I have a theory that Diane is dead in every conceivable universe, the reason why Rick prime got rid of Diane is because they figured out that if Diane stays they end up as less extraordinary, yea their happier but with her their less likely to follow the narrative of the “infinite” Rick. So I think Rick prime actually thought he was doing c137 a favor
Yea I was thinking the same thing. I was also thinking that the killer Rick probably had that as his job for the proto-citadel (the citadel didn’t exist yet, but the ricks clearly got together to discuss policy loosely)
I think everyone is missing an obvious possibility.
Rick C-137 brought Diane back successfully and Rick Prime killed her immediately or turned her into that monster.
So C-137 must first kill Prime before any plans to revive Diane.

If Diane survives you end up with a "simple Rick or something similar - a guy who dabbles around with high-tech stuff, but never really goes all "nihilistic mad scientist."
Also: the vast population of Ricks on the citadel itself would indicate that there are inferior ricks who probably get grabbed from their home dimension for various reasons. ("Simple Rick" for example).
Seriously v if they had portal tech of their own, why would they work in a cookie factory on a space station - especially being employed by another version of themself.
This also explains the grubby "bootleg portal fluid" Rick: he's trapped on the citadel for some reason or other, and has gone scumbag during captivity.
Remember the central finite curve is a cordoned off subset of universes where Rick is the smartest human, at the very least.
But we know that simple Rick comes from somewhere "30 iterations off of the central finite curve".
So what about u I erased "between" those extremes? Ones where the local Rick isn't QUITE as "Rick" (for various reasons), but who still end up being recruited by the more megalomaniacal Ricks?

I see diane as perfect mix between a healthy jerry and summer, someone who isn't afraid to voice her thoughts summer, but someone who values her own family and is humble jerry, that just how i see diane

@@AnxietyFreak The finite curve seperates other universes where rick isn't the smartest man in the universe this is why we don't see an alternative universe where rick isn't the smartest man in the universe, at the end of season 5 evil morty broke through it allowing him to access other universes where rick doesn't even exist at all.
Probably why Rick prime has to kill her, because if she is still alive Rick will give up being a mad scientist and be a Jerry.

The thing is, despite what he says, Rick cares about his family just as much as Diane did. This is why he went on a quest to kill the Rick who killed his original family. This is why he chooses to be haunted by Diane in his original universe and this is why he saves the family in the latest season as he grew attached to them. All Rick's may hate Jerry, however our Rick seems to hate Jerry, not because he's an idiot, but because he sees Diane in him and hates being around someone who reminds him of both his wife, and his old self.
Excellent hypothesis
He cant be around a Diane, the pain hurts too much and the Diane now dead was the one and only he loved. His self destructive tendencies were overlooked by that one and only one Diane.

Here’s my theory.
In the S5 finale we find out about the „Central Finite Curve“(?) that separates all universes where Rick is the smartest from those where he isn’t. It does *not* however mean that Rick does not exist in those other universes. Just that he’s not super smart there.
What if our Rick, C-137, is a „border Rick“, who would have ended up on the other side of that curve if he stayed with Diane. After all we see „Simple Ricks“ Rick who gave up science for his family too. In that case, any Rick that ended up choosing science and thus staying inside the CFC would have eventually broken up with Diane, causing her to hate him. The Ricks don’t care tho, since they focused more on science than love.
I believe most the Dianes would be abandoned but there’s really no reason why they would be dead (aside from being old but they would only be in there early 70s or late 60s so thats not a good enough reason.). Plus C-137 was already clearly the smartest in his universe so its also entirely possible some actually stayed with, or came back for, there wifes.
I also heard a theory that Rick C-137 also built the Central Finite Curve as a way to isolate Rick Prime and make it more easier to hunt him, since although finding him in a pocket of an infinite dimensions of where he’s the smartest guy in the universe is very difficult, it would be comparatively easy compared to the much larger unknown depths of the true, unrestricted multiverse.

resetting portal travelers might not have been possible before. rick didnt intentionally cause it, he tried a "hard reset" on the fluid to reboot the portal index. the only reason travelers were reset, was probably due to evil mortys messing with the fluid, otherwise the reset would have worked, so its a combination of factors. and currently, the reset would send summer and the beths back to the mr frundles dimension, so its not an option anymore.
In speaking to Rick's character and failing marriages around 4-5 minutes in, I think the narrator fails to give credit to C137 for being a different Rick before seeing his original wife & daughter die. The council of Ricks have called C137 out for being the rogue, and I recall him also being accused of being passionate somehwhere else in his storyline. Remember that C137 declined the portal gun,was ready to hang up his lab coat, and his Diane came into the garage excited for him, thinking he had discovered a breakthrough. This was not a Rick neck deep in a failing marriage. I could also see Rick having tried to move on with other Dianes, but he's passionate. He's the Rickest Rick. Nothing replaces HIS Diane. He still holds himself to account for losing her. Subsequent Dianes in other dimensions don't get this Rick until after he's been broken. Any one of those possible, subsequent universes could have all been universes where their marriage was doomed, even if it wasn't going to be Rick's fault. Rick still has to have some kind of learning curve in his own genius. Nowadays, his dimensions are catalogged. He can already tell you what's different between dimensions before he fires the portal gun. 30 years ago, he might have been jumping into other dimensions a little blind. Imagine the stress of that trial and error when you're still grieving. Obviously, I'm throwing out a lot of conjecture. But his storyline, so far, offers up room that C137 could have been the Unrickest Rick had Prime found someplace else to play.

Honestly, at this point, I think this is most likely what happened:
All the Ricks who joined Rick Prime probably systematically killed their Dianes. This would to ensure every Rick would fall in line and join them and not think about the concept of hoping to another universe where she was alive after that Rick abandoned her. Beth was probably raised by decoy Dianes in those timelines. All of which were deactivated once the Ricks set the Beths up with the Jerrys to mass produce Mortys, as seen in S5's finale.
The finale showed us that the Ricks are sadistic enough to commit acts like this. Its safe to assume they would purposefully manipulate Beth throughout her life in order to create Morty. Rick Prime was probably responsible for all of this, while our Rick is the rage against this machine. This is why Rick went on a killing spree once fully learning of Prime's plans. It wasn’t just because he killed his family, but was killing them all throughout the Multiverse, and ruining their daughter by making her get with Jerry. Its also why he hates Jerry so much, he is a biproduct of Rick Prime's mass murdering.
I think if Rick Prime is the guy they fight in the S6 finale tomorrow, this truth will probably be revealed.
For me, it was not rick prime. Obviously, he doesn't value something only for himself like in S6 episode 1. It was our rick that make the rick citidel which he invent morty marketing in the citidel.

And I want to add, what if Prime Rick's Diane is outside the finite curve and will come back with Evil Morty, they team up.

I feel that Rick and Diane were both highly intelligent and could have become adversaries in other dimensions.

It’s probably more likely our Rick invented a way to save Diane from cancer while all the other ricks failed. This leading to Rick prime killing out of jealousy and to make the perfect Rick.
Quick fact, the main reason we haven’t seen another Diane is because when they travel to move into other realities, they move into relatives that are as similar to their’s as possible. Diane is dead in the prime universe so Diane wouldn’t appear in the other universes they move into. The other dimensions are just other dimensions, not other realities, so we wouldn’t see Diane unless she moved to one of those dimensions as an explanation of her absence.
not correct. everything is possible in multi dimensions. central final curve might be the key, as it seperates where the rick is the smartest man in the dimension with dimensions he's not. and if diane's death is required for a rick to be the smartest in their dimension, that explains why.

Diane is DEAD in EVERY conceivable universe/timeline/reality because Rick Prime invented a weapon that KILLS her in ALL timelines. But it could only shoot once….
There has always been somebody behind the scenes. We now have the most wonderful evil versions of just about anybody, except Diane Sanchez. And we know that Evil Morty is a robot who is controlled by someone else. Who knows where this could lead, but I would be happy if she turned out to be the Big Bad who was using Rick all along, in the same exact way the Ricks tortured the Morty's to create a psychic shield around their pocket universe.
If there even is another Diane out there (if they're not all dead which is what I think) I don't think Rick would want to get another Diane until he gets revenge on Rick Prime, just to make sure he's not around to do it again

It is indeed very fascinating how, rick found out which rick actually killed his family and then travel to that universe to replace him, i have an alternate theory like may be the bomb was meant to kill rick c 137 but instead, it created a chain of events that was unprecedented, and thus we have c137 who is definitely above all the other ricks, the rickest rick, and i think rick prime doen’t even know, because in the episode when he kills jerry, he is very unaware that who was it specifically, i guess, he is unaware of c 137s existence.

If she was still alive in the Cronenberg dimension she's likely dead now. She wouldn't have become a cronenberg, since she's related to Morty, but she might have been killed by one of the mantis people no doubt.
In my head cannon, either Rick could never make things work with Dianes from other universes, or she prevented Rick from being the smartest man in the universe. Therefore discarding all universes with Diane still alive when he created the central finite curve

Rick and Morty was a spoof of doc and Marty. They went to the producers of back to the future Harmon was told that they could not use time travel, and that’s why the portal gun was made. I believe that rule applies center still technically a spoof. And they’re most likely afraid due to the popularity of the show that Universal Studios might sue for the rights to Rick and Morty.
The infinite curve was not designed to protect c137 from not being the smartest rick he designed it as a trap to keep the rick prime within an attainable number after all if the realm is infinite you can not move or at least all movement would seem pointless as if it never happened but if you restrict the realm with a set parameter well then your game can only run so far

My headcannon for now is that, for a Rick to go multiversal, they need to lose Diane, one way or another. That's why Rick Prime killed Diane, so our Rick could be the 'best' version of himself. We have no evidence that the other Mortys we see have a grandma (or its Rick having a partner). So, our Rick knows that Prime stripped him of happiness in exchange for him to become a god, maybe that's why he wants revenge so bad.
Rick can find a Diane in a universe where she is single and down on her luck and that she never met him. Infinite realities.

Imagine this: Evil Morty traveled to a reality where Diane was the smartest in the universe and convinced her and her infinite selves to invade Rick's realities. Could make for in interesting episode if you ask me.
It's possible that the Finite Curve doesn't just block off dimensions where Rick isn't the smartest person, but also realities where Diane survived.
We saw how Rick intentionally tortured himself with his Diane bot, it's not much of a leap to think he would also want to separate himself from the possibility of seeing her again in person.
You know, i'd really love if Diane was shown like Gary's mother in Final Space.

Well considering that. Rick prime only killed. Diane and Beth, because Rick refused to go out and explore the world, it would be safe to assume another dimensions where he chose to go out and explore the world. Rick prime would have no reason to kill that. Diane and Beth, he only did that because Rick of that universe decided not to go out and explore the universe. So it would make sense that they would still be alive somewhere
I still say Diane is still alive and helping Rick Prime behind the scenes.

We now know why there is no Diane anywhere else. Rick got his revenge, but it still changes nothing for him.
Perhaps his new purpose is to build a reverse Omega machine that can bring back every other Diane that was erased, he won't be able to bring back his original Diane, but he can bring back every other Diane.
If he wasn't opposed to time travel he could probably just go back before Rick Prime used the omega machine on Diane and stop him or something.

My theory is that Rick and Diane Sanchez split the multiverse in two as part of their divorce settlement. That why their is no (real) Diane Sanchez on their side of the wall. On the other side of the wall that evil Morty went to Diane is the smartest person in the universe going on adventures with summer and Rick is the one that dead.

seems to me there are absolutes in the Rick and Morty universe and my thought is Diane is always dead -- it is likely all other universes split from rick prime where in his wife died in some matter (my fav is rick prime killed her) I believe rick prime created The Central Finite Curve to encapsulate all potential ricks into a universe where diane is always dead and in turn allowed him to travel through different universes to collect new technologies and further his mad scientist ideals.

Maybe he was on the edge of giving up since he did claim “That will be the best last idea in this garage” showing that he didn’t want to continue with science and wanted to go eat ice cream with his family

Mr nimbus is from the dimension after cronenberg which is an identical dimension to cronenberg which is Rick prime's which means that the one Mr nimbus was talking about was never even c137, this is also important when talking about ricks other partner before Morty it likely was never his but a partner Rick prime created and had (and a few other ricks made in the time they waited for Morty to be ready for adventures)

Considering that this involves the multi, verse, this could be a situation to where it's like in. Spider-Man with the spider verse. There are certain Canon events. Things that have to happen because it just in that way. They made sure those things happened, but in this one. What if it's something uncontrollable? No matter what University goes to she will die. Which is why we don't see her in the universe versus seeing everyone else
