This is a 41 year old song that still shows what real rock with incredible musicians can create. Thank you Asia and BJ for appreciating music that can't be duplicated. I can honestly say that it's reaction videos (good ones) that are doing a lot to share and introduce music to an audience that might otherwise not know it exists. When I was younger it was listening stations in music stores, but now, thanks to people like you, classic music is introduced, and appreciated, in modern times.

Yeah... it's just a lip sync. You can tell right from the first note. EVH didn't use that same tone live. It was meatier than the studio recording. And Roth always added extra stuff in the vocals. Still an great song. I heard them on 3 straight tours from Women and Children first through Diver Down. Fair Warning was killer.

Diamond Dave, David Lee Roth was into the martial arts and it showed in his abilities on stage to bring in those acrobatics a showman. Mean Streets is one of their best, highly ranked by many music critics for Eddie's intro, this riff and the subject matter.

From '77 til DLR departure '85 they were IT ! Everybody would focus on Ed's solo's when it is his rhythm play that was the jewel. I have been listening to his ISOLATED guitar tracks since his passing and recommend everyone listen to a few of them. The sound and tone on some of the tracks are beautiful (actually all of them are)

We were so spoiled back in the day. We expected a high level of performance from our Rock Bands and they delivered it to us all through the 70's and the 80's. It was just a high bar that everyone was expected to perform at. Sometimes goofy and a little cheesy but it was authentic and hella entertaining. When you paid your 10 dollars or maybe 25 dollars to see a high level rock concert OR an all day Rock Festival, you expected to see the best show and we saw many of them. One of the best of the songs from the classic lineup of Van Halen. I only saw the original lineup once but David Lee Roth was so drunk that he couldn't perform and it was a two hour wait for their set after the Scorpions played and a long hot day at a festival so most everyone in that 300,000+ crowd was heading for the gates in disappointment. Hard believe that it has been almost 40 years ago now. I still got the concert T-shirt from the Us83 Festival tho 😆

Some of Van Halen is timeless...actually most of Van Halen is timeless. I was paying attention when these songs were first released. It is always fascinating to discover people just now discovering this art. Van Halen is music that is raw, innovative and virtuosic. It moves you. It demands that you listen. So many of today's artists are afraid to be different. Van Halen always approached their art from the standpoint of "everyone get the fu*k out of our way. "

As others have said DLR trained in martial arts. He trained with Benny "the Jet" Urquidez former World Champion kickboxer in Van Nuys,CA. The Jet Center was the name of the gym. Actor John Cusack also trained there and in the movie Grosse Point Blanc John Cusack fights Benny the Jet in the hallway of his HS at the 10 yr reunion and kills him with a ball point pen to the throat.

There's a version of that somewhere on RUclips made before they were signed, and influenced by Ted Templeman. This is a great example of how a sympathetic ear on the side of the band can truly help get them on their way. The version I mention is structured very differently and is a great listen for those interested in origins.

Generally, a good way to tell old school 'live' vs. TV audience 'Live' is the lack of cords for the bass and guitar, there were little to no wireless audio relays back in the late '70s and early '80s, and everyone was dragging a cord around the stage in a real live concert.

You can also tell because it is a fade-in. Bands don't "fade-in" when they are playing live. Plus, if you are familiar with the album and song, you can tell it is the exact studio version. Plus, at certain times, Eddie and Michael are "singing" the background vocals to themselves, with no microphone near them.

MTV has many videos that were studio recordings with a recorded 'performance' to watch. Seriously - these were more fun than most of the 'Artsy' videos that also began appearing. That is if the band is dynamic and charismatic.

      Ya'll are so cool.
Not to come off as pushy, but I think that ya'll would enjoy a Lynyrd Skynyrd song that hasn't been reacted to by your channel. That song is
      "I Know A Little"
It has a bit of a Rockabilly rythm and beat sound. Thank you kindly.
Best wishes and continued success from a former Floridian now residing in San Diego.
