- Queen Elizabeth II and her sister Margaret, Countess of Snowdon were the daughters of the later King George VI and his wife Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. George VI who in his family was known as Albert of Bertie was the second son of George V and his wife Mary of Teck. In total George V and his consort Mary had 6 children, 5 sons and one daughter all of them of them logically being the uncle’s and aunt’s to the current monarch and her late sister. But who were their children, who at the time of their births were in the first few places in the line of succession. With the birth of the children of Elizabeth II, and the birth of her grandchildren and even great grandchildren, her cousins over the years moved way back in the line of succession and are today lesser known to the public. So in this video we will uncover their lives and families.

IT IS AMAZING HOW PRINCE WILLIAM RESEMBLES OUR CHARLES AND DIANAS WILLIAM. EXTRAORDINARY!
Thank you for making this video. The Queen's cousins are a valuable asset to her family and she maintains good relations with them.
Im sure Princess Diana expressed the Queens heartfelt regards
@@peterwilliamson8721whilst I’m not an historian I don’t think Diana was, in fact, a cousin of her majesty.
@@unclenelvis correct. she was distantly related to her ex through James VI/I
I believe she was and still is close to her first cousin, Princess Alexandra. She is alive but younger than the Queen and was a hard-working Royal when she was younger. She is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Kent, both deceased. Her mother was Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent and she was very popular in her time.
Very informative and easy to follow.
❤Most interesting historical documentation of the RF EVER! Thank you ❤
Thank you shearing this learning so much
The males from the Windsor family are really quite handsome. Prince William (First cousin of Queen Elizabeth) was really quite gorgeous 8:04 😍 I imagine that the Duke of Edinburgh's son is going to be extremely handsome as he matures.
Have you seen King Charles as a kid?? He was anything but cute!!
Prince William was young Prince Charles role model and favorite relative. His death was very traumatic for the sensitive young Charles. The current Prince William is named in his honor. Lord Mountbatten then became Prince Charles role model and advisor. Sadly he would be murdered in the bombing of his boat.
Love this deep dive. Facts I didnt know that were very interesting 🤔
so much prays and honors for all of them
The older brother left the throne for more reasons than a woman - he also had some connections with the Nazi’s so they’re like you have to go.
He was friends with a lot of the third tier Germans, such as von Ribbentrop and Hess.

Thanks for this wonderful account of the other members of the British royal family. Very engaging!
prince Michal is to me the royal who a pears in the most documentaries. in many ways he is the only bristish royal to tell his ancestors stories.
George pronounced his earldom as Har-wood. The current Earl has (very) recently announced it will, from now on, be pronounced as Hare-wood. But previous generations had been very fussy about it being Har, not Hare.
Great thanks
I thought odd to hear a docent say Hare wood
But now I see and hear it’s changed!
Great video please do the video on the queens noble cousins ( Bowles-Lyon )
Will do so :)
@@BackToHistoryYT Thank you very much 😇
Prince William was very handsome!
He's the other Prince William.
I wish I had met him
I wonder if the current prince William knows he was named after him!
King Charles was very close to the other prince William
His love story had a very tragic ending.
The Queen is close to her cousins and prince Micheal was in the 11th Hussars Regt not Housers

Princess Mary’s sons need a documentary

The late Prince Phillip's DNA was used to identify the members of the female members of the Russian Czar family. His mother was grand niece of the late Empress.

I love to study on Royalty
I've never heard if Queen Elizabeth was close to any of her cousins or uncles and aunt.
Yes she is close to her cousins and they are often with her at events.
Princess Alexandra handed over her life long Patronage of Guide Dogs for the Blind, to Sophie the Countess of Wessex, last year. Her brother the Duke of Kent stood with the Queen,on the balcony at Buckingham Palace, as the Queen review her troops during the Jubilee. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester are often seen at major events and are Working Royals.
They have all been supportive and hardworking members of her close family for years.Unfortunately
Just like her majesty, they are growing older and less active so are seen less.

Princess Marina was of pure Royal Blood and was said to have referred to the Queen as that common. Scots girl.
She called the Queen Mother and the Duchess of Gloucester ‘those common Scottish girls’
@@sgillespie964 I didn't know that about the Duchess of Gloucester.
Princess Marina was both a first and second cousin to Tsar Nicolas II Duchess of Gloucester was descended from Charles II and Nell Gwynn. She was an aunt of Fergie's dad.
Can you do a piece on the Queen's maternal cousins?
Prince Michael is the IMAGE of Tsar Nicholas II.

A fascinating video. May I make a respectful suggestion. The commentator really has to change her approach . The voice is dreary and persevering through the entire video is not easy. A little bit of conveying a sense of enthusiasm in her voice would be very helpful.
No offence meant Good luck
Thanks! Only comments like these help me improve my videos
Probably the best looking British royal in history 😍
William of Gloucester was very handsome, and he was engaged with a Hungarian woman he met in Japan, but because she was a divorced and had two children the Queen send her sister Margaret to Japan to make sure he put a end to the affair, soon after Prince William was diagnosed with porphyria, but that didn't limited him a n any way. Unfortunately he died in a small plane during a competition. Prince Charles now King Charles III was very found of him and named Prince William after him.
@@elisabethschwartz160She only had a teenage daughter.
Wait, Charles not the first UK royal to marry his mistress.
@@ilahildasissac1943 what are you on about?
I think Edward should have ditched Wallis Simpson and married some one else
That would've drastically changed the course of history. Elizabeth would've never been Queen, Charles wouldn't have married Diana and we wouldn't have had William and Harry. And Charles wouldn't be King now.
WallacE dearly wished he had. She just wanted to be a mistress. But he emotionally blackmailed her into marriage. Well documented.
He was besotted with her; just like Harry is with Meghan.
Marrying Wallis likely prevented the UK from aligning with the Nazis. Wallis & Edward were both openly anti Semitic. Hitler attempted to replace King George with Edward who the family actually called David. David never wanted the duty and responsibility of the job. The Queen Mum NEVER forgave David for thrusting the throne upon George. She also blamed him for King George’s youngish death to cancer. She felt the stress of the role combined with his lack of preparation for the role (being the spare he did not receive the same education and training that David did) led to him quickly succumbing to throat cancer.
It’s easy to say but it proves that his love ❤️ is pure and genuine. That no amount of money or position can change it,meaning it’s priceless.
You did not mention the the Duke of kent did have three other children as well 2 sons and a daughter
He is believed to have had some illegitimate children but he only had 3 with his wife
who?
Great Video can you imagine if Otto von Habsburg marry Elizabeth II ?
Never thought about that one
A little long in the tooth. Besides that, she is no longer fertile, I suspect.
Due to religious differences that scenario would have been very unlikely
@@pedanticradiator1491 It's fun to think what would have been.
It would interesting to hear more on them, did they have to forfeit their title when marrying outside of nobility/ if they had kids with their mistress? What was the succession to the crown act?
None of the Queen's uncles lost their titles, nor did her cousins. In fact, this was a presedence already set, surprisingly by Queen Victoria, whose middle daughter Louise married a Scottish peer but kept her titles. Same with Edward VII's daughter who also married a Scottish peer and kept her titles.
The two Lascelles brothers both had sons out of wedlock--Lord Harewood had a son named Mark with his "mistress" whom he latered married in 1967, three years after Mark was born. Gerald Lascelles had a son named Martin with his "mistress" whom he also later married in 1978 when their son was 16.
no only Patricia of connaught rencnounced her titles which she did entirely voluntarily
Prince William and The Prince of Wales look almost identical . So sad :(
OK this is goosebumps
Why William Queen Elizabeth cousin looks like William Queen Elizabeth grandson 🤣🤣😅
Ah, because they’re related.
Inbreeding does that
Prince William before my time
George the sixth was soo hot
I agree.
Maria Christine,Michael wife was born in Austria no Germany.
She was born in what is now the Czech Republic, which at one time was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire but was never part of Austria. Her father was a Nazi since 1930, an early one, yet apparently an ambivalent one. He served in the German Army in WWII.

DIANA REMEMBERED HANDICAPPED COUSINS OF QE2 THAT THE QUEEN HAD STASHED AWAY IN A ASYLUM, ONE SO ENDLESSLY THOUGHTFUL AND CARING A TRUE ROYAL.
The Queen did not stash them away in an asylum their mother the Queen's aunt did then had them listed as dead as at the time having mentally ill relatives was considered shameful and I don't think Diana had anything to do with their "discovery".
Those cousins were not royals, they were related to the Queen's Scottish mother. The Queen had no part in their family's decison to put them in a home where they were well cared for. Their afflictions were inherited from their mother who married into the Queen Mother's extended family. Those afflictions are not inheritable within the royal family. if they had not ben institutionalized they would still have no part in the royal family since they and their parents were not royals. A cousin of the Queeen (who grew up relatively poor) marrias a first cosuin of min but that does not make me a royal, a laughable thought.
Elizabeth and Margareth is daughter of Ivan and Igor..
Romanov family..
Elizabeth is not an Elizabeth II.. her is simply Elisabeth..
Elizabeth is Renaissance period..
Elisabeth is modern age..
Thanks❤ on one photo, oldest son of William Richard - William really reminds me of (now) Prince of Wales(also William😅), just one photo, probably his eyes.. the othe not that much
Yes! I noticed that similarity too
Is George, the one that was gay!!
George, Duke of Kent, was bisexual.

What’s with the lame comment?
And all of them are descendants of German not English at all 😂😂😂😂
Do you know where the original "English" people came from? I'm sure your ancestry is not 100% from the country of your birth. The last German born monarch of Great Britain died in 1760 so I'm pretty sure you could call the family British by now
@siegfriedsassoon5071 many Scots and Welsh have Anglo-Saxon and Norse ancestry just as a lot of English have celtic backgrounds. Usually if you call someone who was born and raised in a particularly country as not belonging to that country is considered racist but for some reason it seems perfectly acceptable to do so when royalty are involved
Elizabeth's Aunt married a future British Earl & her Uncle , the Duke of Gloucester married the daughter of a British Duke. So their children were British. As were Queen Elizabeth & her Sister . Their Mother was the daughter of a British Earl.
Fast forward- Princess Diana’s family have more English bloodlines than the royal family.
The mispronunciations throughout this video are dresdful. Can't even say "Cambridge" correctly.
