WEEK 3/6 : Composition : 6 week challenge recording a full IDM / Glitch Album

Week 3 out 6, I had planned to spend this week composing, followed by a week of arranging, however, I came to the conclusion that it would make more sense not to separate these two stages, so I will be spending the next week to complete the trax ready for mixing and mastering.

The technique you mention around 56:00-57:00, routing a randomized midi note into a scale plugin, is one I’ve been using for over 10 years. I came about it organically through experimentation with ableton. I took a few years break, but after finding your videos, I’m feverishly enthusiastic about experimental electronic music again. Do you have any recommendations for a usb rotary midi controller for live use?

Thats great news. And regarding midi controller, I have recently looked into this. I was very very tempted by a "faderfox" but expensive. I ended up opting for. TouchOSC for the ipad i already own. Sure it is not tactile in the same way but it gives me all the flexibility i need. I know allen&heath do one too which you can chain with several units.
