Love all the real wood trim, doors, floors and walls, and the attention to details. Overlook....gee, where have I heard that before? Kind of sparks chills, don't you think?
Buildings were made from real wood, from real trees. Ones that grew naturally versus how we grow trees in 2024 monoculture in grid patterns, factory tree farming is faster and more efficient but doesn't produce near the quality. In ye olden days, these homes were sheathed in stone or brick, now we use vinyl (plastic sheeting). People spend big money on a steel door when you could cut your way through an outdoor wall with a battery powered saw's zall.
@@robinlawrencemongeau maintenance is important for very old buildings, old buildings, newer buildings. Actually all buildings need maintenance. Do you need my help?
My cousin grew up in a mansion like this, hidden rooms for hiding people, hidden closets for bootleg booze! Underground tunnels and everything! I was sad when they had to move to somewhere smaller, that was a little kids amusement park!!
Beautiful video of this Little Falls mansion. Well done to the historical research and narration. The drone shots were very well done. Little Falls is a great community in New York State.
This guy made his fortune developing innovative technologies in the dairy industry as well as the aforementioned oil heating system for residential homes…. IIRC, it’s now a heritage landmark site and is preserved/managed by a foundation
Most people consider a castle to be (or have originally been) a military fortification. Over the decades they weren’t needed for defense and became beautiful homes. That might be why some are scoffing at “castle” rather then “mansion”. A mansion would have been built from the start as a house.
@@bigredc222 there was some confusion why some people were calling in a mansion rather than a castle. Is it okay if a common definition is applied? Sorry I hurt your feelings.
It’s a beautiful place if I ever owned a property like that I’d never touch the woodwork you don’t find workmanship like that anymore it’s just absolutely beautiful the Stainglass windows exquisite the whole place yet it is a little touchups here and there but on the overall it’s still a little place we could be made into so much more a single-family home the woodwork is just stunning it’s beautiful not to Waze about it I just need some color on the outside in the in the grounds area
Overall, I enjoyed this video. The house and history were quite nice... But, having all of the commentary coming into only my left ear while the music came in the right was a bit difficult to listen to. I'm not trying to bash your video, just giving a bit of constructive criticism/advice for moving forward. Balancing the audio between both channels will allow for a more "comfortable" experience that may lead to more views and likes.
There is still a lot that needs to be completed - there is no railing crownlet on the balcony roof, there is no carved, intricate valance under the balcony roof, the balcony posts are straight. Straight roofing window platbands were on the original plans. The bar is already a small extension. But if I were a billionaire, I would take it and return everything to the original plans - the entire exterior.

that is certainly an idea...but this can absolutely be used as a single family home. It was used as such until the early 90s. A new kitchen needs to be installed...but a great investment in a place like this.
@Brandon-li3sg I grew/live in Detroit. Agree with you. We are lucky here. I hope we keep the luxury historical homes we are lucky to have. On the precipice of having to make serious decisions to our culture and our history. My our future generations win! ♥️♥️♥️
These homes are priceless gems.

So beautiful. Just imagine if every human being could experience the richness of this beautiful architecture.

What an amazing & gorgeous property.
What a beautiful property, and the potential of the town of Little Falls is a big bonus.
THANK YOU FOR WATCHING! YES!!! little falls has great potential!
Wow! So beautiful. Although the name gave me chills. Steven Kind's Overlook Hotel was a really cary place.

It's a steal at $2,000,000!!!
Location, location , location. Little falls is very beautiful but is a tiny town. All depends on what you’re looking for
The upkeep and utility costs will be extremely expensive.
stunning, jaw dropping ~
awesome!

"single Single" indeed... 'multi-modal' Yeah!.. Sincerely though- gorgeous place
A castle is a fort. I think you mean a palace.
Looks like a mansion.
Seems a bit grim.
❤❤❤
Frankly its frightening. Spooky drive up to the house. Kinda hidden away. Even the overlook over the town had a 1970s B horror flick about it.
