Simple Winchout .... NOT!

- In this video, I was sent to winch out a tractor trailer loaded with 42,000 lbs. It was suppose to be a simple winch out. Upon arrival I discovered a driver had tried to turn around in someone's front yard. We used our 30 ton to winch the unit backwards and our 50 ton to lift the tractor nose and twist it so the driver could drive out. LOL! My Ole Grand Dad said, "Son, when a man tells you I'm jus' a little stuck you need to get two more mules and pull your boot strings tight - It's goin' to be Rough!"
Mr EG I like that saying. Thanks for watching and stay safe
5;26 "i do not know what this driver was thinking" Simple he was not thinking at all
Mr Woody That is a very true statement. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
I'am a retired driver and looking at this video I agree with you I DON"T KNOW WHAT THIS DRIVER WAS THINKING. It is hard to believe that this driver is allowed to be on the road. You sure had your hands full Mr. Hal great job sir.
Mr Russell thanks for watching and stay safe
There are worse truckers on the road. Sergei Dratchev has shown such a guy on his channel.
Unfortunately now days anyone that can breath can get a CDL.
@@Bama1963 Well said !!
Hello Summit 1234, what is a CDL? I am from Germany.
This shortage of drivers in the country are putting some unsafe people behind the wheel of 80,000 lbs. and that is scary
Mr Todd51 Thanks for watching our channel and stay safe
" I do not know what this driver was thinking"... Boy was that an understatement. People do strange things sometimes. Glad y'all were able to get him out.
Mr Johnny thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
I know exactly what he was thinking. He seen what looked like a big wide open area & tried to make a U-Turn.
The skills that driver had..
😂😂😂
Guyonabuffalo100 Thanks for watching and stay safe
I feel like I was raised a spoiled child. My only experience watching any "wrecker" videos came from Pepe's Towing with the rotators.
Watching you shows the "old school" with lessons on how to rig. Am enjoying the class so far...so long as you dont pass out "pop quizzes" I'll be fine...smiles

Another good Pole like you I was wondering what the hell was the driver thinking. 👍👍😀🇨🇦

Gives a whole new meaning to low country GAWD, Good work.
Mr Allen thank you for watching and stay safe
Being a driver of 36 years, I would’ve requested the police have that driver drug tested. He did enough damage to get a mandatory drug screen done.
Howdy Mr. Hall Howdy Joe I am watching your video you take care of your customer and they take care of you
Mr Eric thanks for watching and stay safe
I drove a homes just like that for Anaheim Fullerton Towing many years.
Great job!
CDL ISN'T FOR EVERYONE! 🙂
Mr Dean thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Nothing is never simple!! Was a simple fix with right tools and knowledge. Love the video! Also I am sure the landowner surely was not proud of this steering wheel holder. If he was a truck driver he would not have been there.
Mr Kenny We appreciate you watching our channel and stay safe
"I don't know what this driver was thinking ". The last word of that statement says it all. I believe the problem was caused by a short between the seat & the steering wheel.
Mr Greg That made me laugh. Thanks for watching and stay safe
i was going to say that good one Mr Greg
Hahaha! Thats a good one!

Excellent video, plus I like the way you tried to minimise the damage to the truck and the yard, thanks for posting.K

You said you didn't know what the driver was thinking. He couldn't have been thinking. While it may be fun to watch a big rotator you can see elsewhere, you can really measure a man's skill when he is underequipped but gets the job done with what he has as opposed to his preferred truck. Making the smaller truck do the job is great to watch.
Mr Will I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching our channel and stay safe
Today on unresolved mysteries let's try to find out how the hell that driver managed to end up there.
Mr Ole Skool Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
@@SumterWrecker My pleasure, sir. You stay safe, your job is not an easy one. I did it for a short stint a while ago to help my boss back then as he had no one willing to do it.
Short cut
@@darrellroeters4951 It was a short cut to disaster and a hefty bill for sure. In all seriousness it looks like the guy was looking for a place to turn around, but used very poor judgment, to say the least.
I bet the home owner was very upset. Nice work Mr Hal.
Mr Jimmy he was. He wanted to make sure his yard was going to be fixed. Thanks for watching and stay safe
@@SumterWrecker Just to make a little light of the situation. I'm an over the road trucker with about 27 years experience. A couple of years ago, I did a boo-boo. Not this bad, but I did stick my front tires up into some guys back yard, that edged along a commercial warehouse. Oh yea, the home owner seen me do it, & he called the cops. They told him there wasn't nothing they could do about that. So anyway he was double pissed off. He came out as I had just got loaded & was doing my bills. He came up casually & struck up a conversation about the situation with me. I knew I did wrong & admitted guilt to the guy. I tried to show him that I wasn't the only one using his back yard as a pivot point. At the same time I was feeling bad for the guy because I knew I did wrong. I asked him If I could fix his back yard up in a way where it would protect itself from other truckers like me, if that would please him. He said yes it would. I told him a local landscaping crew would be by within the next week & show him the plans. We shook hands & off he went with my name, phone number, Company I drove for & number to my Safety Director, & my drivers license number, just incase the landscaping crew didn't show up he would be able to file a damage report to his home insurance company with a police report. I contacted a local landscaping crew who was more than willing to help us out. They had a big mammoth rock that just found itself a new squatting place. Along with a few flowers & some sod, his back yard was appealing again. The old boy emailed a picture of the yard after it was complete. Looked pretty good. It cost me just a little over $1250.00 for using his back yard as a pivot point. I'm glad he didn't file charges on my dumb butt, & was happy to pay the bill.

The nerve of this driver to just tear someone's property up. Mr. Hal you should have taken this guy's man card away from him. That was a heavy pull for that 30 Ton but it handled it like a monster that it is. Nice recovery Mr. Hal. Stay safe my friend.
Mr Dan we appreciate that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Get your CDL in just 4 weeks, and take to the streets. I watch several towing channels, and have seen stuff that makes me wonder how they were able to get a CDL in the first place. I drove a 33,000 pound fire truck for 8 years. I never left pavement, unless it was a hard packed dirt driveway. As always great job Mr. Hal and Joe

LOL...... Hal, when you said that that driver can't drive very well I would say that was a pretty fair assumption given the spot he was in, frankly, I don't know how in the world he got his CDL.
Homeless Nomad Yes sir. I wish I filmed him leaving. He tried to make a right turn from the right side. Thanks for watching our older videos and stay safe.
Looks to me like yet another driver who found his CDL in a box of Cracker Jacks. I started driving professionally in 1972, no CDL's back then, you had to get a 'chauffeur license'. And it wasn't easy to get unless you really knew how to handle a big rig and could prove it. Seems now if you can sit in the seat and your feet reach the pedals and you can see over the steering wheel that's the only requirement. Common sense optional. Great job, Hal and Joe!
