In this video I show you how to restore your DJI drone to factory default settings. You will need to download DJI Assistant 2, this software is available on Mac & PC. You will then need to connect your DJI drone to your computer and turn it on. DJI Assistant 2 gives you access to downgrading firmware and resetting to the factory default settings.

I thought I was one of the only people still trying to get Mavic Pro to work. Can't get it to downgrade or upgrade or nothing. Keeps getting errors but no troubleshooting steps. 😢 So glad I didn't pay full price for this machine--so difficult to operate at startup, even to get it running 😢😢

I don’t own a Mavic Enterprise so I can’t test this. I’m sure that it would work through this software - it was created by DJI.
This is DJI’s software, I don’t believe that it would void your warranty.

I just bought a used Mavic Pro and have access to both the sellers and my own DJI accounts. The problem is when following your video my Mavic Pro doesn't show up, hence I cannot factory reset it? Any idea what I can do now?
Look through the settings on the app, you might be able to remove some of the data. Otherwise, contact DJI - I don’t know enough about the program to confidently give you an answer.
@@DansTubeTV I was using my Windows computer when having this problem. Once I tested on my wife's Mac it found it direct ... So problem solved :)

Button doesn't show up on Mavic Air 2 version of software in 03/26/2024 for PC. Went in app and hit unbind and that's best I could do.

If you reset to factory settings the aircraft, do you need to do the same with the remote control as well?
Good question, I haven’t bothered as I believe that it doesn’t store information. I removed flight routes from the app and reset the Mavic to factory defaults. I don’t think that we have to do anything else.
Do you have to use the microUSB cable provided with the drone to connect to the PC or will any microUSB cable work (DJI Spark) ?
Any cable should work, you’ll just have to test it to see what happens 😁
For mavic mini 1 we also download from here the website provided?

For the Mavic Air 2, there is no factory reset button per se. You have to use the remote controller, go into settings and clear cache. Then re-calibrate all sensors with the remote. This info is available via websearch.

No, it shouldn’t affect any NFZ’s. Make sure that the geofencing updates are up to date?

I don’t know about that, I’m sure that DJI would keep that information on the drone. They wouldn’t let you completely erase it - otherwise it would look like a new drone.
I believe that you can see the flight hours/information on the DJI app once you connect to the drone.

You should be able to connect the drone and then access the software without logging in to the original account. You might still need to login to your account though. Give it a go and let me know 😁

I just got off the phone with dji and they said that the controller is still binding to the email and the only way to do that is be physically with the remote, I bought one from Amazon never opened it then sold it to someone else and they say they can't use it because the controller is binded to another email
I actually hope this helps me I removed my gimble and camera cause it was destroyed and installed a GoPro but after powering back up the quad it won't take off cause says I ruined the front sensors I had no clue there were flight sensors in the camera lol you think this will help me

I don’t believe that you have to reset the controller. I formatted my Micro SD card and cleared my flight route history in the Go 4 app. Thanks for watching, I’m sure that you will love the Air. It is a great drone, I have been making videos on it for nearly 6 months now and I am very happy with it 👌🏻

I thought that you could use this software for your Spark as well. Try contacting DJI or search Google for alternative software.
I bought a 2nd hand Mavic air. Is it possible to reset it the same way that you've done yours? Also, how would I be able to relink my controller to the drone?
You can definitely use this software to reset the drone, upgrade/downgrade the drone software and I believe you can relink the controller as well. If not then there is definitely a way to do it - search Google and RUclips.
I alos bought one Mavic 2 Pro with smart controller and do not have account data and password. Is it possible to reset then? Please help if possible. What a Grrrrrrrr

Does this erase the firmware that's currently in the drone or does it just dump or erase any residual info on the drone?
I haven’t used the software in 2 years but from memory, it is just the residual info that is removed.

Here is my problem, bought this from egghead refurbished, registered it (mavik pro) with the company, Tried to set it to factory default, will not let me. Thinks it needs to return to china and ran into my house the first time I tried to use it. How do I set it for the US, it will not let me in to do anything.

That sounds like something that you contact DJI about. I have never had to deal with this so I have no idea sorry.

Is that altitude based on you being in a no fly zone, a restriction in India or a restriction within the app? You should be able to change your altitude parameters within the app as long as you are flying legally.

Try to change the altitude settings through the app, you’ll have to do some troubleshooting.

I don’t know, I will need more information. Which drone are you trying to restore? Is the drone recognised in the software when you plug it into the computer? What other options do you get?
@@DansTubeTV its a Mavic 2 Pro. It was recognized and it showed all the firmware information. It just did not have the option of restoring to defaults. I am on a PC, not a Mac. Would that make a difference?

Follow this video, download the software and then downgrade the firmware.
But now, for Mavic Air 2, cannot set default setting with dji assistant 2(consumer series).. Not like other drone before this.

@@DansTubeTV nvm, just got it working now... i actually had to edit the file defaultsettings.ini and change 0 to 1 on the enable update lines. could successfully update the firmware, probably a failed update due to battery being too new without too much power... anxiety, *sigh*
@@DansTubeTV something else happens... not that i will do this while in flight, but while having the drone sitting and setting the camera on dji fly app, whenever i switch apps on my phone and go back to the dji fly app, it gives me a message: "RC not connected to mobile device", so i have to turn the controller off and on again to reconnect to the drone.
That would be terrifying. Hopefully they fix this bug.

Tried doing this with my mini 2. When I get to the page where you show firmware info and reset option mine only shows (system) and no info and the only option is to (save to local) which does nothing.

I would try to contact DJI personally. Give them detailed information on the drone that you are using, the operating system that you are using and the software version that you have installed.

I believe that the data is stored on your drone and within the app. You wouldn’t want to unsync the control or ruin the binding process.

I also have a GPS problem. Sensor error. The map shows the flight path across two continents to the ocean. Drone loses GPS and retun to home doesn't work.

The process should be the same, unless the P3A isn’t supported on this software. Search Google or try to contact DJI if that doesn’t work.

Make sure that your drone is turned on and connected. Run the software before turning the drone on. If that doesn’t work then I would recommend contacting DJI.
I did I press and hold the function button And nothing it does not beep after 3 seconds idk what to do
You have to do one initial button press, release and then press and hold the button for a few seconds.
That will turn it off or on I mean to pair it does not beep after 3 seconds
