Nice to see the ol gal in use for this vid and thought that motor grader looked rather familiar lol. Thanks for sharing one of the other sides to wrecker work that doesnt typically get shown. Its not always the rescue you guys do.. its the mundane moving of stuff or indeed crane work where a firm hires a wrecker as opposed to a crane to move something in a yard (i believe you did a crane lift off 2months back from the back of a lorry in a lumber yard)

I here a old school Cummins. I grew up running those old school trucks. Good to see them still used. Amazing how technology has advanced in the towing industry. Running new equipt makes it a lot easier. But there is nothing like hearing those old mechanical winches. They would pull until something broke. That is why you needed to listen to the noise they make to tell when is enough. Enjoy seeing your videos.

Also love taking and showing a little pride in the machines that I have to use. I do not mean putting chrome and stuff on it, just taking good care of it the way it is. Hate to see good machines going for that Last Ride.

I have just 1 question. Do you think having a rusty looking truck hurts your business? The reason I ask is when I first started in the tow truck business I drove a company truck and it was rusty just like your truck is. Having a rusty truck I got all the bottom feeder work. I did not make as much as the guys with the nice looking trucks. So when I felt I could afford to buy a brand new 1 ton tow truck I really started making money. I did not get all the shit jobs anymore. Now I am out of the business as my body could no longer do it. I do miss it a lot but health should come first.

I worked in my uncle's garage back in the early 1970's, running his Holmes 440 and 500 wreckers. I was always after him to buy a 750 so we could move into recovery of big trucks but I could never talk him into it. Finally, one of his competitors in town showed up with a brand new 750 - it looked like a real monster. The 750 and 850 ruled the road back then. Thanks for posting these videos of that old workhorse.
