The newscasters would blather away with unsupported opinions, misstatement of facts, and so forth. But I guess they had to fill the silence with something. One of the best spoofs of that was on a Two and a Half Men episode where a running gag is that everybody keeps calling the Porsche Boxter that Alan bought a "chic car." A drunk woman steals it, and there is the helicopter view on TV being chased by police. The newscaster "Trish" is talking to the helicopter reporter "Dale. ”Dale, this is Trish in the studio. Can you see the suspect? How do you know it's a woman?" "Well, Trish, we actually don 't know it's a woman... but thought it was a safe bet based on the type of car."

The first person version of this with the Trooper's dashcam was INTENSE... it's amazing how aerial footage makes it look so much slower, but that Trooper was driving the shit out of that car and was the most epic PIT and recovery ever.
The cameras in the cruisers have wide angle lenses, which make the scene seem to be much faster than what is actually happening. For instance, something 100 feet away looks to be 200 feet away, so the perceived 200 feet is covered in the time that the actual 100 feet is covered, which doubles the perceived speed of the event.
Man, the moment the trooper went for the pit.This view lets you see and almost feel the speed they were going.And then that save from the trooper after the pit.Epic !
I saw this same chase from the cruiser cam. Pretty interesting to see it from the air. The cruiser cam footage of the suspect’s vehicle post-pit is epic, because cruiser not only has front cameras but also side and rear cameras. Thanks.

I've seen this from the dashcam view, it is nice to see it from an aerial view, certainly shows it makes it hard to hide when there is helicopter support.
Incredible cohesiveness between air traffic, ground, and dispatch to get this guy stopped! That trooper needs commendation for keeping his vehicle on the road after that PIT! In most other videos I've watched lately containing PIT maneuvers, both the civilian and municipal vehicles get totaled! Congrats on the apprehension to all involved. Stay safe, stay blessed!
@@everythingshih-tzu3146 you don't have to be a plumber to know that a tap is dripping. I don't have to be any sort of driver to have see ASP get or right at much higher speeds. There are plenty of YT videos showing how it's done. The problem in this case was that the PIT was a collision instead of a push. That sets up all sorts of instability in the patrol car. As I say, look for ASP, they touch, push and control from the start and all the way through.

Pensacola FHP on patrol. I know this area very well as this pursuit passed my uncles house. I always said that they may outrun the vehicles but you can never outrun the radio. Great Job! 💯👍👍😎🛡️🇺🇸

Geoffrey Alpert claims, that if you back off, the suspect will slow down.
I am sure that safe recovery after a PIT attempt IS trained in advanced driving - we've all seen videos where the LEO can't PIT because they are not trained or certified. AND we've all seen those videos where, despite training, the LEO vehicle ends up causing injury and/or is damaged beyond salvage. I am sure we all remember the AR LEO who went airborne: "Arkansas State Police cruiser goes airborne after 109 MPH pit manoeuvre"
Appreciate the aerial footage. When a driver hits multiple cars and is driving on the wrong side of the road, the PIT authorization should be automatic. And get the comms fixed. No unit should be locked out of a channel for that long. I think the priority should be given to air units, especially in a chase.
I think FL will do a better job at holding him accountable than WI would’ve. If WI had done their job, he wouldn’t be in FL being a threat to children in school buses.
I saw the troopers POV a few days ago. Watching the pit to “her” stumbling was hilarious. Then their crying and pleading in the back of the troopers car, and when he closed the door his crying stopped immediately. True psychopath right there.
That recovery by the officer after the pit was a thing of beauty. ALmost looked like he planned it. Had he jumped out and did "ta-da!" I would've clapped.

Well, THAT was a FABULOUS test for the Audi sedan! Barrel-roll a number of times and driver walks away. VERY good tracking and calling from FHP Air31.
