I think the portal colors are a hint to certain qualities of the dimensions they travel to. It came to me during the episode where Rick and Morty are seperated from their toxic selves. Their toxic selves are a green very close to the portal color, and there free/liberated selves are golden. I think the central finite curve is a the toxic arm of the multiverse, and Evil Morty escaped into a golden portal, possibly a idealised/free arm of the multiverse
Alternatively, the green portal color might imply it being a universe where Rick is the smartest, and non green portals are unRicked dimensions

You are correct. These are themes used in the show.
Despite the infinite nature of the show it is somewhat predictable. The writers have a strong connection to non-direct communication and that's why we don't care about cannon. It's too predictable and easy. It's potential is limited. The best episodes are the ones that stretch out the journey.

What do you mean by ‘we don’t care about canon?’ I do to an extent. And I disagree, canon doesn’t have to predictable, the writers just don’t enjoy writing canon episodes and it’s as simple as that.
Pretty sure portal colors aren't that important and more for aesthetic to compliment the different characters, for one example the dinosaur episode where they shot a portal into the same universe which was pink outlined and see through, and when rick crushed the gun the contents of it were pink. then the more recent episode of s7e5 at the start you see thousands of different portals with different colors/patterns all traveling to the same place. There's also the part in that episode where rick and evil morty both used their portal guns to the same dimensions and even combined them with primes black fluid to travel to another dimension in the curve. Although I may just be completely wrong :P
Just want to point out that armor Morty is actually from the season four episode where they got face huggers stuck to their faces. And it was a more of a reference to mobile suit gundam.

Didn't rick restarted portal travellers? That would mean evil morty would've gone back to his original universe, without being able to get out easily since there was no more portal travel at that time.

Just thought of this theory of Morty-Rick that maybe they weren’t originally combined and maybe the Rick and Morty in that universe were in a experiment made by Rick and the machine combined the two, fusing them into one person.
I loved evil morty in season 7 helping Rick take down Rick prime while stealing the plans and the interface device leaving the possibility of Rick and the rest of the family being wiped from every dimension in infinity just so Rick can have his vengeance on Rick prime with 2 more episodes left in season 7 I feel like we’re going to get one more appearance by evil morty

Wouldn't the "Council of Mortys" mean there is a version of Rick coming up with a plan similar to evil morty to get out of their version of the Central Finite Curve? Don't think they would adapt that idea into anything, due to it being essentially the same story with just Rick and Morty swapped around- but it's fun to think about! It could also mean that beth, jerry, and summer as well as numerous other characters could be switched- like seeing a beth that gets treated like how jerry is treated and vise versa. I just thought the whole concept was cool and could lead to some very cool stories if used right, but i doubt it will be. Still cool though!

Rick Morty makes me tjink of two theories:
1: Morty and Rick shared their brain like Rick and Jerry did, leading to Morty's already developed intellect to combine with Rick's and make him a younger version of Rick and Older than Morty. His Rick either dies to Rick Prime or gets some of Morty's Emotional Growth and is currently learning how to be a better person.
2) As you mentioned, the fan made film calls out a Rick who sacrifices himself and saves Morty from, IIRC, a final erasure sent by the Council of Ricks, which leads to civilization being destroyed and rebuilt by Morty who we see grow older and turn into Rick. The same Rick who died saving him its implied. What if this is that Rick breaking out of the Time Loop he's in either by his own initiative or the Council's Early Intervention? That would explain why he's still both Morty and Rick in a weird mashup that he ends up being.
2:21 Maybe this "Mortyrick or Rickmorty" is a version of "Rick and Morty" that have put aside their differences, and decided that it is better for themselves to become a one unified entity "the best of both in one body." They are Rick and Morty in one person, yet this character is something of its own. Or they were forced to merge, due to injuries, or at the will of an unknown power. 🤔
