Excellent review. I've been told (warned) that I absolutely should buy a controller (uses GPS) and not just use my phone's WiFi. Apparently distance with only WiFi is a problem and you could lose the drone. What are your thoughts on this?
This warning is nonsense. I bought this device without a controller because this drone saves you from using a controller and even a phone if you want. But if you use this drone with your phone, there is a distance limit: 50 meters horizontal and 30 meters vertical. If you try to send your drone further away, your drone stops. And you don't lose your connection within these limits because the drone's Wi-Fi connection reaches further.
Hi Dan! I’ve never flown a drone before but I ordered the Neo almost as soon as I first got an email about it a couple days ago. I’m very excited and a little nervous! I bought the fly more combo, I know it comes with some extra parts. Can you tell me what else you think would be useful for me to have? I’ll mostly just be playing with it, I think. Thanks!
I might just dig in here. As it's your first drone, hope you got a DJI Care Refresh plan with it, at least for the first year, just in cast of damge or flyaway scenario.

A toy bed picture quality, bad wind resitance ,, very noisy.the worse is CANN not do follow mode with my hight set up..only that what is given no view from the landscape...BOUGHT IT END RETURNED !!!!

The DJI Neo is extremely reliable. I would suggest getting a controller in general but the palm launching and smartphone controls work great.

you need check some more video cinematic movies on youtube and wind resistance. Not so bad
This drone does what you need. You might have missed the app settings to change the height and distance of the tracking as well as the other modes.
