Very inspiring. Best of luck with the project. Since You use visual reference, I wonder, if You ever struggle with issues like this: I find other people's inspiration infectious. For example, watching Your Pinterest board, I had to remind myself not to look too closely (or not to like it too much), because it may pull me away from the project I'm trying to initiate rn. Do You take in visual inspiration without restriction, or do You limit it to things, that fit the general feel of what You want to achieve?

Thank you for your comment and your thoughts.
I would not like to use the exact references that someone else uses, but I would happily look at them to get ideas for how to put my own references together. This is closely linked to using other people's samples or presets. I use them as sources of inspiration to go and do my own thing rather than wanting to use exactly them. When I find references I do not start with "what does typical glitchy IDM stuff look like?" I look for things that spark my imagination, often to do with images hinting at a deeper story or meaning, without fully giving it all away. It puts my brain in an exciting place. I also like films, books & comics that are a bit like this. I have to say I really like "I had to remind myself not to look too closely (or not to like it too much)", I think doing just that can create exactly what I am trying to explain. It is like when you are driving past something, you think you see something interesting in the corner of your eye, but you can not fully grasp what you just saw, and then it is too late to go back. Your mind tries to fill in the gaps. I think that really describes what I am after. I hope this sort of makes sense

@@TheFellowPassenger Thanks for replying! It absolutely does make sense, although shows me, how different our reactions and/or needs for visual stimuli are. You avert Your eyes to make room for creativity, while I do to mute the influence altogether. My initial question would've probably been a bit clearer, if I mentioned, that inspiration really throws me all over the map and I'd never be able to focus long enough to finish anything, if I didn't shut it off regularly. On the other hand, I find seeing other people's workflows and planning stages invaluable, so I'll definitely stay tuned to see Your progress. Cheers.
