Very well explain.Thank you. I will make one for my daughter.
Most welcome 😊
Hey I love your tutorial! Startet mine just now and I wondered how much yarn I would have to buy on my next trip to the store! Looking forward to your answer :)
This looks lovely, I hate knitting with a circular knitting needle 😝I used to knit with 4 needles 30 years ago, but can't find any patterns with these... I'm starting tomorrow, looking forward tot it, thanks!
I’m taking the plunge to the dark side from crochet to attempting to knit this jumper! Also I’ve done a WATG unboxing video that will be up on my RUclips channel tomorrow (Friday 19th Feb) at 4pm if you wanted to check it out ❤️❤️🧶🧶🧶🧶
very helpful video thanks
Thank you for sharing this. I am just learning to knit. Too bad we didn't have RUclips 25 years ago. I would be an expert myself by now...lol. Beautiful sweater.😊
Yes, exactly!
I am going to do this!!!!!!!
great video!
Great knitting a sweater thanks
Thank you for sharing
Going to make it😍😍😍😍
Best tutorial video on knitting a sweater I have seen. I have bought yarn from you to knit a sweater but was afraid to try. But not anymore. Thanks
Thank you, so pleased you found the tutorial useful. Can't wait to see you knitty creation
@WOOLANDTHEGANG I agree! Best one! You guys need to do more tutorials like this. I would have bought more wool from you guys if I knew how to use them.
@@woolandthegang there was a question from Maria about the decrease for the body. Could you pls clarify? A few of us have the same question! Thanks very much for the amazing tutorial.
@@luongha7 Hey there! For this, it's best to chat with our expert knitting team and you can contact them directly via this link :) woolandtheganghelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
@@luongha7 hi! I made it, i finished it. It's a sequence of *1 decrease row + 3 stockinette stitch rows* , then it fits with the arms. :)
The most amazjng and clear tutorial. Thank you so much
Amazing 😍 learning this from Brasil 🇧🇷

would love to learn how to knit a sweater in the round. thanks!
Thanks 🙏
👏🏻♥️♥️
Beautiful thank you 💕
you're welcome!
@@woolandthegang please, your US size 2 is only a TINY UK size 6! Most average women over here are at least a size 14 and I'm a size 16! PLEASE can you work out how many extra stitches should I cast on for my size?? and do I decrease by more stitches, or does the decreasing and increasing stay the same?? I really need your help here, I've written the whole of your instructions down!
nice sharing 👍👍❤️
Thank you very much
Nice work
Thank you thank you 😊❤
I would recommend making this sweater according to the directions she gives for a size 10-12 US. I tried adding stitches to accommodate the size difference and it came out waaay to big. If you’re a 10/12 US, so it fie the size 6/8 UK.
hi! thanks for the advice! what was the number of stitches you made for a size 10?
A USA size 10 to 12 is a UK size 14 to 16
Such great tutorial!! And that wool looks super cozy.. tried buying it but you guys don't ship it to India.. please start shipping here!! ❤🤗
I love your sweaters and patterns (they taught me how to knit!) but I really wish you offered more knit in the round options. I hate seaming but have found knitting in the round to be slow to progress for me.
Woaw 😍
Thank you!!!!!
I love that it is quiet without musical background. I would love to knit this sweater. I hope you have a 3-ply version of this wool, because I learned in the Bible that 3-ply is stronger than 1.
😂😂😂
thank you :)
Nice and I would like to make it with the help of your procedure how to do it. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome :)
THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS SO WELLLLL TYYYYY
Looks ridiculously easy to me! First tutorial I've seen using straight needles! The hardest thing seems to be the seaming at the end! Sod that, I think I'll just seam it in whip stitch on the wrong sides instead! (most shop bought sweaters have seams on the inside!) only other thing to say is, it would have been better to play a little incidental music instead of cutting out the sound when you went fast coz I found that disturbing! And ALSO, I hope you have PRINT OUT instructions on your website for this!
Doesn't matter now, I've written it all down!
😂
It depends.. it was better without music for me..
شكرا 😊
Just working my project new sweater knitting 🧶

Hey there! We have a video on how to cast-on :) you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/iWooc3gdVII/видео.html
Thanks for the great video! Do you have any suggestion on which yarn to use if we want to make a summery version, let's say using cotton?
Thank you for this great tutorial. I have read on many patterns about 'blocking' the finished jumper, do you recommend this?
yes we do :)
I have a silly question....so do I cut off the wool from the ball after I finish securing the stiches with a needle.?after I finish every part Also, In the end when join everything do you start with a new yarn ball?
This tutorial is really great. I am a new knitter and this gives me the courage to try with a sweater... I am trying to follow along and I got stuck at the decrease of the body. You work one decrease row and a purl row, then you start the secondo decrease row and then you say you just finished your decrease row and 3 stocking stich rows...how many rows did you actually work? ....and then ? Do you keep alternating one decrease and one purl row, or one decrease row and 3 stocking see rich rows? I tried both, but it's my first sweater try and I can't understand what's the right length....
I hope you or someone can help me with this. 😊 Thanks
I am also stuck there. I decided to prepare the sleeves and see if the length fit with the Super-Long decrease part of the body..let's see what happens.
Maybe @WOOLANDTHEGANG can answer us.... That would be lovely... ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I’m confused about this too. I counted the number of rows of the sleeve when the shaping started and it’s 24 so I assume the body shaping should also be the same, which works out to be
2 rows of casting off 4 stitches each
1 decrease row, 1 purl row
4 times of (1 decrease row, 3 rows of stocking stitch)
2 times of (1 decrease row and 1 purl row)
Going to try this now. Hope it works!!
Ok!! I did it. It works alternating * 1 reduction and 3 stockinette rows*. It fits perfectly with the arms and it is also quite easy to sew.
Just pay attention, it is SUPER oversize... I added 5 stitches to the body in order to have it a little bit bigger, but it's HUGE ...and very heavy. Good knit!
@@mariute1 so, is that one cast off 4 in knit, 1 cast off 4 in purl, then the decrease 2 row in knit followed by 3 ordinary stockinette rows starting from purl row, and then repeat from decrease 2 in knit row and then 3 stockinette stitch, 3 more times? Coz for my first 2 efforts I was literally just alternating the decrease 2 rows and the purling rows, I've only noticed recently on rewatching the video that she suddenly mentions '3 rows of stocking stitch'!!

wish you explained in more detail how to seem the sleeves bc i’m confused on how to do it
Can you do the neckline with straight needles?
If so, how do you do it? Do I need circular needles? I don't have dpn...
BACK THEN WHEN RECYCLING WAS THE NORM!
I'm 73; I stopped knitting at 16. I decided to go back since sweaters in the stores look like old-communist China. As a kid, I was taught to unravel old sweaters full of holes and reknit them. The nuns showed us how to knit faster and evenly. One must hold all fingers on the needles while the right index constantly hooks and wraps the wool without ever being lifted off the needle. This is how one can recognize a real professional knitter. Up to now, in all videos I watched, I noticed none of them could match the best-knitter nun of my childhood.
@Vicar Amelia This is the way I and the nun knit. But the nun was hundred times better as she used only her index closed to the needles to hook the left needle without ever lifting her right hand off the needle. Her right hook was short and quick. She also did not want to waste her time knitting so she read at the same time and never made a hole. Her whole sweater was uniform like made in a machine. Here is the video.

Love this! How can I get the pattern without buying the kit? It doesn't seem to be free on website. I have already purchased the Crazy Sexy Wool.
Love this calming and thorough tutorial! Can I ask how long it takes roughly to make this??
hey! This takes roughly 10 hours to make
If you are up used to , you can make 3 to 4 a day
Gee whiz! 10 hours?! As a noob knitter, this fuckin’ blows my mind.
At 14:11 it’s a little confusing. Is the three rows of stocking stitch referring to the K decrease, purl, K decrease rows?
And then you do K decrease row, P to end, K to end, P to end, x3?
I thought I was the only one confused. It's even more confusing for me because I enlarged the pattern slightly. Really waiting for a response too. Thank you for asking .
I think her wording was unfortunately a bit confusing, but she meant keep going with what you were already doing on those 3 previous rows (and her next instructions are the same, too). Which means:
When you have just done a knit decrease row and decreased to 29 stitches...
Purl 1 row.
Do a knit decrease row,.
Purl 1 row.
Do a knit decrease row.
Purl 1 row.
Keep repeating, until you get to 19 stitches.
Ensure you finish on a Purl row (so Purl 1 more row after you decreased on a knit row to get down to those 19 stitches).
That's it. Done. Super simple!
Love this video but how much yarn did you use
很好
Excellent v ideo
Please can u give me guide for medium size
How many stitches do I need
Does anyone know if I can make this sweater using just knit rows ( I like look better), or if I would have to make any changes to the pattern. Thank you for helping.
How do you keep track of how many rows you knit? Is there an easy way, or should I continue to use my counter?
may I knit like this one day. It's my dream to knit like expert but I have no teacher except RUclips
So beautiful knitting 💓💓💓
What is the yarn name and needle number?? From where can i get these?
So this is a size 2? How many skeins of yarn? And how would we modify for size 3?
Beautiful jumper. I was ready to commit to buy the kit, until I saw how you do the sizes. I am a UK 16, therefore the 14/16 will be too tight and the 18/20 will be way to big. Have you considered doing the patterns in bust size? After all that’s what we buy clothes to fit.
Hi there, thank you for your comments and suggestions. We'll pass on your thoughts to our design team 💗
I really didn’t enjoy this tutorial very hard to follow and thought I just couldn’t get it! However watched another video of a different RUclips and was so much better to follow!
Can you indicate the gauge for this project? Is the wool considered super bulky/ chunky? and what size are you knitting? Are there instructions for knitting other sizes? Thanks the tutorial is great -- love wool and the gang
Hi I’m confused after your final increase for 35 stitches then work 4 stocking stitch rows do I start raglan on 4th row which is a knit row
I have blanket yarn. will it look good with that too
In 25:45, which piece is the yarn coming from, to knit? we had 4 separate pieces, now where is that yarn thread coming from?
How many yarns did you use?
Great tutorial! Do you sell the individual pattern? Could only find a kit on your website
Hey Alexandra, we only sell Eden as a kit, but our Let's Do This Sweater is a free pattern you might like: woolschool.woolandthegang.com/lets-do-this-sweater-free-knitting-pattern/
Can I find your pattern ? For this exact sweater ?
@@woolandthegang It's not the same, the collar is different :(
I wish you would have shown the final product more and in depth. It's a great tutorial but it would have been nice to see how it's sewn together all the way
It would help if I had a diagram for reference. And if it was clear what part of the article is being knitted first
I’m confused after 14:10. Is it just repeating that sequence we just did over and over until 23 stitches left?
My dear friend,
Do you know how to knit topdown high neck sweater for five years old. If yes then kindly show me the tutorials instructions.
Thank you so much
God bless you
I just checked but couldn’t find my country’s name -India to signup for newsletter.
Looks lovely but I can't find the pattern on your website.
Hi there.. the sweater you’re showing/knitting which size is it?
If l make it with 60 stitches both back n front part how many stitches should leave after shaping or l should definitely follow ur instructions n leave 19 both parts
Amazing video, but I am a bit confused if on the front and the back of the sweater the stockinette stitch section is alone 32 cm or it should be 32cm together with the 7 rows of ribbing? Thank you for any help!✨
32 cm in stocking stitch only. I wrote it all down!
Thank u❤️
Hi! Can you make the same sweater in the same way just using thinner yarn? Like not chunky wool?
I was wondering the same
I've made the same sweater design with 8 ply yarn and just altered the measurements. Making a kids jumper now and it's looking pretty decent 🙂
@@emilyfirth6345 i need help, how did you alter the measurements? I just realised while knitting it that it might be too small for me... can i just knit it longer? I'm at the 32 cm part..
@@enrikalukrecija3136 I’m just going to add more rows and extend it past 32cm as that’s going to be too short for me.
Did you figure out how to do this? I wanted to do the same! 😊
please could you give me the number of stitches to do if i were to use smaller yarn? as well as all the other measurements. thanks
Dear WOOLANDTHEGANG, thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! I have one question: around 29:17 you talk about casting off in ribbing. Knit first stitch, purl second stitch, and then first stitch over second stitch and off the end. Then knit next stitch, take the first stitch over the second stitch and off the end again. Then you say you'll continue the entire row like that.
Here I got confused, because I was wondering when the next purl stitch would be. Would the next then be purl stitch, take the first stitch over the second stitch and off the end again? And then start with the knit stitch again?
Hopefully this makes sense, thank you so much in advance!
exactly, you do purl, cast off, knit, cast off, purl, cast off, knit, cast off, purl...
@@mariyanaslavova888 Ah great, thank you so much for your answer!
Is this like Chunky wool. I. I South Africa and bought chunky for my granddaughter cropped jumper. Can't find any decent patterns for 22 yr old. Modern that is. Hope there is a printed pattern for this. I'm a bit old to watch and knit at the same time.
TIP: Hold the needles above your arms not below. Hope that helped. ❤️
how many skeins would you need?

@@sandraruiz1500 That's so much!
It is depend on your sweater size
Please make long cardigan for women and for 7-8yr girl
What is the thickness of the yarn and where can I get this yarn ?
What size needles and where do you find them and the yarn?
How many skeins are required and what weight?
