      Ah yes but that is because of "The unique way that the BBC is funded" e.g. your money and a few discrete sidelines. The Irony of me watching all that free live TV and never getting 'detected'. Come and detect me now - my TV has not been on in over a year. Bye-Bye-Bee-Bee-Cee and thanks for all the fish.

    • @markosmith8037
      @markosmith8037 16 дней назад +1

      I used to think that, but I read an explanation on here to the contrary. Basically they CAN use 'oscillator technology' to see if a signal is being received, but it is so vague that it is of no practical benefit. As you say the vans were effectively a deterrent. That's just what I read:

      There are detector vans and they do work, however, they are not accurate enough to use in court unless , for example, there is no other TVs around a particular property. A detached house no where near any other it could pick up. Semi detached and terraced houses it's a no go as they can't distinguish between 2 properties together. Let's say in a semi detached house, both properties could have their living rooms adjacent to each other. The van could not distinguish where the signal is coming from. They had hand held detectors to be used in flats. They looked liked something you would find in star trek, they worked but once again they couldnt distinguish between adjoining flats. This was back in the middle 90s so not sure what they have now. No one was ever prosecuted as using this technology as far as I am aware when I worked for them. Shitty job, shitty pay and shitty management.

    'I'm not here to aggravate you on purpose': really? He also said words close to 'I generally ask when I turn up' and 'I'm not going to cause a problem today'. He's just caused a major problem to several people who have had to stop doing their job and talk to the annoying stranger who won't go away when asked to do so repeatedly but politely. Any normal person wouldn't just turn up at a gated property (in fact any property) unannounced and expect to be free to roam around and start filming. What's wrong with the guy? Decency, manners, moral compass, common sense, courtesy are all absent. We all know few watch his very long-winded and rather boring films for the drone footage: disabled parking bays and solar panels on rooves, he even said himself 'There's not much to see'; this has nothing to do with public interest, people watch to see if the schoolboy solicitor is going to get into an altercation with someone. He is patronizing, repetitive and antisocial - he's lucky he hasn't been knocked out yet (or would he pipe up and spit out with the blood 'erm, you can't actually knock me out on public land... I have rights').

      I agree, I watched about three quarters of this, and up until that point from what I saw they were all very reasonable, polite and asked multiple times for the "auditor" to leave the private property (which he did not promptly do... how many times do you need to be pointed towards the boundary). I worked for a company that was collaborating with a competitor of another company, perfectly legitimately, but we didn't want to advertise it. This is a simple example of why some privacy of what's arriving or in your warehouse might be reasonable to keep secret, without the need for conspiracy.

      Normally I'd be the first one to say when an audit has overstepped the boundaries of being morally right. And whilst yes the owners and security were polite and respectful, having watched the full video DJE also came across polite and respectful. I don't see a problem with the included window footage there was nothing private in that footage. This was a great video all from all parties, DJ was challenged respectfully and he responded in that manner whilst successfully standing his ground for the rights of the public and photography.

    It’s unlikely you will see anything in their windows that is beneficial or advantageous to yourself or any of the viewers unless any are seeking to gain sight of any intellectual property.
    I therefore I can only conclude you do this to ignite some form of protest from the company staff and to lead up to a heated debate and ismerely done to attract those viewers looking for such confrontations which often will border on violence.

    • @ShedD-oc2lr
      @ShedD-oc2lr 9 дней назад +1

      unfortunate situation, a lot of the auditors have an audience that watch these videos purely for confrontation. The creators use the guise of "auditing" but 99 percent of them provoke as much as they can and skim the line of what's actually legal but go far beyond any moral or decent line. It usually ends in some kind of confrontation and you'll see the videos where it gets violent or aggressive are the videos with the most views. Most of the time it's just bothering working folk and treating them like they are stupid and up to no good because they act surprised or alarmed when a random masked up man is filming their business or place of work. The whole movement is completely disingenous and has very little to do with auditing or freedom of photography laws etc. The majority of the audience are unintelligent and unemployed they desperately want to see confrontations. If you think I'm being harsh read the comments or any other auditors channel like northern audits or meet the tyrants uk or dj audits and read those comments and you'll get the picture. As I say unfortunate situation. Im sure this is going to eventually lead to laws being passed that restricts much more which will ironically do the opposite of what these auditors are supposed to be doing this for. It's all ridiculous tbh

    TV Detector vans used to detect the HF radio signal that was emitted as a by product of the very high voltage electronics that used to drive the TV screen when the screen was a vacuum tube. The front of the tube also used to emit a very low level of radiation. TV's over the past 30 years have not had tubes so the detector vans became obsolete.

    they are an outside broadcasting company they manufacture outside broadcasting vans used by broadcasters (ITV/BBC/SKY etc)to broadcast events such as football matches etc nothing to do with tv licensing . Also how "tv licence detector vans" work is a tv licencing worker parks outside a house (possibly in a van) they have a database of all people who pay the license so they knock on the persons door and ask to be invited in (if you say no they return with enforcement such as police) and check if you have a tv which is capable of reciving a tv signal if you have a tv capable of reciving freeview/sky then you could be fined (unless you can prove it doeant work) IE their is no "tv detector vans" it's bs to try and scare people into paying.

    Message to Pete in Security - Is it illegal to let your engine idle when parked? Rule 123 of The Highway Code looks at 'The Driver and the Environment'. It states that drivers must not leave a parked vehicle unattended with the engine running or leave a vehicle engine running unnecessarily while the vehicle is stationary on a public road.

    Love your vids DJ. Huge fan. Dont really agree with filming through windows, but just my opinion. Security guy was semi knowledgeable and polite, which makes a refreshing change. Main Site man was ultra polite and nearly pleading with you not to carry on. As a last resort I was expecting him to offer you money to leave the site lol. Can you clarify if Police would have come, could they have kicked you off the whole site? Cheers Andy.

Denying he has watched DJ Audits but slips up on the keyring point 👏👏👏👏 😂😂😂😂 then decides to ring 999 for a camera, police should prosecute these type of phone callers then they wouldn't be keen on dialling emergency when someone else might be in desperate need for the police. Great video DJE, you're getting better by the minute 👍👍👍👏👏👏💞

    If you were to for example say you live there, having been there for more than 24 hours without challenge and without a vehicle, they cant restrict your access to your home or anyone's home, i would guess, if they didnt know if someone had legally squatted the land (and rights to the access route they have maintained control over/access to for more than 24h) they wouldnt be able to remove you or lock you in without the permission of the person who has squatted the land. It's possible for sites with a single owner to have it in the contract for each of the rented properties on their land that the owner of the wider site is allowed to revoke access to their site to individuals if they choose, it could also be a covenant on purchased properties potentially. He said it was publicly accessible when you asked though, and if the security guard doesnt know with 100% certainty that it is in all the contracts and that there are no rights to access any parts of the land legally, even such as a 1m2 that might not belong to them technically. If they dont know this, they would be acting illegally to remove you with even reasonable force. An SIA licensed security guard is not allowed to trust anyone to tell them its in the contracts unless the person who has seen the clauses in the contracts (all of them) has an SIA license or they see it in the contracts themselves, I would guess. All this is assuming you are not passing or repassing a public right of way.

    where i work we have a public access road to other businesses but its owned by our company but its public access so we cant stop people being there or stopping there in their cars and filming etc . the only thing we dont allow is people parking cars and walking away and leaving it there mainly because its access road and we have articulated lorries coming in and out , and parked cars would cause problems for them and they dont want to damage the car theyve left parked there .also we havent got anything to hide so dont really care if someone films our site etc
