I think the video is mistaking beautiful and impressive. Some small palaces in the Loire area, in France, are ways more beautiful than those big ones. Although Versailles, which inspired most of the others in this video (Sweedish, German, Austrian, Russian) has a true and unique elegance.
The Royal Palace of Madrid has one of two largest collection Stradivarius of the world and the unique all instruments decorated by Stradivarius in the collection the unique Stradivarius cello original decorated in the world ;this collection is gift of Antoni Stradivari for the King of Spain Charles ll

A great selection, with some odd additions. Obviously a selection of only 10 always leaves plenty to be suggested. I'd say main criteria should be, the palace should be older than, say, 150 or 250 years old, and it should have historical importance, as well as beauty. In that sense, there are quite a few very good ones here, to want to visit.
I have seen them all ( only Potala not ). Peterhof Palace and the Royal Palace in Madrid really wonderful. Also Schönbrunn and Versailles ( especially the gardens ). Drottningholm and the Royal Palace of Caserta....are a little boring...and the huge palace complex in Bangkok ist beautiful outside much more than inside. The vorbidden city in Beijing ( palace complex ) is also beautiful/ interesting outside much more than inside....and it is huge and alwaya very crowded ( tourists).
obviously you never been to the royal palace of caserta you calling it boring ive been there many times with friends and family and been to the french versailles and i would say the french is beautiful but the caserta is overwhelming in scale and inmense of grandiour of arts and beautiful scenery.
Nice palaces, but some pictures of potala palace are wrong. They show little potala palace in chengde, a temple near the summerpalace of the Qing dynasty.
You can actually live in the Schönbrunn Palace nowadays: much of the space which is not on display for tourists has been transformed into rental appartments.
He is a David Attenborough-soundalike robot - the way it tripped over the Latin numerals made me laugh. I suspect it was AI scripted, given its limited and repetitive vocabulary
Interesting though, all the BIG THREE are of the Bourbon dynasty (Spain, Italy and France). Their palaces are like the flexing among their own fresh and blood.
I appreciate the inclusion of the Thai palace, but I do believe other non European palaces around the world deserve mention as well, such as the Forbidden City, which has a fundamental layout dating back before even the first Emperor of China.
These palaces are stunning and glorious. We should not forget they were built on the backs of peasants whose taxes impoverished them. Revolutions were fought to dethrone the royalty, yet we continue to visit the palaces in awe and admiration. 😞
Your right, but don't ignore that nowadays presidents building palaces as well, take for instance president Erdogan of Turkey and Putin in Russia. So what's new ?
You clearly have never visited the Palace of Versailles. The gardens are beautiful and so is the Hall of Mirrors but the palace itself is boring as hell. Not at all worth the visit, or the hype that surrounds it.
Did you perhaps visit when it was crowded? If so, those crowds may be the primary detractors from the real beauty of the palace. Best to see it before anyone else arrives, as early as possible in the morning
Versailles is one of the most famous palaces in the world, as well as one of the most spectacular of its time. Many palaces were built inspired by it. So I think it deserves a place in any compilation.
