Float on...That was a hit...even today we still listen to this track.
Float on was a great song, keep up the good work!
WBPTV. You are doing your thang!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank You , Didn't know this was a Detroit based group
The best "one hit wonder" of all time!!!!!!! ❤❤❤
OF ALL TIME!
Greatness starting with the original Floaters, Float On !🎶🎵🎶
I've enjoyed watching!
Very Underrated
I totally forgot about The Floaters.
You are so sosososo smooth
Great video WBPTV!! Now when is some Chess legends gone get some recognition
It’s Coming Very Soon
Great 👍🏽 😊
I saw this and was tripping because I just was thinking about them a couple days before you posted! Excellent video!
Ok so they was the orginal singers of float on. It's so catchy, it sound so smooth. float on, float on. You would think there was enough room for everybody. There's no such thing as too many groups, or too many singers. But I guess that depends on who you ask. It seems they were held back, so others could Advance. Now as I think of this, I'm sure it happened to a lot of groups, or singers. Thanks I used to hear that song all the times in the 80s. Sad that they were considered a one hit wonder and put on a shelf. Music has changed so much. Sometimes I just want to go back, slow things down and enjoy good music. You keep educating us.👍. Love, respect and positivity always. Neita james. ✌💕🖖🙌🙂👋.
Wow 1977 was a great year!! The Floaters Float On it was a great song!!! I remember when ABC Records folded in 1979 solded to MCA but the musical times were changing but fame and success is a like a downward spiral and tailspin sometimes when you hit rock bottom in the music industry you don't have nowhere to go but down!!! I love this video!!! I love it!! I love the 70s!! Can you dig it!!!! But what happened to The Floaters was with ABC Records at the time can you tell about it!! Thank you so much!!!
After 7 teamed up with LeVert and did a cover as well.....in today's time they wouldn't be considered a 1 hit wonder since they had 3 top 40 charted hits very underated
Larry And Paul😭😢💔
,Stetsasonic remade " float on" back in 1989! I have this album still til this day! Floaters in bold letters on front ( blue and silver) on the back a square picture of the group!
I have the first 3 albums. They may be a one hit wonder group to alot but I definitely don’t see them that way. Awesome songs on those albums. Side note: they were a quartet on the first album the second and third album included a fifth member(strange that his name isn’t mentioned on either albums but he can lead also-lead most songs on the third album). The fourth album Ralph and Larry were no longer in the group and they were replaced by two other men(I don’t know their names) and a female vocalist named ‘Shuga’. That line up didn’t last and Paul and Charles were no longer singing and I believe the group disbanded. Years later they Larry and Ralph reformed the group with yet another member. This was the latest line up until Larry died.
Respectfully the passing away information is not correct. I was a friend of Paul Mitchell.
They looked slick as ever. Float on.
My best friend Sandy is Paul’s daughter.
You are a power house
I read in the comments you're doing a piece on Chess Well you should talk with a gentleman who is still alive 96 years young by the name of Gene Barge AKA Daddy G. Mr Barge can also give you so much background information on even Motown because Berry Gordy initially was working with Chess as you know on his earlier projects prior to establishing Tamla Motown.; as well as VJ Records and Chicago's burgeoning Record industry once a Mecca called Record Row . I can share a contact information with his permission
Please Do
Wow sad
I had to leave by 4:30 latest, why are you coming?🤷🏽♂️
