- This beautiful old house was built in the late 1800’s for a roller mill owner. The mill began operating in the middle 1800’s and a smaller modest house was built nearby around 1850. Sometime later after the civil war, the mill would see a renewed success, essentially creating a small town or mill village around it. When this beautiful Victorian farm house was built with a large wraparound porch and very unique vernacular design. Every room in the house features a fireplace and the home still features some stunning woodwork and architectural details. The mill closed its doors in the early 1900’s for the final time and the house was lived in for another few decades before ending up forgotten in the 1980’s. Really loved this house, thank you for watching! Like and leave a comment below for me if you enjoyed! Thank you!

This house is stunning! I love the layout and design of first house. I hate how history is disappearing because people want the new modern homes. I would take one of these any day. Thank you Kappy!
It's because of political cancer that history is being erased.
So true!! I’d take a sturdy well built old house over some new pre fab building! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
I agree!!!!
I’m with you two, I love the older homes and I could never pass up a wraparound porch. ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸
So sad the owners never restored this home. Would have been worth the time and effort.
It breaks my heart to see these beautiful old farm houses abandoned like this. Ever since I was a child it has been my dream to live in one of these old American houses. I am in England BTW.
The memories these houses must hold when it was full of life now just deserted, abandoned and forgotten, you are right it is a shame.
Well said! Really is heartbreaking! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773This house with its wraparound porch that so many kids played on so many times for so many decades, and so many other houses like it, make me think of the wonderful old John Anderson song, "I Just Came Home To Count The Memories". Give it a listen. It would be great theme music for your channel, if you can get permission.

At one time, I believe this was (or could have been) a stunning house. I love the wrap around porch.
Beautiful old places...left on their own.😢
Really is such a shame! Just beautiful architecture!! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
No plumbing, no heat except fireplaces. Only electric I saw was ceiling bulbs. Extremely lovely. Thanks for the tours!
I saw a number of electrical outlets on the walls.
and no bathroom
I love old farm houses like this one. ❤
Me too!! Thank ya very much for watching!! :)
The first house is beautiful. It has so much character. Today's houses are so blah looking. People knew how to really build houses then. Not only were they built to last but they were beautiful.
These houses were built to last... simple, beautiful, well planned for use and comfort. I just love them...Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication. Your videos are so relaxing and enjoyable...Happy trails...
So glad you enjoy!! Really appreciate that!! Thank you for the kind words and watching!! :)
I live in the country, many many farm homes have been torn down, the owners stated it is cheaper to build brand new than to restore. It saddens me. I absolutely love old old homes.
I could live in the first house. No bathroom? No problem. I'm no stranger to having drywall hung to block unlivable/dangerous areas. This place calls to me. Kappy can be counted on to share these treasures every Saturday morning, come what may!
Kappy thanks for showing this beautiful old victorian farm house. You just know it was beautiful and grand back in its day.
I don't understand why this beauty was abandoned or why it hasn't been restored. I hope that the lady bug brings this house some good luck. If I was young and had the money, this place would be mine. I already have so many ideas spinning through my head. It really does have so much potential. Someone went nuts with a sledgehammer on the second house.
love the architecture, big rooms and doorways ,windows and fireplaces.such a waste.😥❤️❤️
Can you imagine all the functions from birthdays, weddings, first kisses. The magic that came from this house. Would be a great place for metal detecting. Great job.
I love that😮 wrap-around front porch. I am always so impressed by how sturdy old houses are unless they are exposed to the elements. Thanks.
Well said! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Yeah I'm always yelling at the TV about closing the windows and doors haha. I wish he traveled to these places with plastic wrap haha. Oh, and a broom!
The size of the rooms is bigger than most modern homes! This one is stunning! I can’t imagine what it looked like in its prime.
I can imagine how stunning it was when it was first built! That front porch? Just beautiful!
That porch is a stunner!! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
So sad someone should restore this beautiful home
Beautiful Old home it's sad to see these old homes abandoned.
Such a grand old farmhouse! Some plusses right off the bat; it's surrounded by no one, the awesome porch, the double foyer with the gorgeous archway and the beautiful woodworking! The rooms are quite large which is another plus. No bathroom was no doubt difficult. I can't imagine having to use the bathroom and trodding outside in the dead of winter to use the out house 😬. I'm sure they use chamber pots in some cases. I guess bathing would have been done using a big wooden tub, but where? I wonder if they had an outbuilding for that? It makes you really appreciate having a modern bathroom 😆.
It's sad that it's been abandoned to nature.
The second house is a quaint old place sadly rotting away. Again no bathroom which gives you a general idea as to how old it is. It's just so sad to see it decay like this.
Another great adventure Kappy! I always enjoy your explorations! 🤠👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Oh my goodness Kappy!! This house is absolutely GORGEOUS!! Those porches! I keep saying this one is my favorite or that one is my favorite but this one is my FAVORITE! lol! I hate to see this one just rot away. Gosh I wish I was a millionaire! lol! I’d buy most of the homes you bring us. lol! Thanks Kappy for another beautiful find. Stay safe! 😊
Thank you, thank you!! :) Me too! I’d have a hard time picking my favorites lol! Thank you very much for the kind words and watching!! :)
Where I live, many folks are building brand new homes made to look like old farmhouses. They are lovely.....but....there is nothing like an original 1800s farmhouse! ♥
Wonderful detailing inside and out. Such a shame that it has been left to die from neglect. It would take a LOT of money, very hard work and dedication to stay true to the soul of this house to bring it back.
Thanks for another great video Kappy. What a house. I imagine these homes full of life all those years ago and it's always sad to see them falling apart. Always look forward to your videos. :)
So sad, I love the first home it would nice to see it restored.
Thank you very much for watching!! :)
You can tell the age of these darlings by the lack of a kitchen and bathrooms. This is an old house and I'm fidna" to go find it.Lovely.
Where lives were lived and memories made.
I love these older homes. So much detail in the woodwork. If these walls could only talk……….
Can you visualize what that house looked like when it was new, would have been a very beautiful place to live in really nice detail. great explore !
Cool old house thanks for sharing Kappy
The trim around the doors and windows is beautiful.
Right! Just loved it! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
The outside of the second home reminds me of my grandparents home when I was a little kid in the rural area in Louisiana completely made of cypress ❤
I visited 5 years ago. Majestic is the right word. Pretty cool abandoned school up the road too.
That first house would have been quite the showplace in its day. The porch and that arched doorway were my favorite details. Sad about the missing back of the house and the painted woodwork, though. Second house, from the outside reminded very much of the house I grew up in. The inside, not so much. Thanks, Kappy. You make my break from Saturday house cleaning so much better
Agreed! Just loved all the unique design choices of the first house!! Thank you very much for the kind words and watching!! :)
@ user-Randi1987. Hello. For many years, historians thought that early homes were devoid of colour.: : An author by the name of Jeanne Mahinick, spent time examining ,scraping paint off old houses exterior and interior, plus furniture.
Is the first one forsale. I would like to restore it? How do i contact you? @@urbanexploringwithkappy1773
Seem to last forever I dont think the houses they build today will last as long..
I love the simplicity, elegance, and demeanor of this house! The land is beautiful. I'll bet this small farm really thrived! Thanks, Kappy! Another plus!
Love this house
The dark woodwork and wooden floors n staircase reminds me of ole western style salon and hotel.. it's beautiful n lovely grand porch..
Love this house. Really must have been amazing back in the day! Loved the porch.would have been peaceful sitting on porch . Just listening to the sounds.
Thank you Kappy for finding these two beautiful homes.I wish all of these houses could be fixed back up.The first one was so grand back in her days. Can't wait for next one.
Thank You, as always
I bet the first house was beautiful when it was first built.
10:21 - The scenery outside this window is so beautiful and picturesque...it could be a painting.
You know I’m in love with the arches, stained trim and those wide hallways! Some say it’s wasted space. Not me. Interesting tidbit: my grandmother had a kitchen with pump water long before she had an indoor plumbing. I guess if you’re used to going outside, your used to going outside. 🤷🏼♀️❤️
All of the beautiful old wooden floors…wow…❤
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⚓ That was a remarkable old home, such beautiful trim and a layout like you say is really cool. The nature photography is always beautiful Kappy. Keep up the good work and be safe 👍✌️🇺🇲
Thank you for the many views of homes in Tennessee. A trip back in time.
Big, bright, open floor plan and beautiful exterior details. Really appreciate this one Kappy. Thanks…
I'm sure that was once a beautiful place! And the location I like too. Looks peaceful!👍
Beautiful old house. It should be saved.
Would be so amazing to restore a home like this. Great find! 😊😊😊
Beautiful houses. Thank you for sharing them with us!
Awesome! I’m Home with a nasty summer cold, how nice it is to see your latest post, a nice
diversion from being sick
Sure Love that porch & extraordinary woodwork. I can see kids running back & forth on that cool porch! Thanx for making our day better Kappy!
What a beautiful house.
Love the first house!!!
The first house needs to be saved. The second one has a creepy feel looking at it outside.
Kappy that first house is just stunning! There are so many beautiful features such as that beautiful porch, the wooden arches, the wainscotting, and the fireplaces. All of the rooms are large and have multiple windows for natural light, just gorgeous! I would have loved to tour this years ago. Have a good week.
What a fantastic porch on that wonderful house. Roof still doing it's job it seems. Someone should fix it up. It would be a awesome place to live
Looks like this was a beautiful home back in the day. Sould you imagine how much wood they had to cut for all of those fireplaces!
Gosh I WISH money was no object, we’d LOVE to restore that cool house. ( and add plumbing lol)
Kappy should win the youtube
best abandoned places in
America. they are
really amazing
it’s really a shame
a lot of these
places have graffiti
and are tagged.
A wraparound porch with a swing on each side sounds good to me! Lovely farmett! Hope it's still standing in paradise!
It's def beautiful and elegant even in her old age.
Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Someone save this beautiful home!
No bathroom or kitchen, it appears no renovations were done other than rudimentary electrical installation. What a time capsule of American history. That would be a perfect house to offer up for a dollar as local governments often do. It does need a new foundation to meet code along with a new roof, structural repair, and a number of other code compliance issues. For the right person it could be dream home.
I imagine this place was beautiful during the fall.
I remember to visiting mother's family in a house very much like this beautifull one. I heard that it was pulled down. What a pity. Old houses have so much memories. A pity that houses can't talk.💗💗💗
The first house was so wonderful, I loved the second floor landing and how the rooms had their own colors !!! Porch was perfect!!!! Second home I loved the outside look and where it sat all by itself!!! Thanks Kappy !!!!!!
I loved this house, I just love looking at the old houses and plantations. they are just wonderful.
Beautiful old house. Too bad it’s been left to decay. Love, love, love the wrap front around front porch with the beautiful view. Thank you so much, Kappy!
What a beautiful old house 🏚. I like the way it is made.
It was grand in its day, so pretty.
Built very sturdy first house.
KAPPY U NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE US.KEEP UP THE WAY U TALK ABOUT THESE LIKE YOU FALL IN LOVE W.THEIR STRUCTURE. ❤️ GREAT WORK
Good morning Kappy! Ty 4 another great vid. Wrap around porch is awesome. It's said these old houses left 2 die😢. Plz b safe out there.
I still see the beauty & charm in these old homes! I wish someone would fix them up! Cool video Kappy! ❤️🤘👍
Oh, those talk windows, doorways and fireplaces are lovely! Thank you for this tour
Off the grid living. No electricity, gas, or water. I think the "kitchen" was the room behind the living room because there seemed to be an access in the chimney for a pot belly stove. Very basic floor plan, every bedroom was about the same. No basement. No attic. Burn wood for heat. No telling where the outhouse was. Too bad the back porch is gone. I love that the wood hasn't rotted away in almost 200 years, that old growth wood is fantastic. Shame about the stairway railings gone. I don't see fixing this, but some of the wood should be salvaged.
Loved both these places. Looking past the graffiti in the 1st place, it had some great features. I think my favorite room would have been the yellow bedroom. I liked the way they painted the fireplace mantelpiece.
#2 house is similar to a place here in our town. It's more of a utilitarian place. Not real showy but I think the people who lived in it back in the day, working hard and raising their kids.
Another great video Mr Kappy! Thanks for taking me along!
Hi Kappy, thank you again for another amazing explore. Both those houses were amazing. The first one I absolutely loved the first time you filmed it, I'm a sucker for a wrap around porch. The history behind these houses and the stories they could tell . I can't believe neither house had a bathroom, that must have been rough with bathing and outhouses but the house is still amazing. So much character. Thank you again for taking me places I cannot go. Have an amazing holiday!!!✌️❤️
Nice to see proper use of shutters. Nowadays people stick them on willey nilley, they were meant to close over a window.
Loved 💕 the 2nd house also. At front of the house the front porch with the over hang was nice. Loved 💕 the overhead window. I just got to say that I love the whole front of the house.
Probably my fav farmhouse, love the veranda and the setting ❤
Love everything about this one!
Thank you for filming this one ❤
I wouldn't mind living there.
Love when you re-visit houses. This is one of my fave homes-such beautiful style inside and out. Thank you!
That first house was gorgeous back in the day. Lots of chamber pots. Nice explore Kap👍
It must have been absolutely stunning i it’s day!
Back when i was in my 20s, we tryed living in and restoreing . It was hard and fun. We had help, there was a tiny bathroom and electric. Not much else.
That house was so beautiful. Loved seeing it.
Loved the layout and the big arched doorway! Porch was beautiful❤! Thanks again 🎉
awww kapppy how wonderful this house would of been i love historic mansions that were abandoned along time ago they are amazing but its sad to seee them rott and go take care my gratefuly deadicated buddy
The second one reminds me of an old school.
I love the doors, I also love the layout.
So sad to see these houses falling apart glad you get to document them before they are lost for ever you could write a book 📖 about all these lovely homes im sure people would be very interested in what used to be before the new towns get built well done kappy other great video.
LOVED the first one! The archway and porch trim are both still so solid looking. The whole house still looks solid besides that back room. I didn’t see any outlets but saw 1 or 2 light switches. No kitchen or bath either wow! Loved the layout too. Such a shame. Thank you! -John
SO BEAUTIFUL , Heartbreaking to see in sad condition. Great Video Thank You. BE Safe.😊
This looks like it’s in fairly good condition…not as intimidating as most to rescue. I hope. It would be a beautiful home. Thank you Kappy!
I love how you take time to show and talk about the details of each room. You just don't di a quick run though. All my best, Jim😀
