However, I still occasionally get visits despite cutting the cables to the aerial on the roof. A couple of years ago I filled out the form online only to be sent another reminder three months later. I ignored this and they pretended to send the authorities round claiming to have a court order to search my home. I promptly told them to eff off and things got kind of intimidating afterwards, with threatening phone calls from someone claiming to be a police officer telling me to buy a tv license or else. Eventually I did get through to someone in the BBC who was apparently mystified how this could have happened. No more visits since, and I am also disabled.

I have to say, I've been declaring No Licence Needed for the past 15 years and never had a letter or a visit from TV Licencing in all that time, except the letters every 2 years when I just renew my No Licence Needed declaration. It only takes a couple of minutes and, in my case anyway, I believe it's stopped me getting nasty letters or visits from them and doesn't put me to any inconvenience to declare every 2 years. I understand I shouldn't have to do that but it gives me peace of mind that I won't get some rat on my doorstep while my declaration is in force. It's possible that they are getting more heavy with people who have only recently declared No Licence Needed because so many people are now opting out of TV Licence and they're getting worried about it.

Thought to add here Jon that since I first saw you on RUclips, I cancelled my licence and haven't bothered buying one since - 3 years ago now even though, I still get the letters!. Interestingly, the missus (who wasn't 100% on-board with my decision) had a small operation the other week and was sat in Hospital for 24 hours to recuperate and all she had was the Beeb (1&2) and a few ITV channels. She literally couldn't wait to get home to watch what she wanted, when she wanted and how she wanted where there are no adverts for charity every 15 minutes and mind-numbing BBC programs - most of which she's seen before anyway. The point being, if people just took a two week vacation from Broadcast TV and iPlayer, they'd soon realise that the £157 fee isn't worth a penny. Keep up the good work mate and thanks again for your devotion for trying to get rid of this taxation for the Government Broadcasting Corporation.

Yup, currently on the 'no license needed' (NLN) thing - and yes, after 2 years, got that letter and renewed over the phone - very pleasant about it, I simply told them, "Both my wife & I are gamers, so we have no time for TV. At best we watch stuff 'on demand' via RUclips, Netflix and on Disney+. Nope, no Sky, BBC, ITV, or iPlayer - in fact, other than Dr Who (which I may watch round at my son's), I can't think of the last thing the BBC made that I was even tempted by. Nope, this isn't going to change any time soon - no, not even for the Coronation." Total call time less than 5 minutes. I did learn, however, that those letters are pushed out by an automated system that checks all postal addresses against those that have licences and that there's no provision to 'flag' addresses as being NLN. Suggested very strongly that they should add one - which they said would be "passed up the chain" ... not that they will, of course. Happy to continue this route for the time being - especially as it's only a 5 minute call every 2 years and, if the wind continues to blow its current course, hopefully they'll drop the whole thing soon - especially if they wish to keep all that advertising revenue and selling all their best content to the USA - lol

Interesting to think about telling them that you don't need a license. I'm guessing by when you do that online, you have to give them your details, primarily your name! That way, they can send letters to the person directly, rather than the occupier because they can't prove who is living in the property the way you're doing it.
I think the government has some major involvement with the BBC, because I reckon the government can tell the BBC what to put in the news items, whereas it can change the perspective of things that puts them in a good light, rather than the terrible stuff they've been doing over the past few years (this can apply to both the BBC and the government!).
Love your channel and it's always good to see the updates.
We pay for our license because my wife is worried about getting fined, but as I tell her, most of the time she's watching things that are on Netflix or RUclips (or Disney Plus when my youngest decides he wants to watch TV with us).
I binned Sky TV and Broadband off because they got too expensive and greedy. It went up from £60 a month, to £68 (nothing I could do apparently because I agreed to it when I renegotiated my contract, previously it never went up when I was in contract) and then they said the cheapest I could have it was around £84!!!!
I could have had a streaming Sky service for around £64 but that wasn't able to record anything. I thought to myself "What's the point in paying all that money then when I could simply buy a freeview or freesat recording box for £299 and within 5 months, it's cheaper than what Sky is charging and I get to keep it, unlike Sky equipment?" Suffice to say, I had an alternative internet provider cheaper than what they are charging and when the contract is up, I will be contacting another provider if they can't give me a good deal.

Should be getting my declaration soon then. Haven't had a letter or visit since I signed the first one.

If they're selling the EastEnders Studios, it doesn't bode well for them.

I told them over 2 year ago I didn't need a licence and if anyone came to my door after the fact it would be taken as harassment and I would be treating it as such, haven't heard a peep since.

I did the no licence require nearly 13 months ago because I cancelled my licence and I wanted a refund. I play a straight game and I have yet to get a letter or visit since I cancelled.
If things change in the future I'll keep you updated.
Cheers for your informative videos, they really helped me make the decision after the BBC cancelled Mock the Week.

From experience even though they say no harassment for two years on a "not needed decleration", after a year I got a letter roughly stating "since you may have moved, we will now harass you again unless you self-declare again"...
