aha, I was looking for the dd command to flash that os image through jumpdrive, would it be fair to say that this is the fastest way to flash your os direct in your internal drives/bootloader? faster than etcher or other disc/usb writers? Thank you, sir!

Did you have to do anything to enable your physical keyboard? I tried plugging one in (using a USB to USB C adapter) but it didn't work. Also my mouse and my piano didn't work. Do you have to do anything in settings to enable USB controllers? Does PinePhone power them?
@@aurelf3158 Apologies, I should have specified a full linux distro. I know android is Linux based but I wasn't expecting a "vanilla" linux option rather than the Big G spysuite.
I've been running a manually-bootstrapped debian chroot on my Samsung android devices for years, with my current daily driver, the Note 8 being no exception... but besides for the fact that Android's evolution seems to be diverging from Linux (one needs to deal with all kinds of SELinux permission errors each time a new version of Android is released), and the fact that it isn't as easy as one might expect to interface with the phone's sensors, network config etc from the chroot, I'm also becoming increasingly more paranoid about Google spying, phone vendors locking bootloaders so the device can't be rooted, etc (I mean, if I paid for it, I'm the administrator, let me use my own hardware how I see fit). Google used to have a reputation for being innocent and impartial.. that is no longer the case. I think this type of solution is going to become increasingly more popular, not only for people who are tech-inclined, but privacy conscious. Luckily there are manufacturers out there building devices like this Pinephone. Very compelling, thanks for sharing this informative walkthrough
@@TallPaulTech Thanks. I bought an old PinePhone BETA in part b/c I want to challenge myself to build Node.JS web apps in the most humble hardware possible. So I've been asking people what OS is the most lightweight. Some say Arch Barebone. Some say postmarketOS SXMO. (But SXMO is based on gestures & repeatedly pressing the side buttons on the PinePhone over & over... and I'm an old foggie who can't stand gestures, so I'm absolutely not going to use SXMO.) Some people even say Ubuntu Touch... but, as much as I love Ubuntu on my laptops, multiple reviews said Ubuntu Touch on PinePhone crashes..... even if it has been improved to not crash anymore, I find it very hard to believe it is the fastest now.....
@@TallPaulTech If I can find time, maybe I will make videos booting multiple OSes from SD card on the PinePhone BETA to see for myself....... although my day job as a software engineer eats up almost all of my time........ so, I may not be able to do that....
@@bvds2007 True however they've done this before with some gear, it depends if they can have it considered as an appliance type of device. I've seen some that switched to this concept for narrow-range systems (e.g. automated displays), things which have a limited expectation of customisation which corporate phones should have more than, say, a PC.

No, I just plugged it in like normal and it worked fine.
