The Staple Singers recorded some of the GREATEST, AMAZING, CLASSIC Songs EVER!!! “ LEGENDS,No Doubt.”!!!! My favorite songs by The Staple Singers are, Respect Yourself, and If You’re Ready.
The Staples with The Band, Take a Load Off. The pinnacle of a brilliant piece of work.. I'll take you there, I played that single constantly when I was about 11. Truly amazing
My favorite song by the staple singers is of course Respect yourself. And Lets do it Again. And Big Mac. From the Lets do it again soundtrack. And. A Piece of the Action by Mavis Staples in 1977
I am looking forward to learning more about this legendary group. Update, My favorite records by them were I'll Take You There, Respect Yourself, Let's Do It Again, Are You Ready, to name a few. Thanks for show casing this amazing family. So the baby girl, Ms. Mavis Staples is the only one left. Happy to hear about their Hall of Fame inductions as well.
A Long Walk To DC, We'll Get Over, Respect Yourself, I'll Take You There, If You're Ready, Come Go With Me, Let's Do It Again, Why Am I Treated So Bad, Slippery People, and Heavy Makes You Happy are among my favorite by The Staple Singers.
Hi Friend once again I appreciate your time and effort. I'm 60 now and I will never forget going to the Record Shop on 63rd and Ashland in Chicago buying the Staple Singers music
I grew up listening to the Staple Singers, however it was odd to hear them singing a secular song like "Let's Do It Again " because the lyrics were not those that a father would sing with his daughter's and vice versa. It was a hit song for them and was used as the theme song for a movie by the same name with Bill Cosby and Sidney Portier .
The Staple Singers have made their mark in gospel as well as R&B. My favorite song by The Staple Singers is "Respect Yourself"! And their song "Let's Do It Again" is a close 2nd!
my favorite staple singers songs were the whole stax era, plus the 1984 album on private eye records, called hate dont live here, i met them serveral times and they all were very down to earth, pops taught them that way.
This look at the Staples is pretty good but I was a teenager in the 70's when the Staples were as Ed Sullivan use to say Really Big ! And the narrator is giving the Staples the due I think on this video, the Staples were so GREAT there will never be another to even come close, also Pops guitar style is very influential he has that sound that's hard to duplicate believe me because this guitarist has tried came close but never exactly like Pops. And hisa vocals are also great and what hasn't been said about Mavis, my top 4 female vocalist of all time in no specific order is Mavis, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Etta James and Karen Carpenter.
This is the most beautiful blend of soul, blues and gospel. They don't make music like this anymore. Its such a pity.

In 1976, I helped Pop Staples pick out a pair of shoes at Wesley's shoe store in Roseland, Southside of Chicago. Blessed for this great memory.
