Johnnie Gray I feel like Pearl was one of the off color gem ever. maybe she was supposed to be made for pink diamond. as u know off colors get shattered but. so rose saved her
Battle Outrageous a pearl has a shine of all the colors. That's why she looks the way she is. If she was off colored someone would have done something when they went to save Greg
My theory is that our pearl was originally made for White Diamond, but she came out wrong. She wasn't perfectly white, instead she was off colored. So White tossed her aside to Pink's court. She probably saw her as ineffective due to her not even being able to colonize a single planet and this was just showing her disregard towards her. But from Pink's court she was able to meet Rose. This would explain why she resembles White Diamond so much while also wearing pink diamonds and having pink hair. Don't know who exactly she served but she was in Pink's court and was made for White Diamond.
LegitTrash I think it was because White was about to have her shattered within mind of her existence. Plus, she probably worked in the zoo and regardless of who she served (even though I don't believe it was Rose) Rose would have made her realize how horrible the zoo was.
Don't jump into conclusions now. Like Roundtable said, it isn't confirmed that the diamonds pearls are suppose to have the same gem placement as their diamonds.

Why should she have to cut herself off if it were an average gem that had no convenience or relation to the gems or the plot??? And starting off with served? All of the gems "served" homeworld in one way or another. Not to mention, a DIAMOND SOUNDTRACK PLAYS IN HE BACKGROUND. - It has never been officially stated who our Pearl belonged to. Why would we go on for so long without knowing? - REBECCA SUGAR herself KEEPS on stating Pearl is the gem we know LEAST about. No backstory except when she began fighting aside Rose. Hmmm, interesting. Obviously theyre trying to hide something about before then until later. But come on, we know ALL of the crystal gems backstories, but hers. - It is revealed in "Bubbled" that White Diamond had a gem on her forehead, just like our Pearl. The other diamonds have their gems on their chest, such as their Pearls. And if you still wanna go for the physical features, our Pearls hair kinda points up, having a similar style to WD's. Like the other Pearls their hair is similar, but not quite the same. - You could also argue that while the other diamonds Pearls are monochrome compared to ours and our Pearl is an average//rainbow Pearl, but that would be way too easy to figure out, and a gray//white Pearl would be kind of boring//dull. Like all of the others gems, Pearls can reform. Just look at 80's Pearl or how she looked at the beginning of the show. She could've reformed during the gem war or when Rose started the rebellion. At the beginning of "The Answer" Pearl is all white while Rose is all pink. She could've reformed her hair to pink because she admired Rose so much. It's confirmed by one of the writers that Amethyst has longer hair now because of Greg. She liked it so much, when she reformed, she copied it. Now, imagine our Pearl in a white dress and shoes. Yep. - I believe one of the reasons Pearl loved//admired Rose so much is because Rose was against the ways of homeworld, they pretty much treated Pearls as slaves and were good for nothing more then standing around looking pretty, hacking (opening doors), or entertaining their Diamonds. But in "Sworn to the Sword", Pearl says Rose made her feel like she was everything. And of course, you can say this can go for any Pearl, but it's just my opinion//thoughts. - Some people say she belonged to Rose, however I believe this is false because Rose was the leader of the Rebellion all together. She would be against how Homeworld treated Pearls. In "Bismuth", Bismuth jokingly asks Pearl "Now who does this Pearl belong to?" She replies "No one." Now, I don't think she would call Rose no one. And again, I don't think she would feel the need to cut herself off when she said "When I still served..Homeworld." Just doesn't seem right. Who over she served, she avoids talking about them. - Another common arguement, when Pearl says "Ugh, not all Pearls know each other, Steven." While talking about Yellow Pearl, maybe she was just offended. To Pearl that was like her asking Steven if he knew all humans, or if Connie knew all Indians. But Pearl never said "Yes, I know her" or "No I don't know her", we were never given a stable answer. But If she said she did know them, it would again be too easy. - In the trial, when Blue Zircon states "And where was her Pearl?!" it looks as Yellow Pearl has an "oh sh!t" face, likes shes been caught for knowing something or her secrets going to come out. What if Yellow Pearl knew everything that went down and our Pearl doesn't want us to know shes related to her in any way. - Peridot mentions how fancy our Pearl is, now we know there are rankings to this and our Pearl seems pretty high. - The other Pearls that belong to their Diamonds resemble them almost like their children, and like I said before it has never been officially stated who Pearls Diamond was. Anyways, like Yellow Diamond, her Pearl is uptight and kinda snooty. Blue Diamonds Pearl is soft-spoken, calm and gentle, just like she is. Now, you could say our Pearl in this case could've belonged to Pink Diamond, but it seems frrom Rose that Pink Diamond was all about love, healing, and even strength, (shown by Jasper and Rose), etc. It doesn't seem like our Pearl fits any of those categories. And if she did, why haven't we known about this yet??? I believe our Pearl is like White Diamond, and while we know nothing about her, her personality should be slightly contrasted to the other diamonds. Our Pearl is organized, bossy, and strong (mentally). That seems like the traits a ruler of an entire planet would take on. - Pearl knew exactly where the DIAMONDS moon base was, while the other gems were completely clueless. - Plus, maybe we havent seen White Diamond because how similar she may be to Pearl. Again, it would be too easy.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Pink Pearl was actually The Big Bad? She was trusted by Pink Diamond until she shattered her (or set her up to be shattered.) She wanted to divide the diamonds and she's been silently manipulating events ever since. It would allow for a morally complex antagonist and it would fit in with the show's theme of not judging a book by its cover.
I've actually thought in the past that it would be cool if there was a Pearl manipulating the Diamonds. With how close to Diamonds they are, while being viewed as subservient, it'd be easy for one to do that.

If Pink Pearl was on Homeworld, wouldn't they have asked her to be a witness at the trial?? I take that to mean that the Diamonds haven't seen her in a long time. Even if she was reassigned, the Diamonds would've taken care of her -- we can infer that Pearls are really important to their Diamonds, they're attached at the hip. Pink Diamond was their sister if her Pearl were left alone after she was shattered it seems like Blue and Yellow Diamond would WANT her to be safe, reassigned what have you. After all, Pink Pearl (and the zoo and all of the Rose Quartz soldiers) is the last living connection to Pink Diamond -- Blue Diamond at least would've asked her for some answers! Blue might've even kept her because they would both be grieving (provided she wasn't shattered by Pink Pearl which could also be a theory). Like Blue Diamond, I am crying out for answers.
This is a good theory. If you look at the Diamond mural, White Diamond is holding a planet between her hands. That could be homeworld. It's definitely a possibility that WD had something to do with Homeworld creation.

What if the Rhodonite Pearl, is a Pink Pearl? She doesn't necessarily have to be THE Pink Pearl, but A Pink Pearl. What if, she was in a trial to be Pink Diamond's pearl, But was decided that she wasn't identical enough to be Pink Diamond's Pearl, so instead was assigned to Morganite? This would also explain why she looks so embarrassed when she mentions who she was assigned to. This means that we haven't met Pink Diamond's Pearl, but it also means that we were right about Rhodonite being part Pink Pearl. This is probably just some head canon, but I think it's worth a shot.

My theory is still that Pearl was owned by all diamonds at some point, like passed down. Pearl is composed of four major colors. Those four colors are those of the diamonds.
I dunno. Maybe with White Diamond? Also, I think that Gems can change their hair color (look at Garnet), so maybe Pearl changed hers as to not be associated with White Diamond?

The case by Zircon in the Trial holds, but the ruby Eyeball seemed sincere in what she said about Pink's shattering. I think Zircon was right about everything but the coverup. I think White Diamond has the power to manipulate minds. If this were the case, then she could've changed the memories of those at the shattering to believe the perpetrator was Rose Quartz. That could be why people think the Rose's sword was used when shattering Pink even though Bismuth said it was specifically designed not to shatter. That's why the sword is the item Eyeball remembers about Rose. White didn't know that so put it in their heads. Being a trusted diamond, she went to Pink and told her to step out, as Zircon said. White then did the deed and altered the mind's of Pink's court. If White does have mental manipulation, then that could also mean she was a central force in corruption, a mental disruption.

shotshotdead I was thinking the same! Pearl, as we saw, is very good with swords. She always looks sad, scared or nervous when PD is ever mentioned. But honestly, I was thinking maybe, just maybe, it could of been Rainbow Quartz. It would make at least a little sense for the gems to think it was Rose, since Rainbow Quartz has her gem. Rainbow Quartz seems just...like a defective fusion, just like Sugillitr. Maybe not that bad but let's be honest, Rose must have been STRESSED if she was the leader of the rebelion, I think that's not the best form to fuse at. It would make sense for RQ to be defective, Pearl and Rose did love each other but both of them in a different way. Their personallities and feelings together? I don't think it would be good. I believe RQ would be much like Malachite in the part of them still being TWO persons, not just ONE like Garnet. If that was true, the control over RQ could have been split....or one of them gained the control. Think about it, Pearl wanted to help Rose. What is better way to help than to shatter the enemy? When they fused, Pearl could have thought that they are much stronger, thinking that she could try to shatter PD. She did, Rose trying to stoping her or unfuse, but Pearl wouldn't let her. It seems like Pearl think's she is strong ONLY in a fusion so this could make sense. The gems noticed and given the blame for PD shattering to Rose. Since it was Pearl's faulth it would make sense for her doings in the show. The Sardonyx problem, the trust she doesn't have in herself, the nervousness/sadness when mentioning Pink. If Pearl and Steven fused, creating another Rainbow Quartz it could send Pearl into panicking mod, quickly unfusing. I think it would be interesting, but that's just me! :D

Maybe she shape shifted into another gem (Rose Quarts/A member of pink diamond's court) and shattered the diamond. She doesn't like to shapeshift because it reminds her of what happened.
Honestly, that makes a lot of sense! White, Yellow and Blue diamond were considered "perfect" but Pink diamond was considered a "defective" diamond from height wise, personality and gem cut. For Pearl, she has multiple colours which led to everyone going to her being the Pearl of Paragon, who is the fusion of all the Diamonds BUT her gem is on her forehead and Yellow and Blue Pearl have their gem placed on the same part as their diamonds BUT (again) Pink diamond is what gems call "defective" and Jasper said in the episode Jailbreak "An over cooked runt and a *defective pearl.*" It would make sense (I guess?) that a defective diamond would have a defective pearl. This is just a theory I had. I actually support all of the theories based on the same topic.
A diamond's pearl should be just like her Diamond, personality, gem placement and color. So no, pearl is a *fancy* pearl, and she can be white's pearl considering her first color and her gem placement and her personality
Well I think that if our Pearl was any diamonds' pearl, it would still be white diamond. It's the most likely diamond for her considering she is white and became all white in the picture that you showed. With her hair being different, blue diamond has white hair. Her pearl is all blue though. That means that although they are a match in their main color, they don't need to be exact color scheme matches. Plus even with a show this unpredictable all the main characters need some kind of significance in their backstories. Amethyst was defective, Garnet made a mixed gem fusion for the first time, Steven's half human. She can't just be some pearl who was like nah I wanna fight stuff

Pearl is totally white though, white is comprised of every colour in the rainbow, reflect light off a white crystal and it will be multicoloured just like our pearl's look scheme
^ Pearl is probably all white and reflects many colors plus if she's white diamond's pearl that would make her the highest ranking pearl which is most likely the reason she is multicolored. Nothing says that White diamond herself doesn't reflect all diamond colors. Oh and let's not forget that actual white pearls are kind of holographic in the sunlight. So yeah she's probably white's pearl.
It's completely possible that Rhodonite's pearl isn't even pink. When gems fuse, their gemstones can change color, such as Amethyst turning white in Opal or Sapphire turning red in Garnet.
Good point! I didn't even think about that. Especially since Rhodonite hasn't "completed" her final form. She still looks very separate like cotton candy Garnet in the answer.
What if pearl was pink diamonds Pearl, shattered pink diamond (on accident) or witnessed it, then was injured during the events and changed her appearance (like amethyst did) to make it look like she was white Diamond's pearl in order to escape and avoid being persecuted for not protecting her diamond
Good point Mia and Max, however as we have seen so far, the gems can change shape and form but CAN NOT change the color of their gem, just the color of their hair and skin tone(as seen with Pearl and Garnet)
See, I don't know if this is already in a video, but I just wanna say it. I can imagine our Pearl having been made for, let's say White Diamond, but her being defective, so Pink Diamond being ( based on Earth gems such as Rose Quartz and the Famethyst and Amethyst ) a kinder? Maybe pearl was given to pink because she was defective, like pink. When you think about it, that would make sense to the diamonds. Pink doesn't get a lot of respect and only has one planet (which she got reluctantly,) so of course she would get whites leftovers instead of a new army/servants especially since they were running low on space/nutrients on homeworld.
So like, pearl could be (and probably is) white diamond's pearl, and I actually think that her color scheme could work for her actually being WD's pearl. So white (if I'm correct) is like every color when talking about light. What do we know in SU that's made of light? Gems. So pearl, the smart gem that she is, figured out a way to change her colors into the diamond authority's colors to signify that she doesn't belong. Oooooor she could do that to impress WD. I believe that Pearl cannot be White's Pearl because she is defective (1,Her gem is oval while Rhodonite,Blue Pearl,and Yellow Pearl's are all circular. 2,She's rebellious,there's even more but I cannot remember them all,) and the leader of the leaders wouldn't be caught with a defective gem

I have a theory that if Pink D was really shattered by a another D, then that would make sense for Pink pearl to be shattered as well since she'd just snitch on them.
Anime Nerd Her color could also mean she doesn't fit in. Kinda like the gems Lars and Steven met. Maybe she was defective, perhaps she must have not been subservient as the other pearls toward their diamond.
I know this is a stupid theory ,but whatever. So what I'm thinking is that White and Pink didn't get along with each other because Pink had loved Earth so she had used her pearl to go undercover as a pink pearl and given to Pink. When she was undercover she had been affected by Pink' s rebellious nature that is when Rose Quartz was mentioned and Pearl realized her faults and decided to follow Rose. Pink had changed Our Pearl' s personality, which would kind of explain why Rose was Rebellious too. I know this is stupid ,but yeah that's my theory.
I think that Yellow diamond told a rose quartz to shatter pink diamond, and as a reward, another rose quartz would be framed for it. Yellow diamond only wanted Pink diamond shattered to take Earth because of how much potential there was in earth.
Honestly we don't know how long Ruby and sapphire spent together before they met back up with Rose and Pearl. She poofed a lot for rose. She might have slowly became an individual and added color to her scheme to add more color.
And also if you compare how Garnet looked first when she fused to now, she does have a pretty stable color scheme. And Rhodonite still looks like a newly fused gem, with two colors everywhere and not a stable color scheme.
So that means that they must've fused in a rush, and became an illegal fusion of a pearl and a ruby (completely theoretical, but I'm just looking at the gem shape, placement, and color) since they're a fusion of a higher gem such as a pearl of a diamond and a lower gem such as a typical ruby for guarding. They could've been chased into the place ((pardon I forgot the name for now)) without unfusing.
I have a good theory in the episode "The Trial" the gem defending Steven makes a good point. I think Yellow Diamond shattered pink diamond. Now I know I'm jumping to conclusions but this is just a theory. But Yellow Diamond seem fine when they were talking in the trial Blue Diamond was crying. I know Blue is meant to cry but wouldn't you think Yellow would be mad or something? Once the gem defending Steven said "like one of you!" Yellow Diamond quickly acted to get rid of her so Blue Diamond wouldn't suspect anything. Yellow Diamond seems like she blamed rose since she was a bit close and was fighting for earth. So she making sure no one believes anything else. Also Yellow Diamond seemed to be a bit odd. But this is just a theory like if think this is good. Ignore if you think it's bad.

Well Skye and Steven here is my theory, yes our Pearl is White Diamonds Pearl, however she was given to Pink Diamond as a gift and as a means to keep tabs on the youngest of the Diamonds who was not “mature” enough so to speak undertaking the task of colonizing earth, though I think pearls blushing whenever pink diamonds name is mentioned it is because it stems from her remembering her time with rose quartz which in my opinion would make a bit more sense seeing as she obviously had those kind of feelings for her
And actual uncut white pearls are holographic so they reflect rainbows. She is most likely white diamonds pearl who was sent to earth as a scout to observe Pink's progress and was recruited by Rose.

I think our Pearl might be White Diamond's Pearl? Who even is White Diamond? Where is she? She isn't mentioned often. Was she shattered as well, but her case isn't has big as Pink's? Who knows? Do a theory on that.
She's the diamond with the largest planets to her name. She's conquered the most, meaning that also means she has the LARGEST COURT. That also means she has the strongest military, strongest sway in politics and essentially highest perch on the thrones. She is the supreme diamond. The 'High Clarity'.

I dont think it makes sense that our Pearl was a Diamond's since after Steven's and Greg's breakout she interacts with Blue and Yellow Diamond as if she was just a common pearl.
Juan Martín-Roldán that makes sense. even though she didn't technically interact with them, she was there. but the diamonds see a lot of gems, so it's possible they forgot her like they forgot about ruby and sapphire even though blue diamond ordered they be shattered.
Remember Peridot had to specify her identity when she called Yellow Diamond (Facet 2F5L Cut-5XG). They don't memorize the face of every subject - and many do look too alike.
As you can see in the episode Gem Heist, sapphire assigned everyone with a role and pearls role was sapphires pearl, personal pearl. And the episode offcolors we see a lot of gem that look likes a pearl like the pink pearl from the I think garnet gem. I think that it’s PD pearl
What if Pearl was meant to be White Diamond's pearl, but she was defective (As comparing the gem shapes of the pearls, our pearl has an oval shape, differing from the round shape of each diamond's pearl.), and was tossed aside, something as a failure, and that's why she can't open doors like a Court's diamond would, and that's also why she always feels like a failure, like she has to be better than herself? When she was with Rose, she was supported and treated like any other gem would. I think that since she always gets a little bit stressed about mentioning her service, was because she was seen as a mess, and she wouldn't want her friends to see her as being wrong, even though they would still fully love her. She's known to be paranoid, and if she was always being pushed to be perfect, this makes sooo much sense. No, I don't believe at all that Pearl was PD's pearl. It would fit much more if she was a rejected pearl out of WD's court.
Also, if our Pearl used to be WD's pearl, she would be mostly White, yes, but what if she slowly became a more colored pearl after serving Rose Quartz for so many years. She may have branched off of her origins, and started becoming her own Pearl, but as well with influence with Rose's (and many other gems she may have respected) and colored herself, poof after poof. We know that Pearl's are very inpressionable, since we've seen how the Courts' pearl both act and look like who they serve. Since Pearl has left being a discarded gem, she is much more independent, yes, but gems don't just change who they are completely. She would still be a very dependent gem, since that is what she was created to be.
There were theories that our pearl was sent as a hand-me-down gift from WD to PD, being a young diamond and all. Pearl might've been given to Rose too, Rose belongs in the Pink Diamond court, so she has everything pink from her space suit and on.
I'd like to offer a correction for rhodonite! Not only does the dim lighting change the loon of the color, but when our pearl fuses, the color of her gem does change! There is orange in Sardonyx's head gem, as well as lavender in Opal's gem.
Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing, I mean, I assume The pearl in Rhodonite is pink, given most Rhodonites are pink, and black or red and black, I think the only other color being Green instead of black. (I also don't think Ruby's can be black, i maaybe wrong though) But can't really judge based on their gem colors, their hair, eye color, and clothes on the other hand are a better example / identifiers, and since their just like cotton-candy garnet the first time she fused, it is easier to tell, since they keep their clothes, and smaller fused gems don't seem to lose their eye colors (IE: Rainbow Quartz, Garnet, etc)

I think that white diamond made a deal with pink pearl. Throughout the show, you can tell that yellow and blue diamond love pink diamond very much. Maybe white diamond was jealous of pink diamond because pink got more love and attention than her. Pink pearl may have been sick of serving pink diamond. I believe that white diamond planned pink diamond's shattering while pink pearl did it. Since pink pearl has the same color scheme as rose quartz, she could shape shift into her. Pink pearl also has the same gem placement. This form would be very believable. This is how she got so close to pink diamond in the first place. She would have been in the palanquin already. Then she would have shape shifted and shattered her diamond. After pink diamond's death, pink pearl would go to serve white diamond.

Do you remember the episode "the trial"? the entire time there are small clips of yellow's face when she does things like roll her eyes and such, and when blue zircon explains that only someone with a lot of authority could cover up the shattering, and says *"Someone..Like one of YOU!"* Yellow gets up, and poofs both of the zircons. It's pretty suspicious how, if yellow really loved pink so much, why she was just like "Let's just get this over with" when the trial was about to start, while blue was (seemingly) on-edge the entire time. When blue zircon asks to see blue diamond's palanquin yellow says "Is this necessary??" to which blue responds with "Isn't it?" Clearly, yellow doesn't care about pink as much as you think she does..
I would say yellow might be the villain or something hear me out yellow diamond is jealous of pink diamond because of the part that blue diamond loves pink more than yellow so she had to do something and also some kind of power grab as well look if yellow really cared about pink then why does she want to destroy earth since earth is pink diamonds planet or planet that she has
Also personally I don't think that the ruby and Pearl are romantically involved. I think they just didn't like not having power and felt that when they fused. Pearl did this when she fused with garnet, no romantic feelings. I just didn't feel a romantic connection between rhodenite and it didn't sound like a romantic relationship. They might just feel safer together and it might be platonic. I would love a platonic permafusion.

I don't know why but I've always believed that white diamond is just a fusion of pink, yellow and blue diamond and thats why we've never seen her or had her mentioned (because they can't exist anymore). Sawyer That would make sense, but in the trial, the floor lit up in yellow, blue and white in three different directions, and blue and yellow appeared where it lit up blue and yellow. We can just assume the white implied that white diamond is supposed to appear on that part of the floor. 1. The floor must be created after pink was shattered as there is no pink floor lighting up, and white wouldn't light up either if she was a fusion of pink, blue and yellow as pink is shattered so the fusion can't happen. 2. The part of the floor that lit up white was as big as the other parts lighting up. White would be much bigger than them if she was a fusion, so either she wouldn't have a spot there at all, or it would be huge. 3. Why would they need a part of the floor lighting up for the fusion when they already have their own ones, and why would they need to fuse for a trial in the first place?
Sawyer Judging from the murals that we have seen of the Diamonds, that doesn't make sense. The gem placement doesn't match up and I believe the color scheme doesn't match up either.
A "Defective Pearl" could be referring to her possibly being (considered) off color? A pearl is slightly opalescent, so her colors make sense. Seems like your idea of a Pearl's place in the Gem hierarchy is very agreeable, only important or high ranking Gems would own one, and the Diamond's would be more skilled than others.
In real gemology, anything hard enough can shatter a diamond. If you hit a diamond with a hammer, it will break. It is correct that only a diamond can scratch a diamond, so that brings up some questions in my opinion.
*My theory* It is possible that Pink Pearl is poofed and bubbled or still not revealed yet. I still remember in one *episode*, (I don't remember which one, but it was in season 4) Steven and (possibly) Greg escaped the zoo and visited a room filled with bubbled gems. I believe it is possible that these gems were Pink Diamonds soldiers/subordinates and maybe her pearl. But not all of Pink Diamonds subordinates were poofed, take by one example, Jasper. Jasper was one of Pink diamonds soldier (well it is strongly hinted by Jasper). Maybe the diamonds decided to keep using her, due to Jasper's strength. If this theory has some flaws, please let me know.

I have decided on a theory! LONG READ Pearl was white diamonds Pearl and when she witness her Diamond shatter Pink Diamond; she couldn't believe she was following a leader who was involved in shattering her own kind so ruthlessly and hiding it under the false ideology that Rose shattered her. Why would White Diamond shatter Pink Diamond? Pink Diamond seemed to grow a fondness towards humans (which was hinted by the fact that blue diamond was trying to save humans for her zoo in space) and decided she wasn't going to destroy the Earth anymore angering White Diamond! Rose Quartz probably saw and mirrored her Diamonds love for the humans and vowed to continue her legacy after she was shattered. Pearl more than likely fled after the attack; was saved and ran off with Rose to keep herself from being destroyed by her own Diamond for being against her action (treason?!?) Also it should be noted that when sapphire and ruby first fused they were a different color from their current state. Pearls color probably changed as well ORRRRRRR she was shattered by her Diamond (white) and brought back to life through Roses healing tears, due to the fact that she's gem she probably didn't turn completely pink; just her hair. I feel she is a very high candidate for being White Diamonds pearl. And Rhodonite could very well have been Pink Diamonds pearl. After witnessing or fleeing during the shattering of her Diamond she probably ran off with a ruby bodyguard and they fused to save her life and prevent anyone from recognizing her. Ijeoma Mbachu I don't think pink pearl is in the Rhodonite fusion because the gem placement doesn't match up. At least, we are supposed to believe that pearls have the same gem placement with their Diamond so she should have a belly gem. However, the pearl in the Rhodonite fusion is on the chest. If that pearl was pink pearl, shouldn't her gem be on the belly. I agree with our pearl being WD's pearl tho.
My theory is as follows Unlike all the other pearls (and indeed most other gems we have seen) our Pearl is actually multicolored; she has white, blue AND pink as part of her look (and her flight suit has some yellow as well). In other words, she has the colors of ALL FOUR diamonds. This may means she served the diamonds COLLECTIVELY as opposed to any specific one. My idea is like this, our pearl was made as a sort of liaison of and between diamonds, someone who could be sent from one place to another by them to either relay messages or oversee and report back. This would explain some things, like her unusual competency at things a pearl might not be expected to know, like how to build and fly a ship (granted she could have learned these things later, but we have seen she has a technical skill almost equal to Peridot who is literally BORN to be a technician.) her enhanced defense capabilities (we haven't seen the weaponry of any other pearls, but I have a nagging suspicion it is a lot less lethal than a spear.) And how she seems to know an unusual amount about Homeworld's inner workings (if she is an ambassador, she would have seen most of it) At least, that's how I see it.

The Gems would blame themselves for not being better to protect him, the humans would be sad without the happiness and optimistic little bundle of joy, and Greg would loose all he had left of biological family on Beach City. Yes, Connie could've been in tears, but also in frustration that he left them without thinking of how sad she'll be. And of course, she'll show concern. He's one of the only friends she's ever made, and he turned her life upside down happily. But when someone like that disappears out of your sight like that, it's depressing.

Here's my theory about the chest: Only Bismuth can open and close it. I think Rose put something so valuable or dangerous she stored it in a chest in Lion's mane, and she told Bismuth to lock it. Steven Universe her son is being accused as Rose Quartz, and was captured to Home world to be in a trial. Blue Diamond knows he's innocent, because it didn't make sense, but Yellow Diamond is angry and is trying to stop at anything to get him shattered. The person who shattered Pink Diamond is not Yellow Diamond, it would be way to obvious. Who I think did it? White Diamond. She's been staying out of the equation ever since the demise of Pink Diamond. She would be the only one to have a reason to shatter Pink Diamond. White is at the top, Pink is at the bottom. White could have thought that Pink Diamond's only worthless colony Earth made the Diamond's look worthless. So she asked Pink to step out of the Palanquin and shaped-shifted into a Rose Quartz (Diamonds is also a gem they can shape shift) and then she attacked her. Then she jumped away and turnt back in to her Diamond form. How did Yellow know? My theory is that our pearl was originally made for White Diamond, but she came out wrong. She wasn't perfectly white, instead she was off colored. So White tossed her aside to Pink's court. She probably saw her as ineffective due to her not even being able to colonize a single planet and this was just showing her disregard towards her. But from Pink's court she was able to meet Rose. This would explain why she resembles White Diamond so much while also wearing pink diamonds and having pink hair. Don't know who exactly she served but she was in Pink's court and was made for White Diamond.

- In "Adventures in Light Distortion" Pearl says "When I still served... Homeworld." Now, she cut herself off. Why should she have to cut herself off if it were an average gem that had no convenience or relation to the gems or the plot??? And starting off with served? All of the gems "served" homeworld in one way or another. Not to mention, a DIAMOND SOUNDTRACK PLAYS IN HE BACKGROUND.
- It has never been officially stated who our Pearl belonged to. Why would we go on for so long without knowing?
- REBECCA SUGAR herself KEEPS on stating Pearl is the gem we know LEAST about. No backstory except when she began fighting aside Rose. Hmmm, interesting. Obviously theyre trying to hide something about before then until later. But come on, we know ALL of the crystal gems backstories, but hers.
- It is revealed in "Bubbled" that White Diamond had a gem on her forehead, just like our Pearl. The other diamonds have their gems on their chest, such as their Pearls.
And if you still wanna go for the physical features, our Pearls hair kinda points up, having a similar style to WD's. Like the other Pearls their hair is similar, but not quite the same.
- You could also argue that while the other diamonds Pearls are monochrome compared to ours and our Pearl is an average//rainbow Pearl, but that would be way too easy to figure out, and a gray//white Pearl would be kind of boring//dull. Like all of the others gems, Pearls can reform. Just look at 80's Pearl or how she looked at the beginning of the show. She could've reformed during the gem war or when Rose started the rebellion. At the beginning of "The Answer" Pearl is all white while Rose is all pink. She could've reformed her hair to pink because she admired Rose so much. It's confirmed by one of the writers that Amethyst has longer hair now because of Greg. She liked it so much, when she reformed, she copied it.
Now, imagine our Pearl in a white dress and shoes. Yep.
- I believe one of the reasons Pearl loved//admired Rose so much is because Rose was against the ways of homeworld, they pretty much treated Pearls as slaves and were good for nothing more then standing around looking pretty, hacking (opening doors), or entertaining their Diamonds. But in "Sworn to the Sword", Pearl says Rose made her feel like she was everything. And of course, you can say this can go for any Pearl, but it's just my opinion//thoughts.
- Some people say she belonged to Rose, however I believe this is false because Rose was the leader of the Rebellion all together. She would be against how Homeworld treated Pearls. In "Bismuth", Bismuth jokingly asks Pearl "Now who does this Pearl belong to?" She replies "No one." Now, I don't think she would call Rose no one. And again, I don't think she would feel the need to cut herself off when she said "When I still served..Homeworld." Just doesn't seem right. Who over she served, she avoids talking about them.
- Another common arguement, when Pearl says "Ugh, not all Pearls know each other, Steven." While talking about Yellow Pearl, maybe she was just offended. To Pearl that was like her asking Steven if he knew all humans, or if Connie knew all Indians. But Pearl never said "Yes, I know her" or "No I don't know her", we were never given a stable answer. But If she said she did know them, it would again be too easy.
- In the trial, when Blue Zircon states "And where was her Pearl?!" it looks as Yellow Pearl has an "oh sh!t" face, likes shes been caught for knowing something or her secrets going to come out. What if Yellow Pearl knew everything that went down and our Pearl doesn't want us to know shes related to her in any way.
- Peridot mentions how fancy our Pearl is, now we know there are rankings to this and our Pearl seems pretty high.
- The other Pearls that belong to their Diamonds resemble them almost like their children, and like I said before it has never been officially stated who Pearls Diamond was. Anyways, like Yellow Diamond, her Pearl is uptight and kinda snooty. Blue Diamonds Pearl is soft-spoken, calm and gentle, just like she is. Now, you could say our Pearl in this case could've belonged to Pink Diamond, but it seems frrom Rose that Pink Diamond was all about love, healing, and even strength, (shown by Jasper and Rose), etc. It doesn't seem like our Pearl fits any of those categories. And if she did, why haven't we known about this yet??? I believe our Pearl is like White Diamond, and while we know nothing about her, her personality should be slightly contrasted to the other diamonds. Our Pearl is organized, bossy, and strong (mentally). That seems like the traits a ruler of an entire planet would take on.
- Pearl knew exactly where the DIAMONDS moon base was, while the other gems were completely clueless.
- Plus, maybe we havent seen White Diamond because how similar she may be to Pearl. Again, it would be too easy.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Pink Pearl was actually The Big Bad? She was trusted by Pink Diamond until she shattered her (or set her up to be shattered.) She wanted to divide the diamonds and she's been silently manipulating events ever since. It would allow for a morally complex antagonist and it would fit in with the show's theme of not judging a book by its cover.

If Pink Pearl was on Homeworld, wouldn't they have asked her to be a witness at the trial?? I take that to mean that the Diamonds haven't seen her in a long time. Even if she was reassigned, the Diamonds would've taken care of her -- we can infer that Pearls are really important to their Diamonds, they're attached at the hip. What if the Rhodonite Pearl, is a Pink Pearl? She doesn't necessarily have to be THE Pink Pearl, but A Pink Pearl. What if, she was in a trial to be Pink Diamond's pearl, But was decided that she wasn't identical enough to be Pink Diamond's Pearl, so instead was assigned to Morganite? This would also explain why she looks so embarrassed when she mentions who she was assigned to. This means that we haven't met Pink Diamond's Pearl, but it also means that we were right about Rhodonite being part Pink Pearl. This is probably just some head canon, but I think it's worth a shot.

Rainbow Quartz seems just...like a defective fusion, just like Sugillitr. Maybe not that bad but let's be honest, Rose must have been STRESSED if she was the leader of the rebelion, I think that's not the best form to fuse at. It would make sense for RQ to be defective, Pearl and Rose did love each other but both of them in a different way. Their personallities and feelings together? I don't think it would be good.
I believe RQ would be much like Malachite in the part of them still being TWO persons, not just ONE like Garnet. If Pearl and Steven fused, creating another Rainbow Quartz it could send Pearl into panicking mod, quickly unfusing. I think it would be interesting, but that's just me! :D

Well I think that if our Pearl was any diamonds' pearl, it would still be white diamond. It's the most likely diamond for her considering she is white and became all white in the picture that you showed. With her hair being different, blue diamond has white hair. Her pearl is all blue though. That means that although they are a match in their main color, they don't need to be exact color scheme matches. Plus even with a show this unpredictable all the main characters need some kind of significance in their backstories. Amethyst was defective, Garnet made a mixed gem fusion for the first time, Steven's half human. She can't just be some pearl who was like nah I wanna fight stuff

So like, pearl could be (and probably is) white diamond's pearl, and I actually think that her color scheme could work for her actually being WD's pearl.

I think that Yellow diamond told a rose quartz to shatter pink diamond, and as a reward, another rose quartz would be framed for it. Yellow diamond only wanted Pink diamond shattered to take Earth because of how much potential there was in earth.
Yeah I also think that it was an inside job, well it has actually been confirmed by the suspicious looks of YD in the trial episode.
Honestly we don't know how long Ruby and sapphire spent together before they met back up with Rose and Pearl. She poofed a lot for rose. She might have slowly became an individual and added color to her scheme to add more color.
And also if you compare how Garnet looked first when she fused to now, she does have a pretty stable color scheme. And Rhodonite still looks like a newly fused gem, with two colors everywhere and not a stable color scheme.

I have a good theory in the episode "The Trial" the gem defending Steven makes a good point. I think Yellow Diamond shattered pink diamond. Now I know I'm jumping to conclusions but this is just a theory. But Yellow Diamond seem fine when they were talking in the trial Blue Diamond was crying. I know Blue is meant to cry but wouldn't you think Yellow would be mad or something? Once the gem defending Steven said "like one of you!" Yellow Diamond quickly acted to get rid of her so Blue Diamond wouldn't suspect anything. Yellow Diamond seems like she blamed rose since she was a bit close and was fighting for earth. - Her gem placement
- Pearl can make holograms, and White Diamond is theorized to have Light powers

I dont think it makes sense that our Pearl was a Diamond's since after Steven's and Greg's breakout she interacts with Blue and Yellow Diamond as if she was just a common pearl.

When she was with Rose, she was supported and treated like any other gem would. She may have branched off of her origins, and started becoming her own Pearl, but as well with influence with Rose's (and many other gems she may have respected) and colored herself, poof after poof. We know that Pearl's are very inpressionable, since we've seen how the Courts' pearl both act and look like who they serve. Since Pearl has left being a discarded gem, she is much more independent, yes, but gems don't just change who they are completely. She would still be a very dependent gem, since that is what she was created to be.

I'd like to offer a correction for rhodonite! Not only does the dim lighting change the loon of the color, but when our pearl fuses, the color of her gem does change! There is orange in Sardonyx's head gem, as well as lavender in Opal's gem.
Also, Rhodonite says "our morganite". This means both the Ruby and Pearl served a morganite.
I think our pearl is like the backup pearl in case any of the diamond pearls died.

Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing, I mean, I assume The pearl in Rhodonite is pink, given most Rhodonites are pink, and black or red and black, I think the only other color being Green instead of black. (I also don't think Ruby's can be black, i maaybe wrong though)
But can't really judge based on their gem colors, their hair, eye color, and clothes on the other hand are a better example / identifiers, and since their just like cotton-candy garnet the first time she fused, it is easier to tell, since they keep their clothes, and smaller fused gems don't seem to lose their eye colors (IE: Rainbow Quartz, Garnet, etc)

I think that white diamond made a deal with pink pearl. Throughout the show, you can tell that yellow and blue diamond love pink diamond very much. Maybe white diamond was jealous of pink diamond because pink got more love and attention than her. Pink pearl may have been sick of serving pink diamond. I believe that white diamond planned pink diamond's shattering while pink pearl did it. Since pink pearl has the same color scheme as rose quartz, she could shape shift into her. Pink pearl also has the same gem placement. This form would be very believable. This is how she got so close to pink diamond in the first place. She would have been in the palanquin already. Then she would have shape shifted and shattered her diamond. After pink diamond's death, pink pearl would go to serve white diamond.

Do you remember the episode "the trial"? the entire time there are small clips of yellow's face when she does things like roll her eyes and such, and when blue zircon explains that only someone with a lot of authority could cover up the shattering, and says *"Someone..Like one of YOU!"* Yellow gets up, and poofs both of the zircons.
It's pretty suspicious how, if yellow really loved pink so much, why she was just like "Let's just get this over with" when the trial was about to start, while blue was (seemingly) on-edge the entire time.

Also personally I don't think that the ruby and Pearl are romantically involved. I think they just didn't like not having power and felt that when they fused. Pearl did this when she fused with garnet, no romantic feelings. I just didn't feel a romantic connection between rhodenite and it didn't sound like a romantic relationship. They might just feel safer together and it might be platonic. I would love a platonic permafusion.

We can just assume the white implied that white diamond is supposed to appear on that part of the floor.
1. The floor must be created after pink was shattered as there is no pink floor lighting up, and white wouldn't light up either if she was a fusion of pink, blue and yellow as pink is shattered so the fusion can't happen.
2. The part of the floor that lit up white was as big as the other parts lighting up. White would be much bigger than them if she was a fusion, so either she wouldn't have a spot there at all, or it would be huge.
3. Why would they need a part of the floor lighting up for the fusion when they already have their own ones, and why would they need to fuse for a trial in the first place?

Seems like your idea of a Pearl's place in the Gem hierarchy is very agreeable, only important or high ranking Gems would own one, and the Diamond's would be more skilled than others.
In real gemology, anything hard enough can shatter a diamond. If you hit a diamond with a hammer, it will break. It is correct that only a diamond can scratch a diamond, so that brings up some questions in my opinion.

It is possible that Pink Pearl is poofed and bubbled or still not revealed yet. I still remember in one *episode*, (I don't remember which one, but it was in season 4) Steven and (possibly) Greg escaped the zoo and visited a room filled with bubbled gems. I believe it is possible that these gems were Pink Diamonds soldiers/subordinates and maybe her pearl. But not all of Pink Diamonds subordinates were poofed, take by one example, Jasper. Jasper was one of Pink diamonds soldier (well it is strongly hinted by Jasper). Maybe the diamonds decided to keep using her, due to Jasper's strength. If this theory has some flaws, please let me know.

Pearl was white diamonds Pearl and when she witness her Diamond shatter Pink Diamond; she couldn't believe she was following a leader who was involved in shattering her own kind so ruthlessly and hiding it under the false ideology that Rose shattered her.
Why would White Diamond shatter Pink Diamond?
Pink Diamond seemed to grow a fondness towards humans (which was hinted by the fact that blue diamond was trying to save humans for her zoo in space) and decided she wasn't
going to destroy the Earth anymore angering White Diamond!
Rose Quartz probably saw and mirrored her Diamonds love for the humans and vowed to continue her legacy after she was shattered. Pearl more than likely fled after the attack; was saved and ran off with Rose to keep herself from being destroyed by her own Diamond for being against her action (treason?!?)
Also it should be noted that when sapphire and ruby first fused they were a different color from their current state. Pearls color probably changed as well ORRRRRRR she was shattered by her Diamond (white) and brought back to life through Roses healing tears, due to the fact that she's gem she probably didn't turn completely pink; just her hair.
I feel she is a very high candidate for being White Diamonds pearl.
And Rhodonite could very well have been Pink Diamonds pearl. After witnessing or fleeing during the shattering of her Diamond she probably ran off with a ruby bodyguard and they fused to save her life and prevent anyone from recognizing her. The ruby side of her could be the one who is continuously fearful; which is why she was so worried about them being followed when Steven & Lars first came to the gem kindergarten.

Fleeing with White Diamond after the attack; since our Pearl left White Diamond was in need of assistance anyway.

My theory is as follows
Unlike all the other pearls (and indeed most other gems we have seen) our Pearl is actually multicolored; she has white, blue AND pink as part of her look (and her flight suit has some yellow as well). In other words, she has the colors of ALL FOUR diamonds. This may means she served the diamonds COLLECTIVELY as opposed to any specific one.
My idea is like this, our pearl was made as a sort of liaison of and between diamonds, someone who could be sent from one place to another by them to either relay messages or oversee and report back.
This would explain some things, like her unusual competency at things a pearl might not be expected to know, like how to build and fly a ship (granted she could have learned these things later, but we have seen she has a technical skill almost equal to Peridot who is literally BORN to be a technician.) her enhanced defense capabilities (we haven't seen the weaponry of any other pearls, but I have a nagging suspicion it is a lot less lethal than a spear.) And how she seems to know an unusual amount about Homeworld's inner workings (if she is an ambassador, she would have seen most of it)
