Has anyone asked yet WHY the species need to keep producing more gems? Seriously. They don't eat food or drink water, they're functionally immortal, they don't need to reproduce sexually or even asexually - they don't even need sunlight or air. The whole species is driven to find more planets so they can make more warriors, thinkers, builders - but to do what? This drive seems to consume them entirely, to the point where it's the only feature we hear about gemkind. They don't seem to have any great art, music, stories, plays, cultural mythology, no great heroes, not even any villians. Aside from the advancing technology, they're completely stagnate. All that science is just to support the great war machine. Also, homeworld gems don't seem to have any concept of dissenting opinion. They stay and think exactly the same thing forever unless influenced otherwise by an outside force (like meeting the organic lifeforms of Earth). If they stopped making new gems right now, and didn't resume for another 6,000 years, at the end of that time they would probably be in exactly the same place as a culture. So what's the point? They're planetary parasites, but even parasites have to reproduce or the species will die out. What motivates gems?
From the way Gems function, it seems they're were made by another species. They're like nano-bots but greater. They were probably made by an advanced civilization to seek planets and make it habitable for the species. But they so advanced they began their own colonies and what not. They may not be programmed to do human things since their original purpose wasn't to do that. But that's my guess, I think it's most likely true, but who knows?
So you're theory is that the Diamonds promote the war machine to increase their personal wealth and living standards, like the total monarchs of previous eras?
The Roundtable Heyo! I think that this is even more possible due to the most recent episode! It seems as though pink has been experimenting with this for quite some time now. Ex: zoo fruit, blooming moss, gem lizards, and Steven. I would love to get your take on this matter current day! Thank you so much 💕
They look similar mostly because its a common form if we suspect they go under all gravity weights. 2 arms and 2 legs minimum, fast back legs to help them run, a structure in general that is for a hunter. But in the end, I i think its a less barbaric way of communicating intellectually. That or we overthink things too much and its just cuz KID SHOW.
Well...how humans walk around uses up less energy [I read]. So that can be a reason for being bipedal, as for the rest....no clue, maybe the original creator was an alien with similar body shape. Afterall as gems form they appear to start off as blank mannequins before getting all their details. Sooooo, yep.
That raccoon is the only character we've seen to be pure evil, even more so than Kevin (unless he secretly is the raccoon). I think we know who'll top White Diamond as the true big bad.
For some strange reason, I can imagine an older Steven and Connie watching a Meteor Shower that's fills the sky with thousands of meteors shooting slowly across the night sky along with strong feeling music playing in the background. At least, that's how I think it'll end during the end credits and epilogue.
Earnest Brown they could give them gem attachments like peridot had so the diamonds could make the humans attack the gems because the gems would not want to attack the humans like what topaz done to garnet
what if the diamonds combined a human with gem DNA to battle Steven? which could have endless possibilities for the Crewniverse. like, a kid younger that Steven having better abilities and fighting for home world, but unlike a gem he could poof she/he would actually die, limiting his powers against her while she is fine with trying to kill him what's your take?
I feel for Era 3 to begin safely, Steven has to fix the turmoil within the diamond authority(not shatter them or bubble them, I know their jerks but eliminating them will cause more trouble than its worth).
Era 3 would bring the elimination of not all, but ONE diamond (probably Yellow), later to be replaced by the synthetic diamond Paragon, created at the tail end of Era 2 to serve as a successor to Pink Diamond. Earth will be regarded as a no-colony zone, and Gems are finally safe to take refuge on Earth. Era 3 will usher in significant changes in Gem production, including the usage of any and all organic matter on colonial words and alterations to a Gem's personality. This allows for the New Authority and their legions to expand exponentially, until they have several tens of hundreds of worlds in command. In response, humanity, now an advanced Type 1.5 civilization utilizing reverse-engineered Gem tech decides to take the war to them in a gradual, slow suicide mission as to stop them from expanding and wiping out all life in the cosmos. Other species are discovered to be fighting against them on their own behalfs, but later ally themselves to grow stronger and smarter.
I don't really think pink needs a successor, both the ability an power needed to repair her exists in the show and given that she was most likely the first gem to work on hybridizing gems with organic matter it might even be better for her to return since organic hybridization will most likely be the key for gems to survive the resource crisis.
Yeah, this makes sense story wise and in terms of the important and difficult issues SU has addressed. Steven convincing the Authority of the importance of ensuring the sustainable and ethical development of Homeworld makes sense!
Idk what to even say with this one, your theories are always unique and bring something new but you for real took us to Era 3, you're too woke haha, keep it bro! Love the idea of respecting and learning about organic life being the key to push gems forward!
Theory: remember the crystal temple "obsidian"? Well what if in the event that an extinction event (likely a meteor) [im going off of otaku's recent theory] obsidian prevented one in Russia Explaining why it is mostly underwater.
Idk if I’m the first person to notice but that era 3 peridot sorta looks like the green gems in legs from here to home world which most people suspect to be era 1 peridots
love this, after seeing full on kindergardens, and interactions of gems in "real life" its pleasing to hear this theory. its well thought and constructed. Thank you Slice 🍕
They might also hint at this in the fact that the Prime (which means first) Kindergarden is very organized whilst the Beta (which means second) is very sloppy probably because of lack of resources.
I actually had an idea for an alternate motivation for Peridot, where she still wants to make the Earth colony happen, but it'd be something like this where organic life is maintained. She still sides with the Crystal Gems because she thinks Yellow Diamond won't listen to her, but she wants to ensure the Earth colony gets built anyway.
Wanted her gone? Who? Not the Crystal Gems, whose ideology _supports_ off-color gems. Not Blue Diamond, who's grieving. Yellow Diamond? I don't know. Maybe, but I don't think so.
Don't be scared, Go eat some popcorn and attempt to take away the fears, frights and sadness and think of something else. ps: Your profile fits this comment!
This is really interesting and I think it would make a lot of sense. You mentioned the parallel between early humans and Era 1 gems. People today share similarities between Era 2. Progressing Era 3 gems in this way could definitely be a statement on today's environment and climate change. And that would be so great to see in a show!!
This has to be the most unique Steven Universe discussion video I've ever seen We as a fanbase still talking about pink diamond you took us too era 3 way to think ahead slice lol
That was basically going to be my reply too. I seriously don't understand this fandom want for no villains in the show. They complain about 'filler' episodes, but then lose their shit when one of those humans does something awesome (looking at you, Space Pirate Lars) or they demand for gem only episodes, but then seem agast that there be an introduction of a villain. And before anyone starts jumping down my throat that Rebecca Sugar said there are no true villains, I don't think she meant that LITERALLY; she meant it FIGURATIVELY. What's the difference? Simple - she just meant that the villains weren't just axe crazy super villains who want to take over the world (which they still are). Take a look at Yellow Diamond's song in That Will Be All - it showed a vulnerable side to someone we've probably all pegged the worst boss in history. HOWEVER, just because she showed a bit a vulnerability doesn't mean she's turning good or joining the Crystal Gems. The same is true for Blue Diamond. Everyone loves to mention how she took over the zoo and that she bonded with Greg and oh, look! She's crying! But no one ever mentions how she quickly shuts all that out the very MOMENT Holly Blue Agate mentions Sapphire going to Earth. This is ESPECIALLY true for Pink Diamond. I won't lie - I AM getting increasingly tired and annoyed with everyone and anyone drooling over how GOOD Pink was and that she MUST have been the kinder gem because she KIDNAPPED (everyone ALWAYS seem to gloss over that little detail) humans and put them in a ZOO. Which, BTW, when WE see it, is an utopia, however that doesn't mean it was like that 5,000 years ago. Not to mention, that MOST of that zoo is done in BLUE DIAMOND'S image, not Pink's. I will be INCREDIBLY disappointed if we discover that Pink Diamond was this pillar of the diamonds, who loved humans, blah blah blah. Why? Because it COMPLETELY belittles the very POINT of why Rose, Pearl, Garnet and the other Crystal Gems rebelled. Not only that, but it makes the CGs monsters in their own right if they basically started a coup against this wonderful being, which not only lead to her death, but an actual civil war. I mean, in some other show, sure, that might be an awesome twist, but in Steven Universe? C'mon people!
Referring to Greg and Blue Diamond, remember she took Greg against his will. She did not ask him if he had families or friends on Earth or anything. She just took him. That is not good. It was also said in the series, that Pink Diamond took human against their will, taking humans from their families and friends. Essentially some Home World gems and the Diamonds are parasites, destroying planets by taking resources for there own needs.
Melissa Olson Exactly! That is exactly my point. Like 99.7% of the fandom over look these things because they are blinded by...I don't know. The feels? The crying? I have no idea. But you're right - Blue HERSELF was quite surprised that another being understood her feelings and instead of just leaving at a 'thanks for talking to me', she went straight into, 'Imma take you. Then Imma love you and pet you and call you George'. Ironically enough, I'm sure that's EXACTLY what Pink Diamond did - She'd randomly saw some humans, look at them like pets and then snatch them up. Peridot even said it herself - the gems, at their core, are a conquering race. Conquering races DO NOT set up utopias for their trophies and that's EXACTLY what the humans were to Pink - trophies. How do we know this? Pearl. Pearl had BEEN to the human zoo and from her reaction, it was not the little sunny utopia that we see in The Zoo. It literally blows my mind that so many people disregard some of these blatant clues. Corruption is the other thing - Peridot, once again bringing some truth, stated that they don't have corruption on HW, but yet the entire fandom (except for me, apparently) believes to their very souls, that the Diamonds created corruption on purpose and the only way to cure it is with them.
SliceofOtaku I think I've seen a few, though while I do appreciate you playing devil's advocate, you do tend to fall back on, at least Pink Diamond being some misunderstood paragon, despite more evidence against that than for it. IIRC, you did do a video on why you didn't think the Diamonds wouldn't be redeemed (and do remind me if that was you or The Roundtable) and those points are the exact reason why I just don't get the majority of fans just not seeming to WANT a villain. I'm not talking about a good villain, just A villain in general. Like Jasper had that potential, but once again, the fandom is like 'redeem Jasper!' and 'she's so tortured! She needs to be hugged!' where I have never seen any evidence that Jasper is nothing more than a vengeful gem who will do anything to avenge the Diamond she feels was wronged. The Diamond Authority are or should be the villains for the duration of the series. Again, just because they (Yellow and Blue) are upset about Pink does not negate their role as tyrannical rulers. Where's the proof? Every gem we've seen, including our own Crystal Gems. Being sympathetic doesn't make them less evil, if anything, it should make them even MORE dangerous - Yellow's insistence on destroying the earth despite resources that could be used is just one example.
I'm just now realizing that Peridot has to be younger than Amethyst since Amethyst can shape shift & summon weapons , so that means she's the youngest one there (besides Steven)
This is a great theory to revisit since the last few reveals. Currently, ppl are speculating that White Diamond decimated Homeworld through force, but it may stand to reason that the planet met it's demise as the result of constantly making new gems. You say in the video that Homeworld would have to be destroyed or close to it after pulling out allllll those natural resources to make gems. Welp, it's literally cracked in 2.
Alea McHatten History In 1920 a Russian expedition travelled to the farthest reaches of Siberia. A tremendous explosion had taken place nearly a decade earlier, had flattened entire forests for hundreds of miles. But reaching the edge of the valley, the expedition’s guides would go no further, in belief of the valley ghosts, whose spirits of vengeful entities slaughtered the surrounding wildlife. Only a scant few traces of the expedition were ever found, but as the Soviets retreated into isolationism, strange tales began emanating from the reclusive nation. European Intelligence began reporting hundreds of ghost towns; entire cities abandoned. Then all 12,000 transmitters of the Soviet Radio network shut down, and restarted with a singular phrase: Brotherhood, Strength, and fortitude in the face of the Crystaline night. Theories were rampant regarding the Russian situation which included a chemical disaster, some new type of weapon, or Russian experiments. But when the true threat was uncovered, and broke through the Russian border fortifications and spread across the world, it was far worse than anyone could have imagined! They are known by many names: In Russia as the Crystalline night, in Italy as the Deathless Plague, yet one other above all: The Gems. This monstrous alien race subjugated planets and was separated in a cast based hierarchy, that was born of the stolen life force of other species. In 1944 the Gems overran most of Europe, but brave human resistance in the British Isles and American support. In 1957 an allied coalition were able to push the gems off world, and were never seen since. This fearsome enemy remains as much a mystery as ever, and the real question remains as whether there are more, if they will return, or if the so called “pure” gems are still out there.
if you have hulu it has the first 3 seasons. season 4 will be added when season 5 is half way done. if you don’t have hulu then i suggest kimcartoon.me it’s virus free and not super illegal since they give like 10% to the networks that own the content they put on their site.
i have a theory. era 3 started in the newest episode "legs from here to homeworld" and it started when steven and the diamonds arrived back on homeworld
One thing I noticed is that in all history, from the Greek gods, to the gems, to movies. Immortals don’t change. I equate this to something my father says to me: finish better than when you began. That means that if you are say, in a class, give it your all and as long as you leave the room knowing more than you did when you walked in then you did perfectly, even if you learned the least from that class out of everyone. But for immortals the metaphorical class never ends. They have eternity to grow but they don’t because there will be no end so no motivation or change. We become better people because we only have so long on this earth, we wanna make sure that when we are on our death bed we are happy with who we are and what we did. I say this because that’s why blue can’t stop mourning. She has forever to heal and yet as an immortal being it is in her nature not to stop being the way she is
For me, I actually theorize that pink diamonds purpose was resource management and gem production due to how much sense it makes. The location of her gem on her stomach, which can symbolize her being the mother or the one to create new gems. That theme can also be seen with the other diamonds such as Yellow being the body of the military, Blue being the heart, and White probably being the head absolute power. The other part that can tie into this is one of the powers of Rose Quartz which was rapid plant growth which can be both used as guards and if possible, fuel used to create new gems.
I want a Steven universe game where you play as a diamond take over planets and make different gems to help with different things and every time you conquer a planet by collecting all it's resources and making galaxy warps the planet adds to your shrine
Man oh man, this is an idea. I always thought that it was entirely possible that there may emerge a human character that had the similar mindset of a gem; believing humans are superior from gems under the idea that they *can* change and evolve, now this factor could probably make a character such as that all the more plausible.
Wow, I'm already looking forward to Era 3 being the Epilog of the Series. Seeing Gem society be more understanding of organic life, and allowing the two to co-exist. The foundation for this theory actually further supports my theory that Pink Diamond wanted the Earth & Humans to be saved. All we need now is a reveal of White Diamond somewhere in the next 5 or so episodes and it will create a perfect hype storm.
Actually, i go by the theory that Gems are some sort of artifical intelligence working on cristal computer. And that somehow they went skynet or something that did away with their creators. Anyway, that would explain their rather strong sense of duty and loyalty (unless they are just affected by propaganda to that level) and why they lost so many features and have so many off-colors. Assuming they are running out of resources for some reason, they are not devolving, they are compensating. Less resources, means they can spare less on each individual Gem, both materials and attention. Era 1 were made in a booming period with lots of resources, thus have all those features, while Gems like Peridot were skimped on, made well enough to perform office work after being slapped some stilts on. (that theory also has a lampshade on why Gems cant just be programmed with absolute loyalty because no one really knows how gems were made on the first place, because they need some basic agency to not be mindless automatons that require consant vigilance)
The thing about Gems is that they were probably created by a precursor race to serve a servant role of some kind such as fighting as basically super soldiers alongside the normal soldiers and their vehicles, helping with administrative duties, butlers, etc. However, more than likely their creators realized that the high level of resource consumption caused by Gem creation would wipe them out, so their creators moved to wipe out the Gems, however the Diamonds (more than likely the administrators) became sentient instead wiped out their creators. This doomed them to an inevitable extinction once they finally ran out of resources to use in the creation of Gems due to the fact they are very much a parasite race.
It is called Era 2 because it was after the demise of Pink Diamond, it doesn't make sense to have the first one called Era 1. It is the exact same reason why in year 1914 that it wasn't called World War 1, not until they have a second war after it. That goes the same thing with sequels such as movies like Lion king, they didn't call it Lion King 1 when it was first made. The Diamonds have been conquering other planets for centuries and Earth wouldn't be the first planet that Homeworld colonized but it is the first planet that Pink Diamond ever claimed ruled over. It wouldn't be called Era 1 but it is in fact the first era when Pink Diamond ruled a planet. The thing is the Diamonds are exactly like Queen Bees since the infrastructure of homeworld and the holes they came out of resembles a beehive. The queen bee is always needed to produce more bees for the colony just as the Diamonds are always needed to make more gems. It is no coincident that her absent after the war resulted the production of gems to diminish and every gem ever created after her are now known as the Era 2 Gems.
didn't think of this until now, but maybe kindergartens make subsistence of organic life impossible because gem creation strongly irradiates the area. This would make sense with how some of the sunflowers were reduced to dust, and why Amethyst warned buddy not to come around too much. The only organic life we've seen around the kindergartens with any sort of frequency is Steven, and he's half gem.
An issue with the logic regarding allowing some to live in regards to regenerating organic energy... it has been made clear throughout the series that it doesn't work that way as land used for kindergardens can never hold organic life again. Thats one of the reasons pink wanted to shut down the whole earth operation as their work was unfixable
Organic hybrid gems like Steven might be the 3rd era gem type and Steven/Pink/Rose might be the first of many if he can convince the Diamonds about the benefits of such a hybrid.
Just going to add a thought, I believe gems(the being) are made from real gems(Minerals) in which the injection fluid is what starts the process of actually making them conscious giving purpose and reason. Rebecca Sugar made the placement of the Kindergarten’s very thoughtful as Amethyst emerge in the Prime Kindergarten, which in the flashback of Pearl and Pink Diamond, we see the Prime Kindergarten is located on the east coast, which is known for its surplus of Amethysts, particularly how large they can be found there. Another example being the Beta Kindergarten, it’s located on the west coast- which again is home to large Jaspers, which are found in sandstone. So in summary, I believe Homeworld chooses location heavily on making a Kindergarten, as they seem to be placed in places where there’s large enough quantities and sizes of gems that they could make a reasonable batch off of a select location. Although the Beta Kindergarten was a rush job, I believe Homeworld just played pin the dart with the select area, it wasn’t planned out to the last inch as the Prime Kindergarten was.
Oh and one thing! I also believe when a Gem is injected with the fluids, based on the resources around it will determine its features, like size- strength, ect... Deserts for one do not have a surplus of life, which is why the Beta Kindergarten is so low budget.
This makes so much sense.... I mean, the first step to a merging of Organic and In-organic life... is basically Steven. He's the hybrid they can use to map out a future generation of gems. Maybe Rose Quartz mission on earth and her love of earth was actually something devised by Pink Diamond for reconnaissance reasons but Rose got in too deep and it backfired. Rose started to understand organic life and was scared of Earth falling like the other planets because she might have been made to respect and adore life (thus placing importance on organic beings like humans). She might have been programmed to assimilate this information for Pink Diamond who wanted to create a future set of hybrid gems but when they needed to start sucking up the earth's resources or maybe even go so far as to experiment with organic creature Rose couldn't take it and rebelled because she understood that the short life of organic creatures is vastly superior in quality to the eternal caste existence of gems. Maybe that's when she brought in her earth-learned morality of respecting life into gem society. Pink Diamond being still a Diamond, looked at the benefits of hybrid gems as a practical way to create a replenishable resources (maybe also why Rose Quartz is considered special/off color/defective and has "healing" powers because she had potential to be a "replenishable" gem.) but Rose's perspective had shifted by then. She brought in her perspective, applied it to some of the more abused gems who would obviously want a better existence, rallied them to protect an earth she now held dear and eventually, after the dust settled, continued her base programming about learning more about earth. She'd learn about sentiment, affection and eventually hold a meaningful relationship with Greg which her programming then allowed her the unique ability to procreate/create a hybrid human/gem as originally devised by Pink Diamond... This sense of focus in this project on Pink Diamond's behalf might also be why she is holding ONLY earth in her mural. She didn't need to conquer other planets if earth would be the prototype planet she could use as a renewable resource for gems. Or maybe I'm just blowing smoke. XD Though... that's a way to fit lots of loose pieces together. lol
I watched this video and almost all of your other ones as well but I would like you to look into the possibility that pink diamond who saw this potential for organic matter being reused and set up a plan towards that change using our rose quartz
rose being pink diamond, and by extension steven being pink diamond, is a massive support for this theory, honestly i cant see it (or something like it) NOT coming true in the end
man im not disappointed at all but i never imagined this show might lead to homeworld developing sustainable energy. i know its unlikely but seems like a great idea
Era 3 of gems would be half human half gems so they can do both things, being strong for missions, Doing some human stuffs like pooping and peeing so they can return the materials to planet again and most importantly they can 'die' and return their remainings to the planet
3:15 I think you underestimate how big a planet is lol, especially compared to how small Gems are, yes that's true but the planet can very likely support BILLIONS of small gems, the fact that the planet is currently nearing it's expiration date according to Peridot suggest it's been eons since the first gem arose.
As a fellow RUclipsr and a system universe theorist I have been thinking about.Organics the very thing they scorn provide and replenish their minerals therefore their quartz have enough minerals to obtain powers season six will most likely end with steven continuing area three as pink along with Connie and the gems as his acquaintances I will make a video on this soon
The very core of the circle of life is that nothing is really taken, but borrowed then given back in some way, shape, or form. With how gems are formed there is very little that can be given back. Organic life, at it's core, depends on death, things dying. How can Homeworld give back the resources it takes? Choosing gems who have "lived long enough" and crush them up to return to their birth planet? I think the very nature of gems is to take and not give back
I still hold the idea that the distinction between era 1 and era 2 is not the resources that go in to the creation of the gem but in fact what the gem is told she can or can't do. All era two gems have all the abilities of era 1 gems they have just been told all their lives that they don't have the ability. This will ensure that any future rebellion can be easily crushed because the rebels will all be dependent on home world technology that the diamonds can ultimately control
Era 1: The beginning era
Era 2: The shortage era
Era 3: The renewable era
Era 4: The discovering and wisdom era
peridot is gonna get smaller
the end
Keegan Clark imagine if that was the series' finale
She looks normal again cuz she reformed
I hope we get an answer to that
From the way Gems function, it seems they're were made by another species.
Do you think tht will be a reveal at the end, that they're the creation of an older culture (perhaps one they wiped out, accidently or otherwise)?
So you're theory is that the Diamonds promote the war machine to increase their personal wealth and living standards, like the total monarchs of previous eras?
They are a virus

Hi I’m sub to both roundy and toko
this is so wholesome omg
I just want to know if Peridot can fuse or if era 2 is not able to do this. I NEED A PERI FUSION!
Niklas Universe Well, the Ruby Squad can fuse, and all of them (except Eyeball) are Era 2, so yes, Era 2 gems can fuse.
i think she's supposed to represent asexual people so i think she can but wont, i think era 2 rubies can fuse
Her body is made of light so yeah probably
I know right I don't know what would be better though Lapidot or Amidot
@@twiilit_ but eyeball was there in era 1 when pink was shattered
Do you think there is an canon reason to why gems look so similar to humans? Because it's not like the human-form is the most efficient one possible.
jay big fusions look like caterpillars for some reason too
They look similar mostly because its a common form if we suspect they go under all gravity weights. 2 arms and 2 legs minimum, fast back legs to help them run, a structure in general that is for a hunter. But in the end, I i think its a less barbaric way of communicating intellectually. That or we overthink things too much and its just cuz KID SHOW.
Convergent evolution.

That raccoon is the only character we've seen to be pure evil, even more so than Kevin (unless he secretly is the raccoon). I think we know who'll top White Diamond as the true big bad.
Wilfred Cthulu that's more than meets the eye.
I can't wait for the big battle between steven and the racoon
I'm the best Raccoon
who is Kevin? o-o
Oh come on, Racoon just wanted noms.
I'm a simple sea sausage, I see SliceOfOtaku, I click
Ø Sea Sausage Ø you bootful sea sausage and very cute
MineDixie Being Werid why thank you
Ø Sea Sausage Ø did me a fascinate
okay
What's it like being a sea sausage
I believe the last episode will be Steven dying and Rose returning eventually leading to Pearl wanting Steven back in irony.
perfect. lol
Until Pearl decides to poof Rose 😂😂
No
I think it should end with earth in peace with the entire gem empire including the Diamonds
For some strange reason, I can imagine an older Steven and Connie watching a Meteor Shower that's fills the sky with thousands of meteors shooting slowly across the night sky along with strong feeling music playing in the background.
At least, that's how I think it'll end during the end credits and epilogue.
Home World will start using humans(and other races) as Batteries to grow Gems. Like Quintessnce in Voltron.
but that takes way more energy to keep them alive then what rose did.
future ramma said it best.
Not enough energy better to use it as a computer
Earnest Brown they could give them gem attachments like peridot had so the diamonds could make the humans attack the gems because the gems would not want to attack the humans like what topaz done to garnet
i think they will use old gems to make better ones like to make era 3 they use the era 2 cuz they are not as good as 1 so...
+Dank Dorito you mean Aquamarine make Topaz to threaten to kill a human to try to get as many humans as Blue Diamond wants ! ! ! ! !
Theres a whole lot of Peridot in this video
I wanna see a Rose Quartz Kindergarten
Rose Quartzes were all made in the Prime Kindergarten.
I want to see our rose's hole
Almighty_Flare likely the largest hole in the kindergarden, cause you know, shes fat.
I'm sorry I just had the dirtiest thought after reading that I think I just scared myself a bit
Itz Iz Charles McKenna I can't stop laughing omg
Roses are Red
Violets Are Blue
Hi how are you,
I'm SliceOfOtaku
nice
Cake Is Bleh clever
Cool.
Cake Is Bleh noice
Cake Is Bleh well done bleh well done
what if the diamonds combined a human with gem DNA to battle Steven? which could have endless possibilities for the Crewniverse. like, a kid younger that Steven having better abilities and fighting for home world, but unlike a gem he could poof she/he would actually die, limiting his powers against her while she is fine with trying to kill him
what's your take?
Maybe Connie
Jk ha
Vegeta and Gajeel you could make it your OC but if that happens the show dies
That sounds interesting
If this show was an anime it would probably do that
Moustache bio.
I forgot about that bit of biology

They're*
I don't really think pink needs a successor, both the ability an power needed to repair her exists in the show and given that she was most likely the first gem to work on hybridizing gems with organic matter it might even be better for her to return since organic hybridization will most likely be the key for gems to survive the resource crisis.
AzurenGamer that would be much easier knowing what we know now
Otaku’s Era 3: a system of giving and taking
Steven’s Era 3: *super duper happy fun time where your dreams can come true*
Yeah, this makes sense story wise and in terms of the important and difficult issues SU has addressed. Steven convincing the Authority of the importance of ensuring the sustainable and ethical development of Homeworld makes sense!
Does anyone else feel kind of special/nice when he says "I love you?" I mean, he says it with so much emotion, and it just makes me feel better.
Idk what to even say with this one, your theories are always unique and bring something new but you for real took us to Era 3, you're too woke haha, keep it bro! Love the idea of respecting and learning about organic life being the key to push gems forward!

I really just want a bunch of gem Hybrids for Era 3. Like whether they're mixed with human or whatever. Just hybrids and integration everywhere!
Slice, your theories are some of the best in the fandom omg ❤
Idk if I’m the first person to notice but that era 3 peridot sorta looks like the green gems in legs from here to home world which most people suspect to be era 1 peridots
I believe that all the Peridots on Homeworld created the Quartzes at the Kindergartens since they are Kindergarteners.

Lapis Lazuli Yeah right.

So we ignoring the fact that he was perfectly synced with Peridot and other gems all the way through? lmao I love yo vids man keep it up
They might also hint at this in the fact that the Prime (which means first) Kindergarden is very organized whilst the Beta (which means second) is very sloppy probably because of lack of resources.
SU would probably be a badass sci-fi novel
I love the thumbnail, the peridot is soo cute!
WAIT MAYBE JUST MAYBE PINK DIAMOND IS A HYBRID GEM AND THAT EXPLAINS WHY THEY WANTED HER GONE????!!!!!!
Wanted her gone? Who? Not the Crystal Gems, whose ideology _supports_ off-color gems. Not Blue Diamond, who's grieving. Yellow Diamond? I don't know. Maybe, but I don't think so.
What do you mean by a hybrid gem, anyway? A fusion? Pink Diamond only has one gem, with a different placement than the other Diamonds.
Yo, Poppa Slice, love your videos!

Whenever I see jasper’s hole in the beta kindergarten I think “ohmygosh it’s a giant cactus person!”
I think Steven can be considered an era 3 gem
This is really interesting and I think it would make a lot of sense. You mentioned the parallel between early humans and Era 1 gems. People today share similarities between Era 2. Progressing Era 3 gems in this way could definitely be a statement on today's environment and climate change. And that would be so great to see in a show!!
I can't the feeling that I get when I hear a thought-out theory😭💠💓
*HOW DO THEY COME UP WITH THEESSSSSSSE*
I love how passionate you are about your talks, and yeah I believe era is the process of change
What a solid fucking theory, i think this could happen.
This has to be the most unique Steven Universe discussion video I've ever seen We as a fanbase still talking about pink diamond you took us too era 3 way to think ahead slice lol
Why do you want the diamonds to be good?
Ironically enough, I'm sure that's EXACTLY what Pink Diamond did -
She'd randomly saw some humans, look at them like pets and then snatch them up.
SliceofOtaku true
I think era 3 will be like half human and half gem hybrids
Sliceofotaku: *casually puts a pentagram in his thumbnail*

The Kindergartens always freak me out. I know they are based on The Enigma of Amigara Fault. It's so creepy!
Alea McHatten History
In 1920 a Russian expedition travelled to the farthest reaches of Siberia.
Can anyone tall me where sliceofotaku watches the episodes?
how do i know you can be trusted? lmao just joking idk dude
if you have hulu it has the first 3 seasons.
season 4 will be added when season 5 is half way done.
if you don’t have hulu then i suggest kimcartoon.me
it’s virus free and not super illegal since they give like 10% to the networks that own the content they put on their site.
You can use watchcartoononline.io its safe and legal.
i have a theory. era 3 started in the newest episode "legs from here to homeworld" and it started when steven and the diamonds arrived back on homeworld

She has forever to heal and yet as an immortal being it is in her nature not to stop being the way she is
*notice me*
Goatly Bear hi
I just watched all of Slice's videos in one sitting
early foreal👌😅!!!
DatBoy Qay I
For me, I actually theorize that pink diamonds purpose was resource management and gem production due to how much sense it makes.
I think this is your best theory yet.
Once again you cease to amaze me.
2:26 They would also likely absorb like-minerals to grow the crystal, considering that gem appearance is based on the rocks around it.
Hoemeworld is such a creative name.
When you get a diamond jewlrey exchange commercial before the video
Whaaat! I loved this one so much. I played scales on the piano while I watched this. It was so good!
PLEASE GO MORE IN DEPHT THIS THEORY I LOVE IT!!! AND PLEASE KEEP DOING WHAT YOULOVE!!!
We need a video or book or something on Homeworld's government and economics
A nickname for this era would be the farming era
*Raises up steven like simba* ITS THE CIRCLE OF LIFE!
Its 1:17 in the morning, its my birthday, and I'm sitting here, with my phone, watching papa slice, trying to get my life together.
. Clicks video. 😁 . Ad pops up. DIAMONDS !!! WAIT WHAT❓
Slices new favorite word “*PLANETOIDS*”
XD
Though... that's a way to fit lots of loose pieces together. lol
I really like this theory. Well done as usual Otaku-Slice-Miester!
Oh papa slice now you made me notice how bad I should feel for Homeworld
I would looooove seeing organics become part of the gem empire, especially if fusions and hybrids became commonplace.
I love how jasper is the "perfect" quartz but most jaspers have a cicle gem so in a way she is not as pefect as everyone thinks she is
*A DIAMOND ADVERTASMENT PLAYED BEFORE YOUR VIDEO*
OHMYGOSH! Blue's human zoo is a way to let organic and gem life collaborate? Meaning more stevens!!
Connie got that shiro arm in the thumbnail. good video 👌
I think the very nature of gems is to take and not give back
You should make a video on gem hierarchy (if you haven't already). Explain which gems are used for what and who is the most important
