Thank you for this. I am a novice and have been wracking my brain trying to learn to make good sweaters. This is the only thing that has helped me. I really think I can do it this time after years and years of trying!!!!!
I’m really happy to hear it! Thank you for your lovely comment, and please, read the written instructions through, before starting! Good luck 🍀 and happy knitting 🧶
Thank you. Thank you. I have made this jumper. It is the first jumper I have ever made for myself and I am thrilled with it. Your teaching and explanations gave me the confidence to give it a go. And because you had already worked out the sizes that also gave me the confidence. I cannot thank you enough
Very pretty sweater. I usually knit in the round but I always wanted a good sweater pattern bottom up with straight needles. Now that I have this pattern I can use so many design stitch’s that I have in multiples. I have to let you know that your tone is so relaxing that it makes it easy to follow your directions on the video. Thank you for that, you’re a great instructor. Keep on having more sweater videos. ❤️🧶🌹
Hello, OMG my first knit sweater looks amazing! I wish I can show you!!! Thank you so much!!! I did wanna add for others who are lucky and smart enough to follow your tutorial that there is a typo on the written pattern regarding the front LEFT and RIGHT necklines. Basically mirror the Right side from the left side. For example, if you started with 20 sts on the left, just pick up 20 from the right side as well, leaving the center very even! Again thank you so much and I really highly recommend this tutorial. I’m on my second sweater now and I’m designing it myself similarly to this one!❤
I have watched many videos for many different things in knitting and yours was the most informative I have found ….also THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting videos using straight needles …I too am not a fan of knitting in the round and it is hard to find patterns etc videos thay are not knitted in the round. THANK YOU
I really loved watching your instructions. very easy to understand . Thank you so much. I really wanted to learn how to do the arm hole, neckline and sleeves and you showed it. Thank you so much!
Wow wow wow . Looks amazing. I can’t wait to start this project 😊x no maths … yippee xx thanks Carolina, again your tutorials are easy to follow with amazing results ❤
Hello, I wanna say thank you so much for this video it’s very clear! I do have a question, why is the number of stitches different for the left side of the neckline and right side of the neckline. Is that on purpose? Left 18 (20, 22, 25, 31) then right 17 (17, 19 19, 19). This is from the pattern linked to the video. Any suggestions would help!
Hello my favourite teacher for knitting....💞 I would like to take your advice on which patern to knit a sweater . It's a black wool in colour on needles no. 9 . I'm not sure what to decide because in black wool the paterns are not clear to see. I really appreciate your work and guidance. Thank you so much for your time and the knowledge you share.💞
Hello there! Knitting with black is serious 😂 I mean, it’s hard for your eyes, and probably no pattern will show. If you’re really convinced of doing it, then I’d knit the sweater in Garter stitch or Stockinette. Thank you for your lovely comment 💕
My pleasure! I have knitted one closed woman’s vest, and loved it. I will be publishing the tutorial in the near future 😉 Thank you for your comment. Happy knitting 🧶
That's so beautiful .. I'm a beginner in knitting I want to ask what doest knit through the back loops do? Can I just knit through the front ? And thank for the tutorial ❤️
My pleasure! I don’t know. Please check the written instructions to see if any of the sizes fit his measurements 😉 Link to my website in the description box.
I’m pretty new to knitting and love this sweater but ima bit confused with the pattern for the right side of the neckline. The pattern says I should have 14 stitches after decreasing 6 from 17 but it’s actually 11 stitches. That side is now looking smaller on that part compared to the left? Help 😊
Thank you! The pattern is for free, and you’ll find it on my website: sowoolly.net/ There’s a link to my website below the video, on the description box
Hi. This sweater is lovely, with your tutorials, that are even better. Do I have to use bulky yarn or could I use a dk or 4ply yarn please? I have hundreds of both, but no bulky/chunky etc. I really do hope so as I would really like to knit this for me xx
Hi, thank you for your comment! If you use finer yarn and needles, your gauge (number of stitches per inch)will be smaller, therefore, your sweater too. Normally, I don’t knit adult sweaters with DK or even worsted, because it takes double the time… Plus recording it step by step…. We’re talking about a month approx! Why don’t you try to use two strands at a time and thicker needles? The main thing is that you get the same gauge as my pattern 😉 This could be a solution to use your stash, don’t you think?
Thank you for replying to my message so quickly I think I will try the double strand method . Hopefully it will turn out similar as yours 🙄 🤞. Thank you again, much love from England xx ♥️♥️
Yes,this is the most important thing, how to calculate. She started with 59 st.then decreased 8 st for armholes(4+4).59-8=51.when she started to shape the neck, she divided the work in 3:17,17,17. 17st.right,17 in the middle (on hold),and 17 st.left.Then started to decrease 6 st.one by one(watch the video).
Do you keep deceasing on the sleeves all the way to the top or just until you have the number of stitches as in 49 then just knit evenly to the top of sleeve ?
Yes, I think there is. The only part made in the round, is the ribbing for the neckline. You can finish the front, the back, and then, pick up and knit the stitches for the ribbing. Once it’s done for both parts, you can sew up the whole jumper 😉
Love this pattern. Knitting it for my daughter. I’m stuck on increasing stitches on the sleeve. I am increasing every 4 rows. Don’t know what I am doing wrong but after the second increase the pattern is uneven. After the first increase I purl next row then K/P, P, then P/K on next increasing row. Hope you can help me.
@@sowoolly I’ve watched it over and over For whatever reason I still get uneven rows. I’ll work on it today and hopefully I get it right. Your instructions are right on its my brain that’s having the issue. 🤣
Will u plz clear this up for me if I hv 90 stitches, how many to keep for each shoulder and how many to bind off on each side ( urs being 6 per side) and how many to bind off at last in the middle?
Hi... I think I found an error in your pattern. So I am at "right side of the neck line" part where I need to pass 19 stitches from the scrap yarn to the needle. BUT 19 is simply not enough sts for decreasing. How do you have only 19 sts on the needle, then decrease, then still have 19 sts remain after the decrease? Shouldn't it be passing 25 sts from scrap yarn, then decrease, then 19 sts remain? Please advise... 😢
@@Linnieteehee Thank you for the prompt response, I'm following the Medium size and I had to work 20 sts for the front left neckline so should I just do the same for the right front neckline to make both sides even. In short, should I just mirror what I did for the left neckline?
when you do the right shoulder youre saying put 17 stitches on then decrease 6, that leaves only 11 and makes it smaller than the left shoulder...........
