Being dyslexic I can mix words up. I might say green and mean blue. Then correct it. But since then I feel 99% people on my channel are very nice and supportive. The next three reviews were filmed a week ago. I feel relaxed, calm and happy and I think it shows. Thank you for the nice comment. Have a great evening
This post is ironic, this is the current fragrance I am falling absolutely in love with! It smells like the vintage Bath & Body works Juniper breeze; green, fresh, fruity, uplifting, sexy. Uplifting scents/ & sage notes are my favorite 2 smells other than mint. I LOVE how nothing about this smells harsh & metallic like these other blue scents. Amazing fragrance. Spring clubbing scent for sure.
This fragrance is absolutely one of the best designer fragrances. Projects like a godly beast on me. I can spray in the morning and it will project all day AND cuts through bad smells. I’m a first responder so I have to have something that cuts through peoples smelly homes, stinky nursing homes, dialysis clinics, partners random cigarette breaks (which I hate with a passion). Lol. This fragrance does it all for me. I don’t have a signature scent but it is definitely top 5 pick if I want to make an impression.
I accidentally left this fragrance in my car's glove compartment for 3 days so it's been exposed to probably north of 150°F/65°C temperatures. What compounds within the perfume have been compromised and what impact would it have on the scent? Thanks
Fantastic review dear Aaron, I received it as a gift and don't have projection ,maybe 30 minutes on my skin and stays as a skin scent for 5 hours but much more on cotton shirts, like 9 hours but I don't like the synthetic bitterness in it ,I change it with a friend against a cheaper but delicious and lasting fragrance :Toy boy from Moschino.👍🏆
Hi Aaron! Nice take on this fragance. The new version of Ysl Y its the Le Parfum version. Aaron, one question, you have a collection of fragances by your own brand ATH. I want to buy one fragance of your brand, i want a fragance that be for a gentleman, masculine, seductive and the smell its like Psichology. " Emotion in a botlle". Select one of your brand and give me the link for the purchase, and i will buy it. Let me know your feedback. Take care Aaron, and Regards from Portugal. 👍👌
Yo Aaron, will you be reviewing any Bond No.9, Mancera or Tiziana Terenzi fragrances in the future? They’re “pricey” so I’d love to hear your take on them - and I’m sure many others would too. Thanks dawg!
People talks good about this line, especially the edt and Y live, and edp, too. Y live seemed very youthful, fruty once I smelled it. But sometimes you want something happy and shiny to put on, less serious. Liked very much the review.
As a girl, I agree with too sharp. So sharp it pierces through my nose. Compared to this the neww Y Le Parfum has less sharpness, but lacks personality. Doesn't wow me. Still want to smell La nuit de L'homme EDT and the new Bleu electrique. And Guerlain's homme idéal. Want to give one as a present. By now Bleu de Chanel EDY was winning, but it didn't last, so the EDP is on my list too smell. Oh, and Bentley Intense.
Hi Aaron, thank you so much for your reviews. I'm just starting out in perfumery and I've made my own fragrance, but the longevity is poor. I noticed you mentioned something about acetates being used in this perfume and the longevity on this is at least decent. Could you direct me to some kind of Aroma chemical that smells citrusy like lime, yet has a really good longevity?
I just answered my own question by listening more carefully to your video about the terpineol. You said it smells why me and that's exactly what I'm looking for thank you
Longevity and projection are linked. Its the hardest part of my journey. I get an initial idea down and spend the next 6-12 months changing one thing at a time. Trying to balance the longevity to projection. Its a constant battle I face. If perfumery was easy. The world would be full of perfumers. I would start reading about raw materials. Then buy them in and try them out. You need to figure out from direct experience what works and why. That way if there is a problem with a formulation you can correct it quickly. Learning from people only takes you so far. The rest is made up of direct learning and thousands of hours of learning from yourself. My personal ethos is. Do perfumery every day. Even an hour to begin with. But just do it. Don't give up. Don't listen to others. Never read about yourself. Just focus on what you want to do and do it.
Try to make you work If you love her honestly, I know you'll be able to master it over time And maybe we'll see your perfume coming in the day that most people and perfume like it and perhaps it's in Mr. Aaron's channel
This is too strong in terms of projection and last a very long time. Seldom wear it because it's too much for me. I'd go for one spray only (maybe half sprays on each inner forearms) the next time I wear it if that ever comes up.
The one im working on. But when we go out in May after covid the one im working on for may release. But if I was to ware a fragrance for my pleasure I lone my Homme, Onyx or Boss Bitch

I will be happy to see the review of Versace Pour Homme or Prada L`Homme edt :) people love it and i wonder what you think about that perfumes.
Please review the new Ysl Y Le Parfum. I saw reviews that the dry down is much better and it is darker with tonka and lavender notes. Interested to hear your expert opinion on it. Thanks for all of the insightful reviews.
YSL has a tendency to create nothing but great fragrances, some better than others but all good.
Almost all the La Nuit flankers are shit house
@@saycheese2162 It’s true. You can even throw in all the L’Homme flankers as well. I’m not trolling, either. Not a lot of wins for YSL lately other than Y edt & edp sales. I’m only referring to men’s releases; Libre did big numbers recently, and Black Opium has always been a hit for women.
@@scottpiper213 Opium Pour Homme is a banger as well if you dig vintage scents
@@scottpiper213 What are you talking about ? L'Homme Ultime is a absolute Nosegasm.
Great 👍🏾 review Aaron, this is one of my favorite fragrances.
Aaron please do a review on YSL Y Le Parfum. I never buy fragrances until I see how they get rated by you! 🙂
This fragrance gave me the most amount of compliments in such a small time BUT, I couldn’t stand it. It was a chore to wear for me. I stopped wearing it for people . I got rid of it so to being so screechy and artificial .
I totally understand that.
Why blind buy?
Just watched the video with perfumer rates my favourite aftershave with fragmental. You have grown in soooooo much confidence. 👏👏👏
I really enjoy this, and I have received some compliments with it. But like you said I think it comes down so much to personal preference.
Hey Aaron, can you review any of the Argos Fragrances?
This fragrance is absolutely one of the best designer fragrances. Projects like a godly beast on me. I can spray in the morning and it will project all day AND cuts through bad smells. I’m a first responder so I have to have something that cuts through peoples smelly homes, stinky nursing homes, dialysis clinics, partners random cigarette breaks (which I hate with a passion). Lol. This fragrance does it all for me. I don’t have a signature scent but it is definitely top 5 pick if I want to make an impression.
I couldn’t cope with your job. My nose is so sensitive
@@AaronTerenceHughes 😂 me neither
I definitely agree with his last statement about this perfume, fragrance is terribly irritating to the nose after a few days of use
I accidentally left this fragrance in my car's glove compartment for 3 days so it's been exposed to probably north of 150°F/65°C temperatures. What compounds within the perfume have been compromised and what impact would it have on the scent? Thanks
I have more than 175 frags . More then 110 is niche but I really don’t understand why this is one of the most complimented frag 😂
What are your top 10 complimeted ones or top 5?
I find this a modern take on a 90’s classic being Original Hugo Boss, easy to wear and very summery.
Do you think it would be too overpowering for school
I tried this on in a store and could easily still smell it the next day so for me the longevity is good.
Hi Aaron thanks for the review. Can you review Xerjoff Casamorati Italica?
Fantastic review dear Aaron, I received it as a gift and don't have projection ,maybe 30 minutes on my skin and stays as a skin scent for 5 hours but much more on cotton shirts, like 9 hours but I don't like the synthetic bitterness in it ,I change it with a friend against a cheaper but delicious and lasting fragrance :Toy boy from Moschino.👍🏆
Will you review Ysl Y Le Parfum? ❤️
one of the best blue scent in my opinion, beter than sauvage, slightly better than bleu de chanel, with great performance
👍👌
What fragrance notes do you like
I like the notes of, Bergamot of course!, and i like a lot the notes, cardamom, íris, vanilla and amber.
Thanks for the comment!
This or Sauvage EDP for winter?
It projects quite well and I get great longevity, around 8 hours. Women like it, in my experience.
Yo Aaron, will you be reviewing any Bond No.9, Mancera or Tiziana Terenzi fragrances in the future? They’re “pricey” so I’d love to hear your take on them - and I’m sure many others would too. Thanks dawg!
No for bond number 9. 😊
People talks good about this line, especially the edt and Y live, and edp, too. Y live seemed very youthful, fruty once I smelled it. But sometimes you want something happy and shiny to put on, less serious. Liked very much the review.
When we´ll have your take on Y Le Parfum?
Hi Aaron 😀
The video is 8mins long
But, how long does a full review take from opening to drydown in real time
Can you review the newer YSL "Y" Parfum black bottle
I like these reviews. Highly critical
Try to make you work
If you love her honestly, I know you'll be able to master it over time
And maybe we'll see your perfume coming in the day that most people and perfume like it and perhaps it's in Mr. Aaron's channel
This is too strong in terms of projection and last a very long time. Seldom wear it because it's too much for me. I'd go for one spray only (maybe half sprays on each inner forearms) the next time I wear it if that ever comes up.
Agree, its way too strong
I think you would enjoy Le Parfum more since it has a woody/creamy base.
By far the best reviewer! Please make Boy by Chanel!
Are you doing to do Y Le Parfume?
Aaron, if you could only wear one scent what would it be?
The one im working on. But when we go out in May after covid the one im working on for may release. But if I was to ware a fragrance for my pleasure I lone my Homme, Onyx or Boss Bitch
Should have a vocal training course
I think this smells great but as it dries down it gets a bit too sweet for me and makes me feel nauseas
Can you react to Armani code absolu?
Is it still possible to send samples to review a fragrance?
You have great, what i like to call "radio voice",so easy and pleasant to listen.
YSL Y Edp is one of my favourites, and i get grazy good performance out of it🔥
Newbie here so I'm potentially very mistaken but are you reviewing Y Le Parfum or Y EDP?
Looks like Le Parfum.
Follower and subscriber.
Love your reviews 👌
It’s the edp
The Le Parfum in this line is much more natural smelling and beautiful to my nose. It goes on for days on my skin, leaves a bubble but doesnt project however, quite a big deal for most fragrance afficionados.
Projection & longevity are crazy gd on this y edp. Waiting ur take on "ysl l'homme Ultime" (the best from ysl imo) which for strange reasons is getting discontinued
It already is discontinued. Maybe not in other countries, but for US I see it has been :(
@@r3sianon975 the ones u can still find are the stock left, untill the stock is over, but discontinued worldwide not just US. Such a bad call from ysl.
I have a 2021 batch 200 ml and it doesn’t last at all, doesn’t perform like how everyone says, does smell good but didn’t get the effects like how everyone entitled it to be, bought mine from ysl
I got a 22 batch at Ulta this year. Smells good to me. Imo some need to chill on the shelf for awhile. It is a very sharp/crisp scent in the opening. Bitter/metallic,bubblegum-ish.
I have 2 scents that smell infinitely better 5 months after I first sprayed them and took them out of rotation. Armaf sillage and cedrat Boise. The opening really chilled out on the armaf and the cedrat Boise smelled much richer/deeper now.
But my ysl Y EDP has remained powerful since day 1. I actually bought it in late July and 4 sprays is entirely too much for summer.
@@Seasniffer1969 I bought my 200 ml through Ysl and it’s not potent at least I don’t think it is at all btw I also have a 2019 batch and that one is super potent like 3 sprays goes for 16hrs + but my 2021 doesn’t last, either that or maybe going anosmic
@@iFrankie. you’re definitely going nose blind try switch to another fragrance and come back to this after a few weeks/months
