Ash claimed in Army of Darkness that he had a twelve-gauge double-barreled shotgun created by the Remington Arms Company in their Grand Rapids, Michigan factory, the Boomstick has a stock of polished walnut, a cobalt blue steel barrel, and a hair trigger. But in reality it was a IGA Stoeger Coach Gun. Earlier shotguns: the 1981 film The Evil Dead, it was a single-barreled Winchester 37A 20-gauge. When the shotgun returned in Evil Dead II, the Winchester model was replaced with a 12-gauge double-barreled Stevens 311-C model.

this is the first gun video that i've watched that made me genuinely excited about the gun. you have such genuine enthusiasm and appreciation for the things you're making
In the early 1800s, Remington did a detailed test on how barrel length effected patterns and velocity. They took a 38" barrel, with no choke, patterned, chrono, cut, and repeat, down to 8" They found the pattern was not effected by barrel length. The idea that a cut barrel patterns wider comes from a holdover of a misunderstanding of fixed chokes, and those people who cut them off to make their coach guns.
@@mattrva8184 The earliest known one I know of was from the 1700s, but it wouldn't be too surprising if we've found one from the HRE, or even the Greek Empire. I doubt too many archaeologists would recognize them if they found them. The designs get pretty creative.
I noticed this same effect in my teens shooting trap. Popped the 18" clyinder bore barrel on my Mossberg, and proceeded bust clays like I had a goose barrel on it. Got some funny looks, but it worked fine.
@@life_of_riley88 The problem with taking clays or game with a shorter barrel is target lead. If you've got a real zoomer you have a lot more to calculate with the decreased muzzle velocity.
There's something about a double barrel shotgun that won't ever get old, especially a coach or shorter shotgun. It's equivalent to dumping a cylender on a revovler, or racking a shotgun. You can take a double barrel and put it in the hands of some super modern tacticoool character in a movie and people will still think it's cool.
Not sure if you said this in the video but here's something I learned a while ago: if you ever want to "double-barrel" both at the same time, put a spent 12G shell behind the first trigger. You only have to pull the front one, and it saves the finger on the rear trigger from getting skin sheared off
You should show the slo-mo after every shot, even the misses. I think they are fun to watch and educational. Seeing solid hits is cool and I like seeing grazes and edge hits to see what kind of damage a partial hit can do.
The BOOOOOM stick. You gotta love it. The recoil can't be any worse than the single shot 10ga yall have had on the channel before. I have a 16 inch single 12 and it's got a 3" chamber and with 3" magnum slug in it it kicks harder than anything I've ever experienced.
I bought a box of 3" magnums to a range day with friends. Each guy showed up he would shoot 3" mag out of a coach gun. If he said it was plenty he was done. If he claimed it was not a problem then everyone else started laughing, as I gave him a 3.5" magnum. They all said damn why did I try bragging it was no big deal.
What makes this so fun to watch is how well he's holding back the excitement. With any more energy he'll be breakdancing. I'd be happy too if I got to demolish things with that beast.
