🎤LV Slap Phone Ft. Mia'Mya & Sammie: On Point
UNTIL NEXT TIME, Byee 💛
I am grateful that I'm old enough now to have been a teenager in the 80's. It was the best possible time to be alive. It was a vibe that will never be repeated.
Truth
Saw them 5 times with Dave
I'll never forget the summer of "83"
Yes. I was 16 in 1980. The greatest of times
Diamond Dave is in a universe of his own making.
Look into that dudes life and you will find a world traveler that goes all in on a WIDE variety of 'life adventures', from mountain climbing to jungle excursions, to Japanese sword mastery to solo treks thru deserts for weeks at a time, this man LIVES LIFE. Hands down one of the best showman I have ever seen on stage back in the day, Roth was a master of his craft and a blast to witness.
Van Halen. They were my everything! 1978 first album- I wore the big NASA headphones 🤣
Everywhere. Full blast.
Then their concerts… 100% Van Halen is why I now need hearing aids! Fact!
From 1978 to 1984 Van Halen were THE rock band. They were a fusion of the Van Halen brothers (guitar & drums) hard rock style with David Lee Roth's (The Crazy singer/frontman) love of Funk & Soul music. Greatest American Hard Rock band IMHO. And...they were an absolutely incredible live act.
Van Halen was the party band of the 80s. Eddie Van Halen was a guitar God. He influenced a whole generation plus of rock guitarists. His brother Alex plays drums. And David Lee Roth was the front man of all front men.
"Jump", "Panama", "Hot For Teacher", "Unchained", "Ain't Talking About Love", "And The Cradle Will Rock", "Drop Dead Legs", "Beautiful Girls"
Yes to all!
Born in the 60s....and when the 70s and 80s kicked in...it was a very cool time to be alive. And the music......damn.
The whole band were and are rock legends. No one had ever heard or seen anything like them when they hit the scene. Absolutely groundbreaking, game changing music in 1978. The main reason for that is the guitar God, Eddie Van Halen. To truly appreciate this band, you first have to watch Eruption solo, live without a net in 86. It's 13 minutes, but you won't be sorry. Then you just have to dive into this band as a unit in action. Start with the original version with Diamond Dave on vocals and when you have checked out some staples, you can then check out the Sammy Hagar on vocals days, aka Van Hagar. I don't think you will be disappointed either way. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise until you see for yourself.
That guitar tone/sound is so unique. It is the most sizzling guitar tone ever! Man they are the best band ever!
Yes, more Van Halen please. They are the best, no need to waste time on other bands. Long live EVH
So glad I grew up in the '60s, '70s & '80s - PEACE LOVE n HIPPYNESS ✌💖☮
Even the mimed early VH appearances for tv are performance gold
I Don’t Doubt It At All .
Born in the 60's, grew up in the 70's ( best era ever! ) Van Halen , with David Lee was high school music! Love it!❤️❤️❤️
The book Van Halen Rising details how they basically saved rock and roll in the late 70s, and they just started as the biggest backyard party band in Southern California.
Van Halen was sooooooooooooooooooooooo popular. Totally listened to this band my entire growin up..throughout the 70's & 80's.
One of my very favorite VH tunes, if not my favorite. Every aspect of this song is absolutely BAD ASS!
It's just plain and simple funky rock and roll everything melts together so fluidly instruments singing an amazing song
Van Halen(with David in my opinion) was an amazing band..Eddie Van Halen is an amazing Guitar 🎸 player…VH had a lot of hits…to me what made Mean Streets a good song was amazing! Alex Van Halen 🥁…studio version. 🙏🏻❤️☮️
Still my favorite band of all time. I`ve seen them 5 times over the years including 1983 Heavy metal sunday at the US Festival, i will never forget that. I have a new rock band for you to react to they are 3 sisters from monterey mexico called The Warning, check out their live video on last years MTV awards the song is called Evolve.
They were at the top of their game here for sure.
Awesome reaction Miaa to Van Halen I'm a 80s guy I grew up in the eighties so van Halen's one of my favorite
thanks for the revaction great job! Go down the Van Halen rabbit hole you won't regret it! Cheers!
I lived thru the 70s 80s and 90s the 3 best decades for rock and roll so many amazing groups male and female
I like that this broad don't pause the song every 2 seconds or talk over the music like so many others do....
Kudos
She gets it. That's awesome. This is how you know there's still hope.
Van Halen always love that band the old Van Halen of course with David Lee Roth singing 🥰👌
trust me...we TOTALLY wore this song out!!
Hey Mia! Good to see you on here again..Love your hair too. Gorgeous! These guys have always been one of my favorites. What we called a party band. They rocked the house and you could dance to most of their songs. My favorite is " Dance the Night Away" I think youd love it and be surprised at the flavor. God bless ya. ✌️❤️ from Ky
As Dave has said "Van Halen is Big Rock"
Their heaviest and my favorite album/song... saw them live as my first show in 1979 as a freshman in HS. Dave was drinking a bottle of JD and jumping off the Marshall stacks. EPIC
You should watch another video. It's call JUMP! 😊
I'm still wearing this song this out!!!
You need to watch Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo "Eruption" from their 'without a net tour ". He will leave you speechless. Eddie is and will always be the GOAT guitar player. He is lovingly called "King Edward. Please go and listen to their song catalog through the years and with 2 lead singers. But Eddie's guitar playing only got even more amazing!!!
Yes love your reaction miaa to Van Halen outstanding Van Halen is fantastic
You should check out Eddie Van Halen eruption guitar solo just incredible
I like that she was very open-minded about this kind of music.
Thank You 😊
I like how you put your comments up on the screen during the song instead of stopping all the time.
Ya would've fit right in the 80's 🤘
This form of VH is the most compelling form in rock history
Vh were mind blowing in the 70's and early 80s
Wish I had a time machine, I would take you back to the greatest decade ever!
Just a note, the band wanted to play live. They thought they would be that day. They were known for their energetic, raw live shows. So their lip syncing shouldn't cause judgement on them. They LOVED rocking live.
Plenty of great Van Halen tracks for you to check out, how about trying
'Little Dreamer' 'Ice Cream Man' 'Ain't Talkin Bout Love' 'Happy Trails' 'I'm the one' just for some examples😉
Van Halen along with other professional Rock bands were notorious for making a mockery of performances
On shows like this because they hated lip/instrument sinking because they could play them easily live.✌️💛🤘
This does not happen to be a live performance but oh well…pre-recorded studio version put to video
One of the smaller venues Van Halen performed at back in the day.
I don’t know that there is a better reaction than this.
Those outfits were pinnacles of fashion - lol. This'll be a fun band for you. They have a good energy, especially with songs like "Jump," or "Panama." The song "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" is similar to this song. Great reaction!
Yes we’ve missed you!!! Eddie Van Halen is a rock guitar LEGEND!!! Check out his Eruption guitar solo video!!!
And the lead singer is David Lee Roth! He was definitely a performer! Check out hot for teacher!! Or just a gigolo.
The Feeling Is Definitely Mutual 🫶🏽 Okay Perfect Tina , I’ll Have To Check That Out Next 🙂 Thank You For All Your Love And Continued Support .
@@DoIttMiaaaa you deserve all the love and support! You will be AMAZED with his guitar solo!! Your jaw will be on the floor!!!
Eruption .... Good choice Tina 👍 I think Curren requested that in a super chat as well .
Alex Van Halen doesn't get enough cred for holding that sound. PS. Hot For Teacher and Your Really Got Me for VH in general.
That Grove & Hook is so .. good.
In 1981 we moved in with my cousins in la Puerto. It was hard livin but I made it out
Loved the reaction Miaaaa and congrats on 15K subs!
iT'S RAW! LOVE IT!
I subscribed because you do something I haven't seen yet, and I've watched many of these reactions videos. You put subtitles later for what you were thinking. I like that. It lets the song play, while we get to hear your comments at the same time. God job. Good thinking darlin'.
🔥
Edward Van Halen played and developed his own musical style out of logic and necessity- he couldn’t afford all the toys growing up so he improvised. A musical family background certainly was useful. He wasn’t a guitar god or shredder - that wasn’t his goal anyways. He just wanted to create. A legit musical genius that show us another way was possible
Music lived and dies from the late 70s to the mid 90s. So many types. So much new, and good, music to choose from. VH were beasts.
Hope more reactions Van Halen congratulations on 15.6k again
I'd call it hard rock, in this case funky hard rock, that had a strong influence on metal then and later. The VH guys called it "heavy rock" and David Lee Roth, the singer, would call their sound 'big rock" in interviews back then.
Funky Hard Rock , Yessss !! That’s The Exact Vibe I Got From This . Awesome Feedback , Thank You For This Info & Engagement 🙂
And thank you for the nice reply. You're a good reactor and a musical soul. Van Halen worked bars and clubs and had to play metal, rock, but also danceable music like funk and disco to get work before they got famous. Also, their singer was dance music obsessed and kept after the Van Halen brothers to keep danceable and what he called "girl friendly" music in with all the heaviness. So, they had a unique hybrid sound. Plus, the Van Halen brothers had a professional jazz musician for a dad, so they could swing far better than most rock bands. Hence, all their music had a real groove like no other.
They had some serious fun✌️
Dave and his swagger hahaha
Great reaction Mia a treat!! I really enjoyed this and congratulations on 15.7K
Thank You Paul , So Happy You Were Able To Catch This Late Upload 🙂
You might like the song "Unchained," studio version first. VH were known for bigger shows than anyone else. Literally. Seeing them live was always something you tried to do, if you could. I remember the day after they came through Chicago on the 1984 tour -- half the school was wearing the tour t-shirts, ALWAYS an important part of the next day at school following a show. You always wore your new colors. And everyone being into Van Halen just made them even cooler. I might laugh at a girl with a Leif Garrett shirt, and she might disparage my satin Led Zeppelin jacket. But at the end of the day, everyone agrees about VH's undeniable fun factor.
The magic of Eddie is going to be here for a while guitarists have been chasing him from day one
This song is Eddie’s best lead and the outsolo for me his very best. It’s dark, aggressive and just down right mean and angry! The lead in Humans Being is second. Check that one out, the full length version.
Great groove on this tune
Van Halen were the first band to perform like that, and also have an incredible lead guitarist and great drummer, who were the brothers in the band. They were the Van Halen brothers. David Lee Roth was the singer and Michael Anthony on Bass. Overall, Van Halen really taught all of us what rock music was all about. 🇦🇺👏👏👏
If you want to see a different side of diamond Dave, you need to check out his solo song, Just a gigolo! I really think you will love it.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Music that is musical 🤘😊
Eddie and Alex had a Jazz father and a classical mom, these swinging funky rock riffs are the results of that marriage. Rhythm section from heaven, and that groove… thank you, you’re gorgeous by the way, just sayin.
The late great Eddie Van Halen on 🎸 !
Check out their debut album, Van Halen l. You will become a fan.
The audio is the original studio recording with just some randomish video pieces thrown up there.
David Lee Roth was a martial artist and gymnast. He did stuff on stage that no other Rock start could do. And as far as their concerts they never lip sync their concerts never.
Always wanted Dave's hair. Mine grew up and curly (My Jewfro was strong!).
My fave
It’s not actually a lip sync FYI. it’s was a real live performance. This footage was just used by someone to make a “music video” with the studio version dubbed over it.
Check out Eddie Van Halen eruption guitar solo. You'll see why he's considered the guitar God. You'll never look at the guitar the same again....
I like you Born in the 90's shirt!
You should check out Eddie Van Halen's son, Wolfgang....in Don't Back Down by Mammoth WVH
One of the better V.H. tunes you'll ever hear. Eddie had so much more riffs he never recorded. He ws a dynamo on acoustic and electric guitar. And here Dave Roth is in his prime.
Please react to the song Jump from Van Halen. You'll love it Miaaaa!
Eddies rhythm playing was as great as his solos, he was also the writer of the music and Dave wrote lyrics.
Believe me when I tell you Miaaa we did wore this song out , even today ✌️2023😎
1978 to 1984 / The Roth Yrs
Listen to it all
This song is best without the cheesy video. Listen to it in a dimly lit room.
I am a guitar genius now
watch this for your own enjoyment 😉
"Van Halen - 1983 US Festival Full Concert" and don't forget to check out David Lee Roth's solo stuff 🤘
Gotta check out Stevie Ray Vaughan, Life Without You, Live at the Capitol Theatre
Eddie is the real guitar God
David Lee Roth is feeling a little high right here😎
That’s Rap! 😎😜🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Check out Chain Of Fools and I Wish It Would Rain by Little Casaer and For The Love Of Money and Smooth Up In Ya by the Bulletboys
They were like no other band. James Brown meets aliens
VH was the best. Definitely a funky song
There’s a reason no one in the band took a swing at David lee Roth.
Loved this video. Check out "Dance the Night Away." I think you'll like that one as well.
Van Halen are a Rollercoaster!
Jam
