There are three Chanel I absolutely love: BDC Parfum (my favorite Chanel), Platinum Egoiste and Edition Blanche. I have those three along with BDC EDP and Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme which I also really enjoy.
How's the performance on the edition blanche?
@@BBrown-km5mi I'm pretty lucky with fragrances. Even ones notoriously deemed 'bad' performers' go at least get 6 hours on me. Edition Blanche gets me around 7-8, but for me that's more than enough cause it's one of the fragrances I almost exclusively use for evenings out.

I own all of those too except I have the BDC EDP. Chanel is the best designer house.
Parfum is incredible! I hate that it gets so overshadowed but I’m glad because I can still wear that BDC DNA while standing out a bit
Finally bought it yesterday after trying it a couple weekends ago. I tried to hold off cause I have the EDP, but finally broke down. It's amazing!
Why do you hate it getting overshadowed? It means that less people are wearing it, which makes it even more unique and better to those who know!

I went through a bottle of the edt and loved it, bought the edp but I’m a bit underwhelmed if I’m honest, it smells nice but doesn’t appear to have great performance on my skin. The note breakdown of the edt and Parfum looks more interesting to me so
I’m tempted to pick-up the Parfum still, I have read comments saying it doesn’t smell much different to the edp and not to bother though?
Platinum Egoiste is my favourite, powerful notes restrained by coolness. Timeless and beautiful, it’s perfect for any occasion.
I've been wearing Egoiste Platinum since the 80s. I was a bit young for the fragrance but was in an industry where I had to somehow project a more mature persona. Chanel's reformulations of Egoiste Platinum have been surprisingly consistent. In fact, my most recent repurchase was in early March this year.
I'm single semi retired and in my early 50s so Egoiste Platinum and I are like a very successful and happy married couple. I have some "platinum" in my hair to correspond to Egoiste Platinum's vibe.
For compliments I noticed under 30 females tend to appreciate it but where it really performs is with women over 30. Men too have complimented on how clean sophisticated I smell.
Two months ago I was attending a conference in Paris. The senior director of the firm was a very elegant French lady in her early 40s. During the luncheon break at a nearby restaurant the senior director announced she had decided to join the joint venture I was representing. I asked what had changed her reservations about partnering with a us. She said our proposal was excellent but the deciding factor was personal. Then she leaned in closer to me and said "You're wearing Chanel Egoiste yes?" When I nodded she then said How can I say no??l

Also picking the best from Tom Ford's private blend summer lines fragrances: (Mandarino di Amalfi, Neroli Portofino, Sole di Positano, Fleur de Portofino, Costa Azzurra, Azure Lime)
I do like Chanel Bleu Edt it last good amount of time for work or going out, stays on clothes next day, smell is great, not strong as you mentioned. Price is great too.
This is a great video. My first Chanel purchase was the original Allure Homme, way back in 1999. It was a powerful EDT back then. I have all 3 concentrations of BDC. The Parfum is a masterpiece, imo. It’s so beautifully blended. I tend to reach for this one when I’m smartly dressed.
Allure Sport Aux Extreme has that edgy “come and get me” vibe to it. It’s a compliment magnet, in my experience.
Chanel is a master. I haven't found one I don't like yet. I would have put chanel platinum egoiste as well love it. Bleu parfum is my favorite out of the 3. Great video man

Iam still waiting for you to try Allure Homme Sport EDT...not sure if you would like it more then Eau Extreme but i decided that iam iam selling all my 7 fragrances and buying 150ml of that stuff...it was love on first....ehmmm smell..about 4 years ago in department store and still thinking about it. Also you could try Acqua Di Gio Profondo:)
The first two Bleu perfumes are made by Jacques Polge and the last one, the Parfum is made by his son, Olivier Polge, who has a more modern approach.
All Bleu has been overworn for years now and are getting exhausting (it will become a revisited classic in maybe 20 years...), the entire Allure line is less interesting in term of level of parfumery and the performance tend to be meh. You have so many superior choices to pick : Platinum Egoiste, Le Lion, Sycomore, Pour Monsieur, OG Egoiste, Antaeus...
BDC Parfum, "...I would wear the hell out of this one..." ~ Aaron took the words out my mouth.... Also add Platinum Égoïste!

To me Bleu EDP is better than the Parfum,the Parfum is too dry and woody and it doesnt project. EDP opens up beautifully,juicy,rich. Also I like the regular Allure Homme Sport more,the eau Extreme has a forced artificial sweetness that I dont find enjoyable at all,it s probably my least favourite Chanel. What I will agree with u on is Edition Blanche smells absolutely amazing, the lemon,sandalwood and vanilla combo is perfect and unique,that is a 10/10 for me although the performance is lacking.
My favorite is probably Chanel Allure Homme sport. Followed by Bleu Chanel Parfum,then the original Allure Homme.

Aaron, I just purchased a sample of the Bleu de Chanel Parfum, among some others you have highly rated, to try to understand the aromatic notes you're speaking of. My inner coffee nerd is very excited to do an aroma test.
I also really appreciate how you break down the compounds and how they all play with each other. As an engineer, this is fascinating information. Beyond that, your passion and love for perfumery really comes through and it makes the videos so much more engaging. I love the video format and the informal chatting.

I had a sample of Daddy and it's one of those fragrances that make your eyes roll back when you smell it. Absolutely loved it. Sadly can't afford a bottle but certainly one of the top fragrances on my wish list.
BDC Parfum is in my top 5 fragrances. I have Eau Extreme, and Edition Blanche as well, and although I really like them as well, the BDC Parfum is just such a lovely scent for me. It makes for a great signature, all year scent.
Same here. Was my favorite but doesn't last on my skin. I went and bought Bleu de Dua by dua brands and almost cried when I smelled it. It's like BDC Parfum but with like a 40% concentration. You literally can't tell the difference right from the spary to the dry down. It's identical but super potent. Trust me,buy one and you will come back to this post to thank me

On a work day I’ll spray 5 sprays of BDC Parfum at 6:45 am and I’m getting whiffs at 4:30 pm.

I personally love Bleu de Chanel Eau De Parfum! It was my first fragrance and I'm still in love. Unfortunately it was stolen from a house viewing whilst I was away and I got no compensation for it. I have been on the hunt to replace it but can't find any good deals on Facebook unfortunately.
Chanel never goes in sale. Pay retail, or risk getting a replica.

I own BdC EDP & Allure Homme Sport eau Extreme. I’ve owned BdC EDT and Parfum. The EDT is the most office-safe in my experience.
I pay retail for Chanel so two in the collection at one time suffices; Edition Blanche is up next on the wishlist.

My two favorite Chanel fragrances are actually Coromandel and No. 22, but I love all Chanel's in all their ranges. By far my favorite designer. I love to wear Coco Noir!

Well done sir. Edition blanche for some case lasts forever on my skin compared to all of those from video except BDC parfum. Regarding allure eau extreme, i would always go for aventus cologne which share the same dna but aventus cologne is much complex fragrance

I agree! I read some crazy comments about him on Reddit. He's one of the best reviewers on YT in my opinion. Very honest and appreciates/gives respect to fragrances he doesn't really like personally. Not to mention the education he gives. They're confused IMO.
@@SWTmel crazy people every where .. alotta ppl say Aaron just spews random notes , but the main ingredient accords are listed on the fragrance box usually 😂. even if one takes the time to read it - aaron still has the upper hand knowledge to break the raw material compositions down for us to understand it.. and that's why I appreciate Aaron's channel so much more than most fragrance channels 🤟
Thanks for this vid. I own the 5 perfumes under review. My choice would be slightly différent as I favor the edp version which as described more airy than the Parfum version.

When I tried the Bleu Parfum I was blown away at the intensity, the improved quality, performance and density of the original EDT. It was like a brand new fragrance! Great video, I’m so Impressed with your talent!

BdC edp is just baby powder with no character or balls. classic "nice guy" scent, real alpha males wear something like Percival or Rasasi Hawas. 💪

@@travisn346 Hawas is King lol, the entire Adg line is overrated and boring af, Adg profumo is the worst, it just smells like salty sea water 💀 if you want to know another King for the summer, it's Creed Aventus Cologne, sadly performance sucks, but it's a God scent lol. Aventus + Allure Homme Sport mixed.

My current signature scent is the BDC Parfum, love the sweeter aspect of it compared to EDP, it doesn't project as much but a fragrance I thoroughly enjoy the scent.
Hey Aaron, just recently found your channel, what happened to Platinum Egioste?
I have the Bleu de Chanel EDP and like it, but haven't tried the EDT or Parfum.
I've been test wearing Chanel Boy from a decant and really like it. It's a Fougere wrapped in classic vintage Chanel DNA. So the Fougere backbone trends masculine, and the classic vintage Floral Aldehydic Chanel DNA has been associated feminine since 1921, so the overall effect is unisex.
Nr. 1 chanel ever will be Egoiste for me, BDC edp/parfum are close second, allure homme sport extr, edt blanche and platinum egoiste are also great !
My favourites are Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme and any of the Bleu’s. I’d love Edition Blanche more if it lasted longer than 30 minutes on my skin…

BDC parfum is my favorite also. I love the Allure Homme Sport line too, but the longevity is sadly not there for me, so I did not buy a bottle.

I'd like to know your thoughts on fragrances going bad or expiring after a while! I have my original bottle of Blue de chanel EDT thats about 10 years old and just smells strange now. Very alcohol heavy, has it gone "bad"?
My two cents. Fragrances marked shelf life is 3-5yrs. If stored properly (cool, dry, dark) fragrances can last 10yrs plus. Has your fragrance gone bad?
Id start with going to the mall for a sample and do a skin test comparison.
This is part of why I’m slow to purchase full size bottles. I purchase decants…..and it still takes me a year or two to finish them.
I generally like your videos, but I don't care for the background music this time.

Gents get allure sport the extreme version has mentioned on this first. Its definitely one if you want the ladies to notice your fragrance especially on a hot summers day though i have worn it in any season and gotten daily compliments.
I really struggle to find a good Summer fragrance that is NOT citrus based. Is there any designer fragrance you can recommend for Summer that is NOT citrus??
Bleu de Chanel Parfum is dark, intoxicating, sweet, complex perfection. Platinum Egoiste is a masterpiece as well - 10/10 office scent, so classic, fresh, nostalgic. I really did not like Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme - was overwhelmed by way too much baby powder (assuming that’s the white musk?). Preferred the regular Allure Homme Sport but didn’t really like that either
I love this point of view: if you want Chanel you know what to expect and you like it or not that kind of perfume
BDC PARFUM is my favorite all time. I had BDC EDT since it came out but, for me at least, my skin would eat it up and projection wasn’t there. I wear parfum now more than my edt bottle and haven’t found anything close to being number 1 in my collection until recently I got a sample of amouge reflection man.. right now, amouge close second but happy I found it. Great pick up
Totally agree . If the Chanel blue EDT and EDP are two dimensional the the PARFUM is three dimensional. The EDP and EDT are too linear boring. The only niche smelling of the bunch is the PRFUME.
