Did you ever find out why it was hunting? I have it on my a6000 and it hunts too for video. It seem to work fine on my A7ii, but I am wondering why the a6000 is hunting?
@@holdmylenscap7241 i thought you were chinese at first. Then I saw the comments. Hehe! Just got an A7s3 and looking at lenses. And found your video. Please make more. :)
Awesome review!! I just bought a tamron f2.8 Would have any experience with that lens? I’m curious if you think it’s worth it to just upgrade to the one you reviewed.
I think tracking failed for the selfy on the guy was because of his cap confusing the autofocus especially at close selfy distance. It focussed fine on the girl
Thanks for the surprisingly detailed review, I'm very pleased I found this! I appreciate that you took the time to talk about a few details that get missed in other reviews, such as the smoothness of video focusing. Keep making videos 👍 Just a side note: although the production quality on this is good, I think your skintones need a bit of work, probably through a combination of a better grade and better lighting. Things seem rather desaturated and off to me, which was surprising since the photo samples you showed looked gorgeous, excellent job with you stills editing! However, I'm an a7iii user as well and understand the struggles with video colors without something like a Color Checker on every shot. These issues don't detract from your review (honestly I think I noticed it just because it's an issue for me too!) but I thought I'd point it out since I saw you're a Resolve user so the tools should exist. Cheers 😊
Hi Taylor, Thank you for your lovely comment it made our day :) We are using Resolve, but still having our baby steps with it. Also a fun fact but at work Peter was wearing a hard hat while working outside and only the lower half of his head got sunburned, that's why he had to desaturate a bit the skintones or else his duotone face looked funny hahaha :) We are aiming to upload one video every week and people like you help us keep going a lot :)
@@holdmylenscap7241 I know what it's like just easing into Resolve! Haha, I'm still unsure if I'm using it correctly for all my work, but it seems like you'll figure it out soon, the rest of your technical skills speak to a dedication to the craft 👏
I have no experience with the Sony 28mm lens, but this lens is a joy to use on gimbals as it is lightweight. If you are not doing lots of focus pulls then this lens is great, but as you seen in our review smooth pulls is the main weakness of this lens
It was probably a combination of things, the hat, the lights in the background, close focus, low light and the A7III's not so great tracking, all combined together. But in all other situations the Samyang did track pretty well.
Thank you for using the lens that I designed. I'm your fan and I love your photos! :)
You designed it???! Wow thats so freakin' awesome, you nailed it!!! What other lenses did you design and maybe we can get it and make a review of it 😁
@@holdmylenscap7241 Technically, I'm a product planner of Samyang. The others I planned are 75mm F1.8, 35mm F1.8, 24mm F1.8 and 12mm F2.0.
@@samyanglensplannerpast I like the 35mm f1.8.. its really quiet and small
good work. quick question, does stepping motor save a lot in cost?
wow, can you design an AF 135 F1.8? :)
Wow this is the best review of this lens I came across so far. Great work and you really enjoy what you do.
Thank you very much! We had alot of fun making this video 😊

Hi! That's the Samyang 24mm F1.8 :) If you mean which lens for the video... we are using Sony ZV1 for that scene...

Awesome review!!
I just bought a tamron f2.8
Would have any experience with that lens? I’m curious if you think it’s worth it to just upgrade to the one you reviewed.
I don't have any experience with that lens! I only get to use this Samyang 24mm F1.8 and its incredibly sharp and fast 😊
have you tested the viltrox 24 1.8?
No sorry :)

Not sure what are you thinking about... which menu colour?
Great review, thank you so much. Also nice, channel, keep up the good work :)

Jollibee!!! pinay? nice review
Should i buy this or sony 28mm f2 for gimbal use

its not camera it not lens, its your cap hahahahhaah
I think the problem you had focusing on your face was your hat
It was probably a combination of things, the hat, the lights in the background, close focus, low light and the A7III's not so great tracking, all combined together. But in all other situations the Samyang did track pretty well.
It’s specifically because your hat is casting a shadow on you eyes so the a7iii can’t recognize your face.
Focus not so good - slow and wrong
