Important note about THEY from 2002: This is a "Wes Craven Presents" film, meaning he produced it, but did not direct. The director is Robert Harmon, who made The Hitcher in 1986 (which is releasing on 4K at the end of this month so if you've not seen it, now is the time to check it out) and Highwaymen in 2004 (a lesser known but also solid Horror/Action flick, it makes for a good companion to The Hitcher. I wish he'd make another film in the same vein and call it his "Roadkill Trilogy" or something).
For the month of October, I have a tradition where I watch a horror movie or tv show everyday. I make a calendar in September every year and send it to my friends so they can choose to join me or not. This month I'm watching mostly new to me movies and shows, only two movies have I seen before. We're watching: Trick or Treat, The Platform, Misery, Saw X, Cabinet of Curiosities, Eden Lake, The House That Jack Built, Barbarian, Seven, The First Omen, X, Pearl, MaXXXine, The Ruins, Mother!, Talk to Me, House on Haunted Hill, Infinity Pool, Alien, Aliens, Alien III, The Village, The Taking of Deborah Logan, Smile, Candyman, Nope, The Exorcist 1-3, Renfield, The Ritual, Last Night in SoHo, and Jacob's Ladder.
Dude FROM is a baller tv show, the characters are so fun (jade is my fave for sure) and im so excited for season 3 cuz i have no idea how theyre gonna resolve that season 2 finale lmao
What I love about ghostwatch is that the presenters were well known UK presenters at the time - not random actors- which just added to the believability. (And Craig Charles is still going as a funk DJ for the BBC).
Definitely left an impression. I loved the film as a whole. The last 20 minutes or so strayed too far into the realm of "impossible" for me. Would have liked to see a creative alternate ending.
I agree, it’s fun to take a more lighthearted approach to Halloween sometimes. While it’s fun to dive into the scarier, darker stuff, I like to make room for the purely fun, Halloween-day movies where you soak up the spooky fun of the season. And thanks for the book recs, a lot of them sound really exciting!
That was the director of When Evil lurks so I knew it was gonna be crazy. Loved both. Demien Runga is gonna be a great addition to quality horror. God the new Salems Lot was sooooooooo bad.
On my TBR: - The House that Horror Built - Christina Henry - Something Wicked This Way Comes - Ray Bradbury - I Was a Teenage Slasher - Stephen Graham Jones - Thirteen Storeys - Jonathan Sims (written by the same guy who wrote/starred in The Magnus Archives podcast!) On my watchlist: - Haunting of Hill House (rewatch) - Talk to Me - Hereditary - Shaun of the Dead - The Fall of the House of Usher (rewatch)
I watched ghost watch live when it went out. It was so spooky at the time not realising it wasn’t real. I don’t know how it will hold up now. I need to rewatch it.
I am 59 years and do not scare easily. I watched terrified this year when I found out it was about the same person who did , when evil lurks ,scared the living shit out of me gave me nightmares. Loved it !!!!!!❤❤
I just recently listened to the Episode Thirteen audiobook and honestly its such an IMMERSIVE experience! I would recommend listening to it over reading it!
@JemmaKomo yes the song!! Even though it wasn't inherently creepy, given the context I was SPOOKED every time I heard it! Chills! And you obviously can't get that by reading it alone
@@superstar4lyfe12 exactly!! Although, don’t get me wrong, if they ever decided to make the song available on streaming services I’d be downloading it double quick 😂
Liked seeing the beautiful black kitty, and your hair color in last few videos is a great color for you! Enjoy spooky season and thanks for the recommendations.
The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane is suspense not horror but the trailer makes it look otherwise. You have lots of good movies to watch and books to read. Cool video Sarah! Having a pet on the video always helps!😁

definitely watch ghostwatch at night if possible!! it’ll be more atmospheric - it takes place overnight, with the live news crew staying with the family in their house.
My jaw actually dropped when you said the little girl who lives down the lane bc it's one of my fav fall movies and no one knows what it is. Also idle hands!!!
Ghostwatch is so good! Anyone who enjoys found footage will love it. It’s a slow burn for a while as we learn the story and backstory of the ghost haunting them, but when it picks up it’s great. A couple amazing scares in there too! I really like The Barn too. It’s really fun
I’ve got some goosebumps on my fall tbr. I’ve got the haunted mask 1&2 and the scarecrows walk at midnight. I should find some give yourself goosebumps they were always so fun especially the werewolf lodge one.
Idle hands is amazing! It was one of my favorite movies growing up. I forgot about it for years and couldn’t remember the name of it, I was so excited when I found it again. Def recommend such a fun movie & Halloween classic!
Ghostwatch is amazing. They are so committed to the bit, and I can't imagine what I'd have thought if I'd seen this when I was younger. You have to remind yourself that these are mostly real tv presenters from the time. If nothing else, it's a must watch because of the sensation it created, not unlike Blair Witch in the U.S. Love it.
terrified heavily influenced smile’s most infamous sequence and its crazy it doesn’t get crazy, is one of the best paranormal movies to date, with an opening you won’t forget
I really liked we used to live here. Could barely put it down and I kept talking about it to my friends and family, even though they all dislike horror. And it really scared me, more existential dread and stress than jumping at strange noises
have you ever heard of/watched Yellowjacket's?? i think you'd love it!! one of my favorite shoes of all time (my bad if you've mentioned it before, what did you think??)

I love your cat joining for this video! This video came at the perfect time as my Halloween watches are going to be totally randomised this year so I needed a good list to draw on and your recommendations are always my go to!
Idle hands I watched last yr my man put it on I never heard of it it's a classic 90s goofy horror but is set on Halloween I believe and has some pretty good scares in it you'll love it
October for me is the best time for rereads. I’m going to be reading Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House, Richard Matheson’s Hell House & Ghost Story from Peter Straub. Thanks for kicking off the Haloween vibes.
Another film in a pretty good Halloween setting is Terrifier 2. When a creepy killer clown with bloody-funny antics and extended gore scenes are welcome too you won't be disappointed.
I enjoyed both the Dark Harvest book and movie. The book is a quick read, so you might want to read it before watching the movie. Ghostwatch and Terrified are excellent. I loved We Used To Live Here. It's so creepy and unsettling. Happy spooky season!
Autumn is THE best time of year, especially as a horror fan
As someone who's job gets significantly harder when it's hot, and a massive horror fan, this is definitely the best time of year lol.
Up until November 1. That starts my depression until May.

I so agree, I love that movie!
Ghostwatch is so much fun. I wasn't alive when it aired however my parents remarked on how scared everybody was when it did! I hope you enjoy it :)

I think you’re gonna love Terrified.
IDLE HAAAAANNNDS!!! This is such an underrated horror comedy. I was just talking about it the other day with my husband. It's so fun and ridiculous.
I watched Gonjiam today based on your recommendation in another video. It was great!
FROM is such an incredible show! Season 3 just started with weekly episode releases, so it'll help us extend spooky season through most of November.
This. It’s my favorite show I’ve seen since Lost
What I love about ghostwatch is that the presenters were well known UK presenters at the time - not random actors- which just added to the believability. (And Craig Charles is still going as a funk DJ for the BBC).
Idle hands is full of Halloween
a young Jessica Alba.... SCHWING!!!!
Just stopped to say we NEED a review on The Substance ASAP!!!! With fill spoilers and everything please!!! That was a RIDE 😅😳😳
Just said the same thing, as a horror channel you HAVE to make some sort of video on the substance, like cmon

I watched ghost watch live when it went out. It was so spooky at the time not realising it wasn’t real. I don’t know how it will hold up now. I need to rewatch it.

It holds up for sure. Even knowing it's not real it sucks you in and it's barely dated, only the phones really tell you it's 90s.
