    Wondering what to make of the idea of only testing items on clearance… it’s a nice idea. I like your video and I wish you get more views

    Thank you for the time you put into this video. My wood floor looks identical to your floor before you applied your finish. Now I really would like to try this product. Thanks again for the content you share!🤙

    I wonder if you did more coats of the polyurethane near the doorways to make thicker seal would that have made it last longer ?

    • @sawdustandcornbread

      @nunyabiz2117 This is quite possible. I was leary of keeping everything smooth and even. Doormats would help as well. Unfortunately, our doggies think of them as pee pads. 😕 🙄 All my doormats have to be outdoors.

      @@sawdustandcornbreadhave another question, used low gloss.
      Love it. Although only did one coat, do u recommend 2nd coat?

    • @sawdustandcornbread
      @sawdustandcornbread  10 месяцев назад

      @@mariontia8380 I'm so happy you love the results! I think the instructions say to wait a few months before re-coating. However, my first coat was a bit thin. I did put another thin coat on mine a few weeks later. That has held up beautifully for several months now.

      @sawdustandcornbread I also did a thin coat (as well as a tester spot before doing whole floor)so thank u gonna go ahead w/2nd 'thin' coat. Ur vid was ever so helpful as well as ur responses.
      😊🤗

    Thanks for your video. I have had prefinished wood floors that are such dull looking. I watched your video. What was in your own spray bottle you sprayed before you used the BONA CLWANER. Thankyou Kathy

      Hi Kathy! Most of the time I use the Bona Hardwood floor cleaner. Before I applied the polish, I used a little liquid dish soap (less than a teaspoon) diluted in around 2 cups of warm water. Adding a splash of white distilled vinegar also helps dissolve any residue on the floor. Thanks for watching. God bless!

    What is in the bottle? Can you let us know what you use to clean the floors

      Typically, I use Bona hardwood floor cleaner. I believe, at the time of filming, I used a 60(ish) oz spray bottle filled with water, a touch of liquid dish soap, and a splash of white distilled vinegar. Thanks for watching!

      @katzumihanzo5471 Maybe you can work on small sections at a time. I'm sure it is a bigger challenge with little ones around. Give yourself some grace. ❤️ We can't do it all, all the time. Take care! 🥰

    Have you tried Bona Floor Polish? What do you think?

    • @nunyabiz2117
      @nunyabiz2117 Месяц назад +1

      Never have so so can’t say from experience. I wonder does it leave any residue or anything? Does it smell chemically strong when applying or waiting to dry? Does floor feel slippery after or just slick like a polished thing I imagine it is dried.
      I wonder what to do with old dull floors etc should one just sand them and sea them or maybe just clean them thoroughly etc and use a mild polish etc… seems difficult to clean bc can’t use too much water else could stage floors etc asking for a friend

    • @sawdustandcornbread
      @sawdustandcornbread  Месяц назад

      @nunyabiz2117 The smell isn't overwhelming. It does not leave a residue. The polished floors are a bit slippery at first, but only because they are so smooth.
      I recommend warm water with a splash of vinegar for very old/damaged floors. This isn't popular, but the best way to really get them clean is by hand. That way, you don't use too much water. They dry faster, and you get to all the uneven and rough places.
      Hope this helps your friend. 🙂

    Does it leave any kind of residue?????

    • @sawdustandcornbread
      @sawdustandcornbread  6 месяцев назад +1

      I haven't noticed a residue. It dries clear and hard. I will say, just as with polyurethane, temporary water marks are visible. For instance if you leave a damp mop on the floor for a few minutes you will see where it was sitting. After an hour or so it goes away. I noticed this on all our wood floors with polyurethane finish. I think it is a common occurrence.
