Not to mention, Steven not only peeked into Lars' private life, but interacted with it, doing things in Lars' name (does this count as identity theft?). Lars was reacting like any teenager would; but everyone takes Steven's side. That just adds insult to injury.

you know there is one other option. His depression could have been a chemical imbalance. he could have been Clinically depressed. And the act of bringing him back to life... cured the chemical imbalance creating a personality shift in a way that he didn't understand. As he said, he felt... ok... for the first time in his "life" likely, he felt... normal... or like he precieved a normal person would feel.

Its so obvious that Lars has depression, i mean, his grades are suffering even though his parents are extremely supportive, he doesnt have many friends, hes moody and reserved and kind of rude, and hes constantly avoiding affection and intimacy with everyone. Hes such a deep character.

Mabelcorn N. Backsliding is a curse that does not effect us all. Though the road does have twists and turns, it does not require you to go in reverse. It does, on the other hand, require reflection, which is not to be confused with actual backsliding.

Plus he had been kidnapped and trapped within her body for days.
Plus his development was focused more on his social life than anything else. There was nothing to suggest he'd suddenly be brave enough to take on something most people could only describe as a monster. For him to even consider fighting back is probably more than other characters might have done. (Like, you don't see Jamie fighting for instance, but no one cares because he wasn't presented with the dilemma of whether to save himself or someone else.)

I always liked Lars. Idk. I just always picked up on the insecurity and even though it doesn't make his behavior justified, I just saw his development coming from three miles away somehow so I just soaked in his presence.
Part of me wants Sadie to make the choice that she wants to die, so she can go with Lars in space. I know it won't happen, but it would be nice.
However, I truly believe the Off Colors will stay, even if they live in the barn. They were always running away, and when they found a home, where they don't need to run, and can actually fight, why would they leave?!
Also, I believe that the Change Your Mind Special will have 2 22 min episodes.
One focused on Lars, and one focused on Lapis. Lapis will come around and help the CG's, but Lars' fate will be left in the stars

Yeah, she'll be dead, for about a minute. I know it won't happen in the show, too dark, but having Sadie want to choose Lars over earth would be nice.
I have a theory that when Lapis or Lars will leave for many episodes, possibly the whole season, but when the gems are about to lose a big fight, one of them comes to save the day. Or both. Be honest, how much would you freak out if the gems are about to lose to a diamond, and you just here, "Bingo Bongo!" and Lars is just flying on Lapis.
Pigerson The Pig I think Lars would probably do something like that. Lapis just seems too pessimistic to try something like that, I mean all she's done since she was introduced is try to run away or avoid problems, rather than actually deal with them. Even when she trapped Jasper in Malachite (something which I might add is only 1 of 2 conflicts we've ever seen her actually try to win), she'd avoid working towards a way to be free but rather just spend her days trapped. My point is, I don't see her being redeemed like that. The writers have made her too much of a pity case, in a way that the only justice for her character is an act of self sacrifice which ultimately results in her death. Lars on the other hand? I wouldn't be surprised if he went back to Earth, considering the whole point of Lar's head was about how he and the Off Colours were going to get to Earth together.

Honestly, I think Lars will decide to go back to Beach City and he'll resolve to not to be such a coward anymore. I don't necessarily think he'll work at the big donut anymore and stuff like that, but I still think (at least by the end of the series) Lars will return to Beach City.

I think it's the fact he's becoming more in-tune with his gem powers, how it's expanding and how he finally learned the truth(somewhat) about his mother, came to terms with the problems he's been dealing with in a way.

I love how the Cool Kids are actually cool as in open minded, friendly, and welcoming, as opposed to cool with the "Idgaf" attitude and rebelling against the man. I thought they would've had more of a hand in helping to change Lars for the better since he really wanted to be on their good side and fit in with them. But it's not like even they are worth going back to since he didn't have major interactions with them.

I never really disliked Lars. In fact, he's pretty much been my favorite character since episode 1.

One, Lars has been, and will always be my favorite SU human.
Two, I have died before, and when you are revived, and you wake back up, it doesn't feel like you're there for the first few MONTHS, it feels like you're watching somebody live your life, and when you get back in control, you don't feel like you're you anymore, the lines Lars used, "you brought me back to life, let me be somebody who deserves it", he isn't in control, it's the base functions of his now magic brain acting out. He is not Laramie anymore, he is not Lars anymore, he has to become somebody entirely new, he died, and he isn't coming back, somebody better than before is taking his place, but it's still him.

Sadie and Lars are some of my fav characters. They are (to me) relatable. You can tell Lars has anxiety, depression, but ppl in the past, didnt look into him as a character. Only looking on the surface
Wouldn't it be safe to assume that Lars changed because he feels comfortable around the off colors? He is accepted by them, something that he's always wanted. Not to mention that the off colors only just met Lars, so he probably doesn't have anxiety over hugging Steven in front of them. Lars and the off colors have a new relationship just starting, the only reason for him to come back to Earth is if the off colors did too or if he found a comfort with everyone now.

If these 2 characters were Rebecca's first characters in college, it has to have some kind of bondage with her. That she wants these two to have a happy ending. And Sadie dying and becoming Pink is not going to happen. I think she will love Lars, and probably join him on his adventures, but I don't see them not returning to earth. It ends when the werewolf asks, "And you love me? Even like this?", and the girl responds with that comedic, "I dooooooooooo!" Then they kiss and the movie is over. Then Steven sobs, "They just wanted... to be together!"
Does anyone else feel like this might be subtle foreshadowing towards the future of Lars and Sadie's relationship? Especially now that Lars is pink?

Personally, I’ve loved Lars from the Get Go. He was just a lost soul and I could honestly relate to him... I sill love him even as a space pirate, but I feel like this is his way of beating his depressive episodes and becoming a “new person” both metaphorically and literally.

I think he'll serve Steven and it's kind of pretty fucking obvious that Lars will attempt to get Sadie back. I'm pretty sure Steven would tell Lars to come back. I think there are other wars going on, "Let's make a plan of attack. Start looking forward, and stop looking back" - Yellow Diamond, so Lars may help in those. Though, I strongly believe that Lars has a high level of subservience to Steven, looking at Lion, he will most likely come back. When Lars sees Sadie again, he'll have to fight hard make up for totally abandoning her. She'll probably start trying to make herself like someone else, probably Ronaldo, and he'll go into depth of why he did what he did and apologize but understands if she won't forgive him. Gosh I've seen/read too many romance novels😂 He'll probably grow to love Sadie more, and next time he'll fearlessly fight to keep her safe. Being with the off-colors and fighting with Steven will battle-harden him to the point he'll fight hard. It'll also teach him to not only think about himself, which was just shown in him DYING. Sorry, but like dur it's so obvious where they were going with the last few episodes. Like come on they pretty much are yelling at the top of their lungs "WE'RE GONNA DO A LARS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ARC!!!!!" I'm very big into char. development, I'm doing comics and I want to delve deeply into the human condition😁💖💕
Id love nothing more than for Lars to just carry a picture of sadie and his family to remind himself why he's doing all of this in the first place when he gets an idea of the big picture and the oncoming war. Maybe coming in at the last second with some badass sword skills and helping sadie while the humans try to stand their ground.

I think a cool way to continue Lars' story is to have a Lars of the Stars comic book series. We have seen a few comic stories before, so a whole series based around the Sun Incinerator's crew would be amazing.
has anyone noticed that Lars is kind of like Marco diaz? He goes on a crazy magical and life changing mission that has altered them so much that they don't feel like they belong on earth anymore therefore causing them to leave behind their old lives for a while. I love both of those characters so I think its kind of cool.

I feel that if he does visit earth one last time, he'll either say bye and leave the people (including Sadie and his parents), probably before anyone tries to come along, or Sadie goes with them (I'd prefer this, but I can also see the other option where Lars and the off-colors leave before anyone says they're coming or could make it onboard so they wouldn't get hurt)
i feel like the reason he won't be coming back to earth is bc, as you said, who he is now cant really correlate w who he was on earth. he probably still has underlying anxiety about it; even if he wants to see his friends and family, what would he do there? he wouldn't be the big, bad space pirate that he is now. he wouldn't feel needed like he does when he's w the Off Colors. bc w them, he is needed. he saved them from their life on Homeworld, he helped them escape, he helped them get to where they are now. how could he possibly go from being someone who is needed by those he cares about, people he literally *died* for, to...just a donut shop worker? going back to earth would be like going back to his depression and anxiety, something he obviously worked to overcome. it just wouldnt fit
Lars is going to outlive his parents, and in some way i think he knows that as he's sort of already dead. he doesn't want to feel it so he doesn't go to back to Earth

I feel like crying. The FINAL episode of Steven universe will be so powerful. I can see all the new allies introducing each other and building more friendships. Lots of crying and happiness and Steven and Connie finally revealing their love for each other (romantically). 😥

I think it would be really cool if they created some sort of spin-off series starring Lars and the off-color gems.
A fun side story where Lars explores space while helping fight the homeworld gems. Maybe even have it tie into the main show with him passing on information they've collected about the homeworld gems to the crystal gems.
I wonder if Sadie will eventually join him...
