Prime Mishap!!! Using the K. I. S. S. Method...

- Again, I wish to thank everyone who has expressed their prayers and/or condolences for the death of my Dad. The outpouring of support from my viewers has been tremendous and has helped in this difficult time. May God bless each and every one of you. Also, thank you for your patience. I am still making videos, but I took a couple weeks off-call after my dad passed, so I wasn't doing very many jobs. This is another job trying to get to the new normal without Dad. I will continue to perform jobs and create videos, as long as God allows. Things will be different moving forward. I have to trust that God will guide me and this channel.
So, in this video, I'm not quite certain how it happened, but a driver with a loaded spread axle flatbed found himself in a PRIME Mishap... The truck was in a ditch, bottomed out, and about to drop off a deep culvert. The loaded trailer was twisted and pushing the drives of the prime mover (tractor) down into the ditch until the dolly legs dug in. All coming to rest under our ARC nemesis, the overhead power lines. My first thought was to lift it out to prevent rupturing a fuel tank or creating other damage, but upon closer inspection, I decided that perhaps the K.I.S.S. method (Keep It Simple Stupid) would be better suited to this task. We shall see if I was correct.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taking the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!

Prayers for you and your family Ron. I know your dad would be proud of you for carrying on his legacy by keeping the family business going. Your dad raised a good man. God bless you.
Well said, BRAVO!!!
We are so happy to see Ron return! Keep the faith!
bravo ditto and all that jazzz
You are blessed to have had your dad with you all these years. My dad passed away when I was 9. Now I'm 56 and still miss him (and my mom who passed away 30 years after him). I often wonder how life would have been with him by our side when I grew up.
I lost my Dad suddenly when I was 16. I often wonder the same. I miss him as much today as the day he died
I feel the same way as you do PA. My dad died in 1964 at age 51, I was 7. My mom died in 1970, age 53, I was 13. I'm 65 and not a day goes by I don't think of them and wonder if they'd be proud of me and my decisions in my life.
I can certainly relate to your situation. I lost my dad when I was age 8, from ALS, and have no memories of him whatsoever. I lost my mom from a possible heart attack sitting across the table from me when I was age 46. Now in my mid-60s, and I’m now only one left in the family.
I'm with you on that, mine passed when I was 5, I'm also 56 and luckily Mom is still chugging along at 84. And, yeah, I still miss my Dad as well, even though I really did not get the chance to know him. You're a strong man, Ron, and seemingly strong with your faith. It'll take time, even though you might not think so now, you got this.
PA I lost my dad when I was 15 years old and I am now 61 and yes I miss him also wish you were still here I wish I could have had a dad to grow up with but you and I are basically in the same boat but we are blessed to be alive God bless you my brother from the great state of Kentucky and have a very merry Christmas
Yay Ron is back in the saddle! Your pops stowed a lot of wisdom in you. You got this!
I wait for you every day. And I like to follow everything new
KISS is one of the most under rated principals in everything
Thats an understatement lol
K.eep I.t S.imple , S.tupid

This video proves, Ron, that your method of making small, effective moves can even work with human issues. You inspire us all! Thanks so much--
I once raised a Gas tanker from a 25 meter ravine in my country, but I’m impressed to your methods Ron..I’m learning a lot…continue the good work helping drivers and the like on their road life….
Could watch the rotator work all day.
One hard working machine. Thanks for a boost in to the weekend.
A prime example of a guy having places to turn around and not using them
He could have at least stop chewing his gum and blowing bubbles and listened to you for a few seconds. Anyway great job as always Ron. Great Respect to your dear Father
chewing gum and blowing bubbles is a stress reliever and I don't really blame him. That was a very stressful thing to have happen.
Blowing bubbles is a lost art. 😉
It's only disrespectful if you take it that way. I myself wouldn't be blowing bubbles, but he clearly wasn't trying to disrespect Ron. The dude was stressed and chewing is a natural way of ridding stress.
The guy followed rons instructions with no issue
haha. the company have plenty room why he end up like that?
I'm so sorry Ron to hear about your Dad passing away, it's been awhile since I had not watched your videos with so many things I had been going through myself, I too lost 2 people in my life, one of my old girlfriend had past away from a massive heart attack at the age of 55 back in May of this year, 2021 and 4 months later I lost one of my aunt at the age of 83, she had woken up one morning feeling fine but after about a couple of hours that morning she started to feel the worse pain in her chest cavity that was getting worsen and by the time we called 911 for the Paramedic to come out, she was already dead. I know it's hard to lose a loved ones and a close friend, my old girlfriend passing away truly hit me the hardest and still today I can't believe she's gone, I still cared about her even as friends.
I'll be saying a prayer for you and your family Ron.
That young driver was extremely blessed you were the one answering R/A's call! What we witnessed here was nothing less than experience and dedication to the recovery industry. God bless you and keep you safe .
PRIME???? I hope they keep him out of the caves over here in Springfield !!!!! Great video Ron Glad you are doing ok!!!!! Be safe my friend!!!
Ron, your dad seemed like a great man and It looks like he taught and raised you well!. My condolences for you and your family!
I don't understand why more people don't use a winch, not that a recovery strap would work here, but the control, power and versatility of a winch is in my mind superior.
Ones choice can be advice.
Good morning have a great day and a blessed day 🙏❤🎅🤶🌲
First, sorry for the loss of your father sir. Second thank you for your dedication to un-snafuing situations drivers get into.
You probably don’t even realize it but your cool and calm demeanor about the situation likely did a lot to calm a very stressed out driver.
Be safe out there sir. Thank you for everything you do.
Are you Jenna from Driver Lineup? If so, hopefully y’all will never need Ron’s services!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO true. That young driver must have been real ticked off when he did this.
Ron your father must have been proud of the way you worked within the companyand now at this sad time you manage to carry on the name of"Midwest Thank you for the post My thoughts with you &your family " Please stay safe &keep em posted
So glad to see you are coming back at your own speed. It will take time.... its been over a year since I lost my dad and I'm still not back to normal, if there is such a thing as "NORMAL"! May god bless you and your family and always know that your dad will forever be watching over you and your family until you meet again in heaven! I have found comfort in your videos in my time of loss and hurt with losing my dad. I have always felt a since of family and friendship in your videos and that is a comforting thing to see and feel while going what you and I, and I am sure many others are or have gone through. Thank You!
Rookie mistake but he is ok . No damage to truck or trailer . Another beautiful job done by Ron and Tator
Definitely
Yes,a safe recovery and no damage to,Any Vehicle. Happy holidays!! G
Just a simple mistake is all even experienced drivers can do this
That's just something you learn from experience as he probably thought being off the road just a hair wasn't an issue, but then the tandem started sliding. I don't know the whole story though.
A good lesson learnt. Hopefully he doesn't repeat it.
The precarious situations drivers get themselves into is really something else. Nice work on the recovery Ron!
Never a doubt Mr Pratt
By I never doubted you mr Pratt
Best looking truck on the road
Watched clear on a semi off an overpass yesterday. All day job about 16 hrs total. Nice guys and decent rotator but didn't do as much as the tator. Was able to relate a lot from your channel as far as equipment used. Thanx for the lessons.
Good Morning Mr. Ron Pratt From Savannah Tennessee
Again Ron so sorry for your family’s loss. Thoughts and Prayers are going out. I know that was one of your dads many favorite sayings.
Big fish out of a little ditch. I was waiting for that fancy front bumper to pull right off the truck. Nice Job Ron!
Or bend a good bit but thankfully they seem to have funtional tow grab points
Welcome back Ron, we missed u and Love u very much. I, too, just recently lost my stepdad in the past 2 weeks so I know what you and your family are going though. Thoughts and Prayers all around. God Bless
You just have to love them aluminum flatbeds. They love turning themselves into pretzels.
yes the tow hooks on the tractor look more decorative than functional.
At least they’re loops, sideloading the straight hooks can be problematic.
Thats also scary😳
I would completely agree, but in this case, that type of deer guard is popular with many companies & drivers. I have one like it, the hooks on the front of mine are very stout, it would hold a great deal of stress.
Ron, when you said: "this will be interesting" your Dad was no doubt looking down on you from Heaven, laughing and saying: "watch my son!"
Well stated.
Ron I am sure there are not many people who understand K.I.S.S. From what I saw you made all the correct moves and made it look easy. Glad you back in the saddle again. Stay safe this holiday season.
There's a fine difference between K.I.S.S and brute force and ignorance. The latter can sometimes result in unwanted overkill.
There are a few meanings of K.I.S.S .
Good Morning, I'm very sorry for your loss, may our Heavenly Father continue to comfort you and your family. Your Father's work has been done. God Bless you and your family
That is a cool tow truck and an even better Operator!! Great Job!!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍👍
Thoughts are with you, and great to see you slowly getting back to a new future with your Dad watching over you.
Bless you and your family. Dad was right, life goes on. He would want you to continue. Great to see you back. 👏👏🥰🥰
Could be wrong but almost looks like the momentum of the trailer pushed it further off the edge when one drive axle dropped off and killed traction on the cab.. insteresting but unfortunate situation to have ended up in
That was great Ron. You always make it look so easy. That sure could have been a whole lot different. Good job. Take care and have a good one. 👍👍👍❤️🙏
That could have been a lot worse. Great job Ron. I'm surprised those bumper attachments held up. God bless
A very nice video, wish you a quiet Advent season and a peaceful Christmas holiday, God bless you, mfg Ernst from Augsburg / Germany
I always feel the need to stand and cover my heart with my hand when your videos start. It's a good feeling. Good work Sir. And my condolences on the passing of your Father. Treasure each and every memory. Been there, doing that, as I lost my Dad 56 years ago when I was 13. Keep doing what you are doing. A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Great to see you back in the saddle Ron. You are a credit to your Dad he taught you well and it shows in the way you can carry on with him watching over you. God bless you and your family.
Like always Ron Pratt you done amazing putting it back in road
Ron, I’ve been watching the channel for many years now and I must give you credit for the way I now know how to be safer using the cranes at work. Everything from rigging to small, slow moves I’ve learned from you. Thank you!
Ron, thank you for making to drivers day so much better. As you said, it could have been a whole lot worse. You are a blessing for the motoring public. You Dad did good!🇺🇸
Great job 👍👍👍😎👌👌👍
God has blessed you with the ability to apply knowledge at the appropriate time and the wisdom to see what the result could be. I believe your father could see that more than you know and he was proud of you.
Yes, lunch with Mr Ron, spot on time.
Hi Ron ... You and your family are still in my prayers
😘K.I.S.S! VERY NICE!
Keep moving forward, Ron! I like your Dads mantra "Life must go on!" My family has something similar to say during hard times! It is "Keep your chin up!" I guess I've always took that to mean you have to look ahead cause you have your chin up!
Another Great job Ron. You & that Rotator make it look easy lol. She does A GREAT job & they pull didn't phase her at all :)
Good job Ron as always 👍👍👍👍👍👏 God Bless !
Good to see you back in action. Have a blessed and happy New Year. Young drivers, gotta love em. My Dad was a trainer for the company he drove for, always said the young ones keep mechanics and you're truck operators in business.
It's difficult not to have just a bit of truck envy. That is an amazing piece of equipment, but without the knowledge and experience of its operator, it wouldn't of nearly the use. Great job, once again, and my absolute condolences on the loss of your father.
Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family Ron. Please know that you're Dad taught you well and will never be forgotten. God bless him.
One day at a time, one step at a time brother. They will be days that hurt, it's normal. It's been since 2014 for mom 2017 for dad. I feel them & talk sometimes. God bless y'all. 🙌
Condolences 💐
Ron Pratt you're the real deal. I've been a trucker for over twenty five years and I'm so impressed with your professionalism. You made it look so easy sir.
Another job well done. Liked how you set the trailer brakes and pulled on the truck. I was also curious about the landing gear on the trailer but when the truck came out they came up. I always appreciate your slow steady winching. Such a key. Thank you & God bless.
I’m glad you’re feeling good enough to work again. I know your Dad will ride with you always. The peace of the Lord be always with you ✝️
I am glad to see you back doing what you an your dad loved doing . I pray for your family daily . Now you have another Angle watching over you
Ron - You know your equipment and principles of leverage and angles so well that it is always amazing to watch you do your stuff. To top things off your interaction with clients and emergency/law enforcement is just as amazing. Everybody has respect for you and the decisions you make on the job. It is so refreshing to watch someone who believes in excellence on the job.
I don't have to say this but I will, I miss your father and your family remains in my prayers. The pain never goes away, just easier to cope with. Hold on to your blessed memories you had with your father, and know he is always with each and every one of your family. Close your eyes and see that memory come to life.
God Bless you , your family , and your crew Ron ! Your Dad is proud of you and will always be with you , in your thoughts and your Heart !
Never, I mean NEVER underestimate Ron Pratt!
So nice to see a "Well-oiled machine" of a man, when Ron is setting up the equipment! My deepest condolences Ron, to you and your entire family, from Denmark
Ja det er sgu spændende at se Ron og hans team arbejde , men det også sørgeligt at miste et nært familie medlem , men Ron er stærk sådan er amerikanerne
Another job well done Ron as always fantastic video keep doing what you do
How many times did this driver "get out and look" ? Me thinks none .
At least he wasn't wearing flip-flops !
Drivers, save the flip-flops for showering at a truck stop.
Considering flip flops and sandals are not legal in the US for a commercial driver to wear while behind the wheel
Good morning Ron & family! Stay safe out there today
As an operator from 94-00, with what I've seen/ done, Ron is "The SHIt"!!! He's always so safety conscious, always a great teacher to much patience, and always so basic, mot tossing put tech terms expectng people to understand. Id love to have a boss like Ron.
I discovered your channel yesterday and I'm hooked! (Pun intended 🤣) love your videos and keep up the great work
How does that happen with all the room he had
Absolutely great job Ron you rock like always. Love watching your videos. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family
Ps I would love to have one of your hats.
Ron, first off prayers to you and your family. Second of all watching you work is amazing. Be safe out there.
So much space around there and he goes off the side of the road? I don't get some drivers...Not sure what the driver was thinking....
Unfamiliar with the area
My condolences Ron, I only discovered your channel yesterday but what a blast! I'm just a towing truck enthusiast but I believe a lot of truckers can learn much from you. God bless!
I live just south of Springfield Missouri and I see Prime trucks getting towed DAILY
I don't see them being towed daily. You must have a sixth sense of when they are going to be towed or maybe I just work more than you! Hmmm
I am sure everyone at Midwest Truck is taking really good care of you keep strong Ron
Wow that was a tight pull. Impressive!
I'm wiping away tears re dad and you say, dadgum power lines ... and now I'm laughing too ... My heart still hurts w yours Ron!!!
Your dear dad taught you well Ron. Just watching your professionalism, is worth its weight in gold. Thank you for taking time to document all this and then share it. We're truly inspired by your commitment. Great job! As usual.
Im with you. I dont trust their little screw in loop things. They dont appear to be that strong and thats alot of weight your trying to move
Glad to see you back at it Ron great job. Your dad is always with you sir
Your dad will always be watching over you. He will be that whisper in your ear when things get stressful or tough.
Ron, very saddened to hear you say on this video that your “Dad, had passed away”!!! 🙏ers for you, your family and your co-workers!!
Good to see you getting back out but don't forget to take care of yourself and your family. 💔🙏
Great work! It's been quite a few tense moments, watching that trailer bend like a banana...
Sorry to hear about your father Ron. I love your RUclips videos I’m a truck driver myself. Your line of work towing and rescuing is something so amazing that’s part of the trucking industry I was truckers appreciate people like you Hope you have a merry Christmas Ron!
Keep up the good work, be SAFE. God Bless
Glad to see ya getting back into the grind Ron been praying for ya buddy .
Great Recovery Ron. God Bless and see ya next video. By the way, it’s really relaxing watching all the recoveries that don’t include people that are hurt.
Hey Ron,
This was so much better than earlier videos. This video did not show miles of the road getting to the scene, it was just the hard work at the scene! AWESOME
Watching you and your dad retrieving the abandoned van from way back in the forest got me "hooked" on watching your channel. My father passed back in 1988, and how I wish we had home movies or videos so that his great grandchildren could know the sound of his voice and watch how he dealt with life's little challenges. Bless you and your family, and cherish the memories.
Praying for you Ron and family, it's hard losing love ones I kno myself.
so sorry for the loss of your dad prayers going up for you Ron and your family
Ron great video, good to see you back after your Dads passing, that’s what your Dad would want! God bless you and your family! Kevin
Good morning sir. Hope all is well. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
#wherestalon
Hey Ron!!! Loving the videos, wish I could've seen you helping out that truckie get into the dock.
I got excited thinking he was going to show it!!! Then not.....o well, still a riveting video!
Awesome recovery Ron. I'm new to your channel. It's nice to see how different it is today with all the new technologies, it's much safer for you as well. It's a pleasure to meet you Ron. I hope you have a great weekend 😀.
Your dad still lives within your memories and your heart, many blessings to you and your family.
Love the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple and Safe in this case).
Ron, have a safe day. Have a great Christmas and safe New Year to you and your family/team. God bless you guys, stay safe in whatever you do on a daily basis. Your friend, Bob Compton from, maryland
Great recovery, Ron. But I seem to have heard a squeak in your white snatch block when you started pulling the White line. I didn't hear it in the blue one.
Ron, glad you are back on the horse; know how hard it must be. Your old man would want it that way. Trust me, he is with you on every job now.
Thanks, Ron, for another interesting recovery. Belated condolences for your father. Thinking of you and your dad reminded me of my own father. May both their voices join with the angels in glorifying God.
