Edit: I've since swapped over to the OP1 8k, everything I said about the shape still applies but it addresses basically all my issues with the OP1 as well as feeling insanely smooth to use in game. The cable is incredible and I honestly don't notice it at all and they have leaned further into the mouse's modability. also, finally added subtitles, sry for taking so long to
This is a video I wanted to make but never got the chance... Thank you Viscose! people need to understand that shape is king. Far more important than the specs or weight. Much love ❤️
Unironically this, funny enough I’ve been playing with a g600 for years now just because of not wanting to switch to another mouse when playing shooters instead of mmos. It’s just so comfy for me & recently has helped me greatly with finding a new gaming mouse because I haven’t been playing mmos as much. Shape is my main thing to recommend to friends wondering how to get better ❤
I think shape and sensor is the most important they complete each other, I've tried a pulsar x2 and r1 SE+ both have same shape but my aim is way better on pulsar because of a better sensor
Many people are still confused why I choose to run the GPX, which has fallen considerably behind in terms of specs compared to newer mice coming out. But somehow because of its shape perfectly fitting me, I just can't use any other mice to get even close to my performance on the GPX.
Wow, what an insanely good video. Very interesting and also distinct editing model, very well scripted, and I loved the shape comparisons. You basically explained what I always thought about shape downsizes. While I absolutely agree with everything about the OP1we, and that it's not really an expensive mouse, I think the chinese mouse market has definitely made me more picky about the prices overall. But what really kept me away from it in the first place was the heavy clicks, and also the fact that both the mouse and the taobao hotswap switch PCB would be hard to obtain where I live. Keep posting more stuff!
thank u!! and thats very fair, and its a shame abt the availability :( i know i felt a bit odd calling this mouse "lower cost" considering whats come out recently as well haha, but I think its worth it for the quality u get here
Lovely review! Enjoying the editing, camera shots and narration, they've improved so much! And of course, the review itself is amazing. I don't know any mouse reviewer who is as articulate and detailed as you (the dynamic clicking difficulty and modding mentions were really cool), and how you incorporate all of that into the "bigger picture" or an important concept in your past few videos is really well done. Satisfying seeing your progression of mouse reviews beyond just quality but also understanding.
great video viscose. i bought the op1we because of what you said about the mouse on twitter in regards to how nice the thin grip width is and cant agree with you more, the thin grip width and overrall shape is amazing for tracking and microadjustments
Definitely a well thought-out/put together video. The more mice I have gotten over the years (30+) the more I have actually confirmed the generally held idea you mentioned that shape really is king. Even subtle differences in the shape of a mouse can have larger impacts on feel and in-game performance for me than mild tech boosts like motion latency discrepancies of 1-4ms or 8k polling rate. Weight is important to me as well, but even then an excellent 52g shape (X2H mini) feels better in real world use than a so-so 38g shape (UltralightX). Considering giving this a try even with that slightly higher weight
if the weight is as important to u as it is to me, its pretty easy to get down into the low 50s! i took out the battery holder and left it resting on the pcb and shaved a bit off the side walls and its almost there already! there is a lot more u can do as well but i havent tried yet, wanted to keep the mouse looking stock for the vid haha
@@ViscoseOCE I wish I felt more comfortable actually taking mice apart to do the more significant mods like that haha. I remember it took me an embarrassingly long time to set up the first paracord I added to my Zowie S2. Something about the weight reduction mods always makes me nervous even though it’s important to me lol
DAMN YOU YOURE SO GOOD AT MAKING VIDEOS IM BUYING A MOUSE FROM ENDGAME RIGHT THIS SECOND, on a real note though this was awesome and provided great reasoning while not being a shill for the product, definitely subbing
I first saw your video on mouse accel which interested me because i was a accel user from 2016-2019. I have gone from aggressive claw on heavy ass mice to fingertip grip on lightweight mice with most of my hours from 2018-now being on the model 0-, mz1, and starlight 12. Your videos are very insightful and thorough and i will definitely be referring to them when talking to friends about aiming related stuff.
For me it’s shape>coating>clicks>weight>specs. I used to be big on weight and specs but I realized it honestly doesn’t matter much for my performance. I honestly prefer a mouse thats 65-75g but if the mice is any lower I don’t mind at all and I don’t feel like I can feel much of a difference. But I did realize if I’m playing with a mouse with a bad coating I do a whole lot worse because I’m constantly focusing on how slippery the mouse feels in my hand.
im curious if you've tried grip tape, a part of how i valued each component was how hard the downsides to offset through modding and coating is something thats not too hard to fix in that regard.
@@ViscoseOCE That’s valid and I think that’s the best way to categorize it because I’d say 90% of the people here are more mouse enthusiasts. But to answer your question I have used grip tape before and I actually enjoyed them when they were new but after a couple months I’d have to replace them and I got tired of buying grips constantly. I love Vaxee’s and endgame gears coating and luckily they have my favorite shapes in the OP1WE and Np01s.
For being only 9 minutes long this video has a lot of info packed in it. It's not something I think would work for me, but now I know. I'm looking forward to that M3K specifically for the clicks and weight :o
As a mouse enthusiast myself i consider shape the #1 most important factor. I have more than 10 endgame mice and yet… i keep using the Zowie ZA13-C and nothing can beat it’s shape. I keep hitting everything with the ZA13-C
agreed 100% abt the za13c, i still love that shape sm but stopped using it because of the weight. it was my fav shape before trying the op1we, even though i didnt use it too much because of the weight
Since I have 22x11 hands but a similar grip style to you, the M800 Ultra has actually been my favorite to use so far! A slightly smaller viper v2 that feels more locked in and has a slight hump! All at 49g and 4K! I just placed an order for the Waizowl Cloud as well so I'll see how that one feels! Hopefully my new endgame
@@SwaneeRL I have one of the first hundred units ever produced and surprisingly for a first batch model it's perfect! 0 QC issues! I just bought another in the new blue colorway and am hoping it's solid as well!
As a fingertip gamer, shape being the most important factor is more obvious then ever. With a market that mainly caters towards claw and palm grip, the few fingertip grip mice that i can get my hands on make a HUGE difference in my aim and control. The larger the mouse, the harder it is to be precise and move around the mouse with just fingertips. Its just a shame fingertip mice usually are limited runs or have smaller stock than other mainstream mice. 😢 Awesome video and glad you found your ideal mouse shape!
Great review, glad I could help with some pics. Anyways for all of you guys, you can easily save 5-10 grams swapping the battery (depending on how small you're willing to go), this will ofc. sacrifice some battery life. Also I can really recommend getting the mechanical hotswap PCB.
Thank you for this detailed explanation. Truly Shape is the king and no matter how high end a mouse is if you can't grip it right, you can't use the full potential of it. ☺️
FINALLY! someone with small hands AND an aggressive claw grip style! This took me WAYY too long to find, so thank you very much! My handsize is 17x10, and I play aggressive claw, needed to retire my 4 year old viper mini. finally I have a worthwhile option to replace that unit of a mouse (fuck you razer).
This was a great review. Maines the starlight 12 medium for 2 years straight. Bought the beast x. Loved it but I’m really trying to find a mouse shape that fits perfectly
Hi Viscose, i dont buy many mouses but i'm on the look out for a new one. I have some what medium large 20x10 i use claw and fingertip grips. I was wondering on you're input for a new mouse... Either the ATK F1 Extreme 35g or the op1k 8k? Both have different shapes. Would love if i could get your input! And btw you're a beast on the mouse nice skills
A lot of mice flare out at the front these days, like everyone copy the fk series. And that was my main problem after trying over 15 mice and everyone caused some discomfort/pain. OP1we is my number #1 till today, the best thing being no front flares. Finally someone noticed that when We bring our fingers together the pinky sits further out than ring finger. I was worried about back hump but it is very small and doesn't bother me that much. Also I kind of disagree with RJN theory as thinner grip width is not only better for aim but also more comfortable. Thats the reason while I still use OP1we over Maya which is simply too wide.
great video! i have no interest in the OP1we, but the video was still very interesting for me ^^ coincidentally, i had the same problem with the HTX being almost perfect, but unfortunately too wide
I've tried the op1we in a shop, and I did enjoy the shape and noticed a lot of time went into it. If it wasn't for the grip width being too thin for me (causes cramps for me since I can't relax and palm it after extended periods of claw), I'd probably have carried it out the store that day. Instead, I decided on either the Lethal LA-1 (Haus described as a wider Op1we) or a vxe R1 Ultra (based on eloshapes outlines, which aren't the best.). Great video though! I've definitely felt the same way as well.
I've got a VXE R1 pro max here to test the shape firsthand and it's sooo close to being what I want, the side taper from top-down is just a bit too aggressive for me, if anyone has both a la-1 and an r1 and can help me compare the two, that'd be awesome, thanks.
Update: the r1 is placing too much stress on my wrist tendons since the hump angles my wrist too much, that cancels out LA-1 then, looking for mice with lower hump heights or further forward humps, more length wouldn't hurt too.
Ive been considering trying this mouse, and its precisely the heavy clicks what has stopped me from trying it. Might still try it, then return it if I dont like it, or try the hot swapable clicks. I do love mice with lighter clicks
Tried it and didnt like the shape. My claw grip is unusual. Most people extend their ring finger and curl their thumb. I do the exact opposite, my thumb is farther forward than my ring finger. The only two shapes ive found good for me so far have been the MM712 and the Haste 2 mini. You might like the Haste 2 mini. You said the the Starlight was a bit too short. The Haste 2 mini is a tad longer. It does feel a little dense at 59g for its size, though. My grip definitely favors shorter mice. I have a Beast X mini on the way, hoping I wont find it too narrow. If I do, I will try the Darmoshark M2 whenever it comes out. The width of the M2 will be closer to the width of the Finalmouse small.
Loved the thorough review! I feel like one thing to note with shape is also that it doesn't necessarily need to be comfortable, but rather needs to enhance your aiming. At least from my personal experience and with others, when using say the g203 most didn't find it comfortable yet it was much better for aiming than a mouse shape that was comfortable. Ideally, you would want obviously a mouse that has a good balance in comfortability and enhancing your aim, but it seems quite rare to find something like that.
i think i partially agree with this, but for me comfort and how well i aim tend to overlap since with a mouse that fits my hand well i can play for much longer without any fatigue or stuff like that, which lets me practice more and maintain good performance for longer. i also have to pay pretty close attention to my hand health long term so comfort is like double important for me haha
I think we've hit the point where we don't have to worry about specs that much. There are pros out there that still run their mouse at 500hz still crushing the competition despite 4Khz existing. Shape is far more important simply for the ergonomics. I personally use the Model D Pro from Glorious . It might be huge compared to other mice, but it fits my hand like a glove and I have yet to find another brand that offers the same shape at that size aside from Razer with the V3 pro.
i agree for the most part, they are still important to an extent and seeing tech improve is nice, but im more interested in seeing how far companies can push older tech to reduce costs like with the op1
Hi Viscose! Since you are an expert in the area of gaming mice, maybe you could try "regularly" releasing videos about new mice that fit your shape? I have almost the same taste in mice as you, but I use more fingertip grip than claw and I have the same hand size. It would be cool if you tried Ninjutso Sora v2, if you have such an opportunity, it would be cool to see comparisons of other equally interesting mice too)
i think with the cable version which has the 3395 sensor and 8K polling now, I heard that the clicks are a tad bit lighter (and so is the weight) . I am gonna give it a try. I currently use DAV3 wired, NP01-s and lamzu atlantis mini in rotation and I tend to use smaller mice. Nice video btw.
I think that the sensor placement also helps with stability. I tried using the HTX for a month and felt that my aim still wasn't as good as when I was using my Starlight-12. Then I noticed that the sensor on the HTX was placed higher compared to other mice. When I went back to my S12, everything felt way snappier and responsive. I know some people say that a higher sensor placement is better, but I think it's whatever you're use too. I mained the MM711 for a while and it had a low sensor placement.
i thought about mentioning that in this vid as well since I do agree that its pretty important to aiming, but for that conversation id probably have to lay an extra mins worth of context and groundwork to properly explore that topic and it wouldn't have flowed too well with the vid overall. might put it on the ideas list tho haha, its something id love to consolidate my ideas about and make a video on just as its own topic
imo shape is king.. only if all mice you're comparing are within your optimal weight range. My ergo is a solid 12 grams heavier than the small uncomfortable ambi I picked up. My aim has improved considerably on the ambi, particularly on tracking direction changes
thats def fair, ive ended up weight modding my op1 to counteract that weight difference haha. how heavy are both those mice that your talking about? im curious what range youve found to be optimal
i jumped a lot in mice till i find out that smaller was better for me, and i tried a couple different mices and the one thats better for me rn is the atlantis mini pro, it has all the top tier tech with a really good shape and construction, of course i was after a good shape first, so i tried a lot of cheap china mice just to test shapes and find out the atlantis mini, and it worked for me, I recommend people to just test shapes first to find what they really want or need and then tri to find a good mice with that shape and aimtraining games are not everything, i was way better on aimlabs with my older xd3 (S2 shape) than with the lamzu but in competitive games im way better with the lamzu, what you said about the mobility trade with stability is so fking true, so for the people out there, just geta good shape then find or mod a good mice with that shape im no god at gaming but i can keep radiant on val for a hole act so im not bad i guess
Bruh ur crazy wdym. I've got into micea this year and went through lamzu mini, gpx, x2h, lamzu Maya & thorn. And I still feel like im missing something. I'm not as good as you, just ascendant 2.
thank u!! i would have talked more abt them but honestly i havent done nearly everything yet LOL i wanted to keep the mouse looking mostly stock for the vid. i plan on getting mech switches, a custom base and shaving down the side walls way more
@@ViscoseOCE understandable what side walls are you referring to? Any idea what switches you will go with? Also I was curious what pad you were on for majority of the clips
@@VLLN. just some of the supports on the sides u can get away without haha, and im probs gonna go with blue shell pink dots c: and my main pad atm is the shidenkai, i love it sm
I had the exact same thing, There was something feeling wrong about the Zowie ZA12 and the Endgame Gear XM1r. Until Pulsar released the X2H. It fits like a glove!
For me the OP1we would be perfect if it was 50grams or less and the back hump was 35/36mm in height or placed more to the middle. But i also have very small hand size of 16x10 ish. So for me the G-Wolves HTX feels better. I will probable be trying out a WLmouse Beast, they just announced a mini version at 116x58x35mm at 34grams.
Sincere question...How is the OP1we compared to Atlantis mini? They look almost identical in terms of the shape!(and similar in price too...) Is there a reason that you picked the OP1we over the Atlantis mini?
X2H mini fits my hand better but I feel like I am only using my figertips to aim while I use claw grip on my OP1we. Maybe that is why OP1we performs better for me.
Great review.. have you tried the mz1? I have fairly large hands and I started my mouse journey with model o (too long and flat at the time for me and I didn’t enjoy palm contact) gpx (didn’t enjoy the potato shape and got used to the lower button height from the model o) orochi v2 ( loved the length, button height but the curve on the right side didn’t leave a good space to anchor my bent pink, also didn’t enjoy the clicks) mz1 (felt most intuitive shape wise to date except can’t get past the cable and the right click will pinch my ring finger at times and it became annoying. So I modified it by removing all the rgb, removing the light defuser and cutting back the right click. This made less space on the right side so I had t add a ledge with stiff grip tape which was fine but led to a less then premium feel.. I haven’t invested into a wireless mz1 because I will still have the same issue with the overhanging clicks..) then I went to a g303 SE (which taught me to be ok with palm contact and I spent the most second most time on it) vaxee Xe (too wide feeling don’t like the fact that if you put too much pressure into the main clicks they feel grindy slowly got used to the width over time but can’t get past the habit of over putting too much pressure into the m1 m2 and coming from the g303 mz1 which both have exceptional clicks I can’t get it out of my head) za13c (almost perfect shape and performance, still can’t get past the cable and if the main clicks were more flat or even had a comfort groove it would be ideal) np01s (I love the width and I can see the potential in the shape.. just too small for my specific grip exchanged it for outset ax bc I got a creaky copy I could see where the full size np01 might have been a better fit but I wanted to try the ax since it had soo much praise and the button height compared to the rear hump of the NP line is too flat for my taste) current mouse and grip experiment vaxee outset ax I am going to put in time to try a straight pinky.. it feels good aim/stability wise. The ax isn’t overly wide for me like the Xe and it’s short enough that it doesn’t fill up the base of my palm which I like.. I think long term it will be good.. all of this leads to my ideal mouse would be a sub 60gram wireless za13c. And the only other mice in currently interested in now are small narrow mice for fingertip/relaxed claw grip.. I like the support to come from the underside of my knuckles more so towards the pinky knuckle so I have stability when I press the side buttons and the flexibility to do most of the movements and aiming with my fingers… I think the op1we and the pulsar x2h mini could be 2 good options. This is why I ask you if you tried the mz1. Great review everything you said makes sense.. Cheers
i have tried the mz1! and honestly did not like it at all LOL, the side profile doesnt vibe with where i position my fingers. that being said though, i did aim very well from it. one thing that might be worth noting is that my fav shape before this for both comfort and aiming was the za13-c, i only didn't main it because of the weight and the op1we was the first mouse to surpass it shape wise for me
I once tried lamzu Atlantis mini. I checked the pictures and I think op1we is very similar to Atlantis mini. Have you ever used Atlantis mini? What are the differences between them?🤔
Fantastic video! Great breakdown throughout. I really wanted to try this mouse out but the reported heavy clicks put me off. I heard even with the switch pack, they’re still heaby’ish. Love the BFV clips as well 🔥
ive been maining the lamzu mini 4k and have recently used the htx and the starlight too but went straight back to my atlantis mini after a few weeks! this video is making me want to try the op1we though 🤔
Maaan. I went form Skoll Mini to the Deathadder v3(try something larger again), then to the lamzu thorn. After some months i tried the Skoll Mini again, and after 2 days i was right back to the natural flicks and kills i was used to. Idk if its the shape, the weight (only 5g difference), the feet or what. But it just works insanely well. I wanna try the op18k tho ^^. But this video is really well done and makes sense to me ^^
I used to love the Steelseries Rival 3 for the side dents and the more to the back "belly", then swapped between many mouses, bought the XM1r like 3 months ago and it felt like the steelseries but lighter, like home :D
Hello, a long time ago I have used a Cooler Master MM710 and that was the right shape for me. Now I run a GPX on a skypad 3.0 and the shape of the mouse on this surface does not promote any stability on its own, do you think it would be beneficial for me to try the OP1we ?
totally agree about shape with being weight is also important but not as much as shape. there is one unheard issue in general i am facing is postioning of sitting and handeling keyboard and mouse. sometime i keep keyboard close to me then while playing it goes away and i completely stretch my hand , and constantly changing chair height continue to find right one, it is giving me some weird annoying feeling and hand fatigue that i close games because this is impacting my gameplay like movement, aim etc, i really would appreciate if someday you can share about the overall posture and positioning of your hand for MnK , chair monitor distance, what you feel is comfortable. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge and experience.
for me, i rest my arm/elbow on my armrest and use it as a pivot point to aim, which is very unconventional but might help with your posture issue. it feels a lot more comfortable for me than resting my arm on the mousepad
I do wonder why EGG chose the current switch in the first place, couldn't they have gone with the lighter Kailh GO 60-65g instead? (Or release a diff version of the op1we with the lighter switches, name it like op1we L/LE or something)
Hey Viscose! Great Video as always but I have got a question. At the moment I have really tiny hands something like 16x9. So any mouse feels big to me. I bought the htx and I am not 100% happy with the shape. It feels a bit wrong no matter how I grip it (except palm but that just feels wrong to use a mouse like that. Should I try the keychain m4 or do you have any recommendations?
hey! obvs i cant speak from experience here but my girlfriend has very similar sized hands to yours and out of all my mice, shes liked the wlmouse beast x the most so far. its a viper mini-like shape with flatter sides, do you have any experience with something like that? if not it might be worth a try
@@ViscoseOCEthis reply is so late but I actually have a beast x at 19x10.5 hands, I play claw like you and find that the back hump just doesn't make enough contact with my low palm for my liking, despite the op1we and the beast x being similar in size it seems like it could help that issue, would love it if you have any take on this, great video
I’m waiting for the “W” version hope it’s gonna have a lighter switches. This shape could my ENDGAME. I tried a lot of mice…. Like A L O T and this one will be the last one I’ll try, I even wanted to quite competitive games cuz i’m not playing as good as before.
Hey! Thank you for your indepth videos, which are still very entertaining. I've got a question regarding the Logitech G305. I've owned the black and now the white one and was always quite happy with it, although I must admit the bump is not quite for me and it's just a bit too wide at the base. I've got just a tad smaller hands than you, and due to being a beginner never did anything besides the palm grip. How would you compare the G305 and the OP1we, also taking in consideration the grip technique? Of course the G305 outweighs the OP1we by 40g, but just shapewise?
i think i had similar issue to you about weight, but it wasnt 40 -> 60 but 70 -> 90, i swapped xm1r to my old rival310 due to worn off skates and i was scared it might hurt my mousepad, and weight feels bad. I mean i have to tense so much causing me to be shaky asf, and grip itself dont feel good yet, ofc cause of how heavy it is, i'm experimencing some pain in my hand after long gaming session. Anyways good video, i think as well shape matters the most, i cannot find comfortable grip on 310 cause of how large this mouse is.
Great video, just missed the part where the op1 has a way better sensor position, that goes exactly in line with thumb in the middle of both of the side buttons, making it so you dont have to overgrip the mouse forward to press, the most forward side button. Thus making it perfect to control. On a side note, from what I've seen from other people's research, like rocketjumpninja on his latest video, is if the mouse feels too light, you might wanna try a new combination of mousepad and/or feet, like in your case when you press the clicks it seems like you have 2 options, 1 modify the mousepad/feet or 2 modify the clicks so they are lighter. If you go mousepad/feet you want a control mousepad with like some Tiger Arcs One and maybe an Artisan mousepad like the Hayate Otsu with focus on stopping power. Hope it helps to shed some light in what is the most recent discoveries about aim
i was considering talking about sensor position actually! I think its very important as well but its a conversation that requires a lot of groundwork to properly discuss, there is a lot that goes into how sensor position interacts with aim and it would have probably taken over a minute to lay all that context out since people arent as familiar with the feature as they are with things like weight or tech. its def something i want to discuss though, im thinking about making a full video about it but yea theres a lot to discuss and i do want to consolidate my own ideas on the topic a bit first. as for the mousepad thing, tbh the zero soft is about as slow as I can go these days haha, which is what I was using in that valorant clip. id have to go so slow to make up for the heavy clicks that i'd be making too many sacrifices to make it worth it, easier for me to just swap em out c:
@@ViscoseOCE yeah Im considering corepadz also for bigger control, the soft hayate otsu seems to have good stopping from what they say on the website. So im going to test the otsu and if thats not good enough to stop my mouse and go again then I'll go to the lighter skates I thinks its best to start with more control than speed and move it up in speed later
@@willsteps7162it def has good stopping power relative to its speed because of its static friction but its not quite as much as the zero, it is a great pad tho!
I still struggle with shape. I thought the ULX would be my endgame but ended up maining the RVMSE. I’m probably gonna give the Small ULX a try when it releases though.
Hey viscose glad to see another upload! Just wondering ik u prob already have tried the viper mini (se or not) but im wondering what drew you away from that mouse? Is it just like you said in the vid that op1we for you is the perfect width in the upper area. Asking since theyre so similar thnx
hey!! i rly enjoy the viper mini shape actually but i have one major issue with it, the sides having that crazy inward slant hurts the shape a lot in my eyes, it made it a lot less comfy for my ring and pinky finger and led me to look elsewhere to find something nicer
@@ViscoseOCE now that you mention that i totally relate ill be playing and my pinky will hang off sometimes i feel like or barely gripping so youll grip your mouse tighter. In relation to that what do you think of ergo mice and how theyre less fatiguing to play with?
wait your hands are 18.5 by 9? I could have sworn they were smaller from the vid, I have 19 by 10 and feel my op1 looks super small in comparison to yours, must be because of the finger tip grip u use from time to time ?
ZA13 is my favorite shape and the op1 looks like it is the closest thing to that shape, but smaller. Can't wait til mine arrives. Wasn't a fan of the htx EDIT: Just got it and it feels nothing like a ZA13 unfortunately. Feels similar to a pulsar x2 mini, but skinnier and you can actually feel the hump. I'd say it's better than the x2 mini, but I was not a fan of the x2 mini shape at all.
great review! Is that ww2 game you where playing Battlefield? Almost looks better than the newest COD lol. Also do you not think that the added stability and weight can be negated by a higher sense?
it is, its battlefield v! if your in a region more populated than mine i recommend it highly. and yea it can be negated by higher sens but that comes with its own downsides, I think its better to look at mousepads since the mousepad surface and weight directly change the same thing (friction)
I saw on several of your videos you using mm710. That mouse has incredible cable, the best one I've ever used. Since you switched to op1 8k, is its cable like one on mm710?
I'm curious if you've tried the new Zowie U2. I have slightly bigger hands than you, and finding a small comfortable mouse has been a challenge. The "recommended" small finger tip mice always cause my hand to cramp up due to the way I hold it. So far, the U2 has been the best mouse I've tried, but I might try the OP1 8K.
@@ViscoseOCE Over the years I've spent way too much on mice and I've come to the conclusion that I tense up too much, especially when tracking, so I need a mouse that works for finger tip grip, but can also be clawed for those moments. Unfortunately, I have small hands like you (18 by 9) and most "large" mice are too big for me, which is why I've always used very small mice. I've found that the most comfortable shape is something like the classic zowie FK2, and more recently, the Vaxee NPO1s, and now the Zowie U2. I believe what I like about those is the top is more flat than most large mice, the sides are narrower, and they have a fatter "ass", pardon my language. I'll be trying out the OP1 8K on Monday.
@@ViscoseOCE Reporting back: After using it for 5 days, I can say that it's a better mouse for click timing scenarios, and on par or maybe slightly worse for tracking compared to the U2. Unfortunately, it started to hurt my hand so I had to switch back to the U2. I personally need a width of around 65mm for mouse to not give me pain. I've ordered the thick 1.8mm lizard grip tape so I'll try to increase the OP1's width that way and see if that helps. I do like the overall build quality and the cable of the OP1 so if it's working for you, it's probably not worth trying the U2.
I just tried this Zowie U2 mouse. I can say that the coating feeling is great, it gives a very good grip feeling. I have the Razer deathadder V3 Pro, but I don't like its coating quality, I have to constantly correct my grip grip again and again, it feels rough and the Razer seemed big and long. The length of U2 is quite good, my hand is 18.5x10.5cm. Zowie U2 fills my palm very well, my thumb position is perfect, but since the right side was too thin, I couldn't place my pinkie finger as I wanted. I hold relax claw or pincer claw. So which mouse do you think I would be more comfortable with? Would you recommend Vaxee, endgame or pulsar models?
Hi, I need advice on finding a new mouse. I've been using ambidextrous mice like the G Pro, MZ1, and Fnatic Bolt, but lately, I'm not comfortable with them anymore. Despite recommendations for smaller mice, they don't improve my aim. I prefer a palm grip, and these force a fingertip/claw grip. My hand size is 19.5cm x 10cm, so I think a larger, more ergonomic mouse is better. (Currently liking the Logitech MX Master 3 for productivity.) Considering the Pulsar XLite V3 or the latest Razer DeathAdder for gaming. Any thoughts?
Hello and thanks for the review. Quick question, my hand size 185x105mm and using hybrid palm or relaxed/pincer claw grip. What would you do recommend. Gpx2 or zowie u2? Maybe also I can consider sora v2 or beastx or egg op1we mouse? I'm using razer deathadder V3 Pro atm but it feels longer and wider so its bulk for me and making in pain to my elbow. I like the hump backword against middle. Therefore I can't locked in from the palm. Thanks for the advice in advance.
The razer Viper ultimate was my end game. It broke due to rage, and i haven't bought a new one. I can't convince myself to spend the money, but MY GOD, I know I'd absolutely aim bett but i just keep using mice i already have just to save money. I know the search all too well. Sometimes, shape is the true key to aim.
Extremely good review. I have a sora and a xe wireless atm and I was wondering if thise mouse would be a middle ground. How would you compare the shape to those?
the hump on the op1we is very similar to the sora's, the main difference between the two is that the op1we is a lot thinner overall and is a bit shorter at the front relative to the hump, making where your pinky should sit in fingertip or aggressive claw more comfy imo.
Edit: I've since swapped over to the OP1 8k, everything I said about the shape still applies but it addresses basically all my issues with the OP1 as well as feeling insanely smooth to use in game. The cable is incredible and I honestly don't notice it at all and they have leaned further into the mouse's modability.
also, finally added subtitles, sry for taking so long to
well if you are having trouble with the clicks. they just release a 8k wired version with new super light clicks.
Hello, I bought op1we but I can’t buy a set of switches. Can you tell me what other optical switches can be installed there?
What settings do you use with OP1 8k in the software?
what issues? how much difference does the 8k make im thinking of getting the we. thx
Do you like using 8k or 4k w/motion sync?
This is a video I wanted to make but never got the chance... Thank you Viscose! people need to understand that shape is king. Far more important than the specs or weight. Much love ❤️
Hope you're doing well out there, brother!
@@phucnguyen0110 I am thanks brother ❤️☺️
Unironically this, funny enough I’ve been playing with a g600 for years now just because of not wanting to switch to another mouse when playing shooters instead of mmos. It’s just so comfy for me & recently has helped me greatly with finding a new gaming mouse because I haven’t been playing mmos as much. Shape is my main thing to recommend to friends wondering how to get better ❤
I think shape and sensor is the most important they complete each other, I've tried a pulsar x2 and r1 SE+ both have same shape but my aim is way better on pulsar because of a better sensor
You earned a sub with that aim, also i fondly resonate with your opinions! Excellent vid.
Many people are still confused why I choose to run the GPX, which has fallen considerably behind in terms of specs compared to newer mice coming out. But somehow because of its shape perfectly fitting me, I just can't use any other mice to get even close to my performance on the GPX.
Hey I noticed you use the same mouse grip type like her. How is it called, Claw grip?
the superlight will never be old, since a flawless sensor and safe shape is N-E-V-E-R redundant.
Amazing video, very well explained , and very well edited, the vibe of the whole video was one of a kind , very underratted!!!
DAMN YOU YOURE SO GOOD AT MAKING VIDEOS IM BUYING A MOUSE FROM ENDGAME RIGHT THIS SECOND, on a real note though this was awesome and provided great reasoning while not being a shill for the product, definitely subbing
amazing video! couldn't agree more with everything you said, keep up the amazing content!!
I first saw your video on mouse accel which interested me because i was a accel user from 2016-2019. I have gone from aggressive claw on heavy ass mice to fingertip grip on lightweight mice with most of my hours from 2018-now being on the model 0-, mz1, and starlight 12. Your videos are very insightful and thorough and i will definitely be referring to them when talking to friends about aiming related stuff.
im gonna pick this up because of this video, keep it up viscose
Amazing video. I would mention that a Chinese modder on Aliexpress and Taobao offers hotswap boards that take mechanical switches, which is great.
Been waiting for this!
As a mouse enthusiast myself i consider shape the #1 most important factor. I have more than 10 endgame mice and yet… i keep using the Zowie ZA13-C and nothing can beat it’s shape. I keep hitting everything with the ZA13-C
have you tried the op1we? I am also a za13 mainer but this video kinda got me wanting to try it now
agreed 100% abt the za13c, i still love that shape sm but stopped using it because of the weight. it was my fav shape before trying the op1we, even though i didnt use it too much because of the weight
@@eakmadashma I sadly never tried the op1we! Mighht buy it since Viscose was a ZA13c shape fan too but prefers the op1we now
I just bough the Op1we with the Kail switch pack! Will let you know how it goes and if I like the shape and lighter clicks@@eakmadashma
Hopefully my new endgame
its actually wider than the viper v2. more like g pro wireless, but its shorter.
how was the QC on yours? Got 2 copies and they were both fairly lacking in quality, performance is excellent just not exactly a pleasure to use imo
@@SwaneeRL I have one of the first hundred units ever produced and surprisingly for a first batch model it's perfect! 0 QC issues! I just bought another in the new blue colorway and am hoping it's solid as well!
wtf dude im 6ft4 and my hands are only 20.5x10.5
@@wodkdnwiwondsn 😂😂😂 I'm 5'10 with 22x11 it's tough to find a good mouse fit for me but rn I'm using the Viper V3 Pro and it fits like a glove
Awesome video and glad you found your ideal mouse shape!
thanks for your insight. btw, what mouse do you currently use nowadays for gaming?
Great review, glad I could help with some pics.
Anyways for all of you guys, you can easily save 5-10 grams swapping the battery (depending on how small you're willing to go), this will ofc. sacrifice some battery life. Also I can really recommend getting the mechanical hotswap PCB.
Let's gooo Visvose is back with another vid ❤️🙌
Thank you for this detailed explanation. Truly Shape is the king and no matter how high end a mouse is if you can't grip it right, you can't use the full potential of it. ☺️
Great and interesting video as always :)
Such and informative video! Thanks Viscose!
I was on fence, but now you have convinced me to try op1, just waiting for their wired release and for sure will change the switches to lighter ones.
Wired will be mechanical switches hot swap :)
😂thought i was the last person in the world who preferred wired mice👍
Nope it will be mechanical hotswap - way better imo@patholeaway1182
Great review Viscose! For me OP1 is slightly too thin, but Pulsar x2h mini fits me like a glove, and i like better palm support :D
I am here from RUclips recc not twitter YAYYYYYY
Im glad your uploading again
I have the same hand size as you(18 x 9), so I'm glad I found your review an consider this mouse for future purchase.
I also believe the sensor position should be among the top 3 factors when choosing a mouse. Excellent video 🤗
Thank your for enlengthening the masses :D

FINALLY! someone with small hands AND an aggressive claw grip style! This took me WAYY too long to find, so thank you very much! My handsize is 17x10, and I play aggressive claw, needed to retire my 4 year old viper mini. finally I have a worthwhile option to replace that unit of a mouse (fuck you razer).
great video as always!
I got past a little over 2 minutes and bought it lol..... damnit good job. I'll finish the video now.
nice review i wish they have 4k version , did you try lamzu or sora 4k ? I heard good things about those gaming mice's
Thats the reason while I still use OP1we over Maya which is simply too wide.
great video! i have no interest in the OP1we, but the video was still very interesting for me ^^
coincidentally, i had the same problem with the HTX being almost perfect, but unfortunately too wide
I think thjis is your best video yet Viscose! I hope this video blows up !
Woke the whole hood up to tell em viscose dropped
Your voice is so ASMR lol I’m going to buy this mouse now 😎
I think we've hit the point where we don't have to worry about specs that much.
Immediately bought it no self control thnx Viscose!!! Who needs to pay rent anyway.
I didn't even listen to your points about the mouse I just kept skipping to the aiming 😭 😭 😭 W video
My aim has improved considerably on the ambi, particularly on tracking direction changes
thats def fair, ive ended up weight modding my op1 to counteract that weight difference haha. how heavy are both those mice that your talking about? im curious what range youve found to be optimal
i jumped a lot in mice till i find out that smaller was better for me, and i tried a couple different mices and the one thats better for me rn is the atlantis mini pro, it has all the top tier tech with a really good shape and construction, of course i was after a good shape first, so i tried a lot of cheap china mice just to test shapes and find out the atlantis mini, and it worked for me,
I recommend people to just test shapes first to find what they really want or need and then tri to find a good mice with that shape
and aimtraining games are not everything, i was way better on aimlabs with my older xd3 (S2 shape) than with the lamzu but in competitive games im way better with the lamzu,
what you said about the mobility trade with stability is so fking true, so for the people out there, just geta good shape then find or mod a good mice with that shape
im no god at gaming but i can keep radiant on val for a hole act so im not bad i guess
Bruh ur crazy wdym. I've got into micea this year and went through lamzu mini, gpx, x2h, lamzu Maya & thorn. And I still feel like im missing something. I'm not as good as you, just ascendant 2.
Great video and I agree the op1 is goated. Wish you would’ve spoke more on the mods you did yourself to your personal copy.
thank u!! i would have talked more abt them but honestly i havent done nearly everything yet LOL i wanted to keep the mouse looking mostly stock for the vid. i plan on getting mech switches, a custom base and shaving down the side walls way more
@@ViscoseOCE understandable what side walls are you referring to? Any idea what switches you will go with? Also I was curious what pad you were on for majority of the clips
@@VLLN. just some of the supports on the sides u can get away without haha, and im probs gonna go with blue shell pink dots c: and my main pad atm is the shidenkai, i love it sm
You've ever considered fingertip mice? Like the g wolves hsk pro
I will probable be trying out a WLmouse Beast, they just announced a mini version at 116x58x35mm at 34grams.
im very keen for the mini version as well, i hope its what ur looking for c:
What is your grip type called? Claw grip? Or the grip from shroud?
Maybe you could also do a video about :)
Sincere question...How is the OP1we compared to Atlantis mini? They look almost identical in terms of the shape!(and similar in price too...) Is there a reason that you picked the OP1we over the Atlantis mini?
the main reason is the front flare + sides, the atlantis flares out more and has curved sides whereas the op1 has flat sides
i have used a rival 5 for 2 years now, and i just realized how lucky i was to find a perfect mouse for me on the first try
great video keep it upp! :D
Cheers
i have tried the mz1! and honestly did not like it at all LOL, the side profile doesnt vibe with where i position my fingers. that being said though, i did aim very well from it. one thing that might be worth noting is that my fav shape before this for both comfort and aiming was the za13-c, i only didn't main it because of the weight and the op1we was the first mouse to surpass it shape wise for me
Ordered the op1we with the lighter switches.. thanks again for the comprehensive review and explanation

Now I run a GPX on a skypad 3.0 and the shape of the mouse on this surface does not promote any stability on its own, do you think it would be beneficial for me to try the OP1we ?
totally agree about shape with being weight is also important but not as much as shape.
there is one unheard issue in general i am facing is postioning of sitting and handeling keyboard and mouse.
sometime i keep keyboard close to me then while playing it goes away and i completely stretch my hand , and constantly changing chair height continue to find right one, it is giving me some weird annoying feeling and hand fatigue that i close games because this is impacting my gameplay like movement, aim etc,
i really would appreciate if someday you can share about the overall posture and positioning of your hand for MnK , chair monitor distance, what you feel is comfortable.
I just found your channel by chance. Would you be willing to upload more game-plays as well if you have time? I am mesmerized by the way you play.
The shape looks very similar to the Pulsar X2V2 Mini except a bit narrower towards the front. I need to try the OP1.
Is your starlight 12 a medium or small?
Insane gameplay
great vid!
logitech x pro superlight might be the best modern mice right now, but I still love use wired mices that has 100g weight or higher.
shape is king!
Very true in more than just gaming too 😏
wait your hands are 18.5 by 9? I could have sworn they were smaller from the vid, I have 19 by 10 and feel my op1 looks super small in comparison to yours, must be because of the finger tip grip u use from time to time ?
ZA13 is my favorite shape and the op1 looks like it is the closest thing to that shape, but smaller. Can't wait til mine arrives. Wasn't a fan of the htx
EDIT: Just got it and it feels nothing like a ZA13 unfortunately.
SKYPAD FTW! w vid
I'm curious if you've tried the new Zowie U2. I have slightly bigger hands than you, and finding a small comfortable mouse has been a challenge. The "recommended" small finger tip mice always cause my hand to cramp up due to the way I hold it. So far, the U2 has been the best mouse I've tried, but I might try the OP1 8K.
i havent no but ive considered it a lot tbh, whats the shape like compared to other mice uve tried?
I use Razer Naga due to shape and lacking dexterity to press the number buttons goes really well
Hi, I need advice on finding a new mouse.
@@ViscoseOCE sounds like I need to try this shape soon hehe. Thanks for the important!
If you like the shape of this mouse, I guess you will love LETHAL GAMING's LA-1 too , aren't you interested?
