    Nice job testing it. Doing the due diligence of finding where the signal was coming from so that you knew the reception would be delivered from 6oclock was a nice touch. I think I’ll grab one for my 2022 trail boss. I’ll use your link. Hope you still have affiliation so it helps you out. Thanks for the video. 👊🏼

    Have used multiple stubbies on different trucks. One brand had a permanent bend from wind resistance after awhile. Didn’t affect signal but looked bad. Another brand performed well, but I was always hitting it when I cleared snow. I’m getting ready to try a Ronin bullet on the new truck. Being delivered today as a matter of fact. Mixed reviews so we’ll see. I live near a big city so most stations come in regardless plus I use Apple play more often than not. Overall I like stubbies. More aesthetically pleasing.

    Bought a similar antenna for my 2019 Duramax. . And wouldnt you know it, my original antenna was literally rusted together so tightly, that as i attempted to loosen it, it somehow just spins in place (with significant effort) and didnt back out!! So, after some investigating- I grabbed my bolt cutters, and clip the antenna off just as the base becomes a hexagon... Fortunately i could see down in it and actually see the tip of the base down inside, which is where I squirted some PB blaster on it and waited 24 hours... luckily I managed to get it out afterwards, thank you jesus!
    Great videos bro!!

    Just bought an RST coming from a 2010 Sierra Denali. Running into the same garage door scraping now and this will be my first “mod”. I may get one of the bullet styles, but a short antenna nonetheless.

  • @junkname9983
    @junkname9983 Год назад +3

    The longer antenna is tuned for longer radio waves. that means AM radio. You will not see any degradation for FM especially if you're tuned to HD Radio station since HD Radio is all digital. Either you get a reception or you don't, there's no gradual drop in like analog radio would. In fact, you might even get a better reception on that frequency you were showing with the shorter antenna. It's a clear winner.

    As long as the unwound length of the conductor is the same as that wire you can see wrapped around your original antenna whip, your new antenna is the same electrical size as the original.
    But the truck body will block some of the signal, depending on direction.
    AM will probably be most affected.

    • @garretts91
      @garretts91 3 года назад +5

      The wire wrapped around the stock antenna has nothing to do with reception. It just illiminates wind noise. The mast length of the stock antenna is pulling the signal.

  • @DR0CK
    @DR0CK 3 года назад
