  • The 2024 Fiat 500e is resetting the standard for the much-loved Italian brand. The next-generation successor to the reborn 500 city car is - in a sign of the times - predictably fully electric, which might just prove to be the best thing to shore up its long-term future, not only in terms of increasingly stringent emissions standards, but also drivability.
We've already reviewed the new 500e three-door in Italy and in Australia, but for this expert review CarsGuide Senior Journalist Tom White lives with the light hatchback for three months to find out the good, the bad and the ugly of owning one.
In this video, he deep-dives the Mini Cooper Electric rival's pricing, features, safety, aftersales support, design and practicality, while also sharing his driving impressions of the EV. Speaking of which, its all-important driving range and battery charging is also covered from a real-world perspective.

Looking to buy an acid green Arbarth version in the next 6 mths myself. As a city car the range is totally fine. I simply do not understand the whole range thing and why people need more than 150km of range for a city car.

When I test drove it, it does make you feel joyful and it's a great car, but it's a bit expensive.

Holy hell!!! 50K 😱....and I bet they aren't anymore reliable than their combustion relatives. Cant see how you could say they are 'much loved' in Oz....Ive never met anyone who liked them or had a big enough wallet to keep fixing them

I’ve always had a soft spot for the Fiat 500, but this car should not cost more than $40,000 drive away.
