I’m so sick of people focusing on ‘did Johnny ever hit you’ and her synchronization. Let me ask you something. If you were in a fight you started, and someone fought back and hit you, could you still with a straight face say they hit you? Yeah. You could. We need to stop classifying relationships where men are abused as ‘toxic’ and relationship where women are abused as ‘abusive’. If you’re defending yourself against your abusive partner, your hits are not abuse. End of story.

My male cousin finally fought back against his female abuser after years of physical and verbal abuse... She ended up dead and he ended up in jail. We all told him that he needed to leave but he thought he could handle himself, partially because of this whole idea that men couldn't REALLY be abused (especially in the Carribean community, very macho culture).
Men, PLEASE, if something like this is happening, you need to leave. If not for your own sake, for her sake ☹️ no one can stand that kind of relationship forever

My mother was in an abusive relationship with my dad but my brother was in a toxic relationship with his wife that would abuse him every single day and her brother started to bully and abuse my brother as well until my brother took his own life bc he couldn’t handle the attacks on him. They abused him until he felt worthless. We tried to sue them for wrongful death and was told by police and lawyers that we had no case. We finally dropped it and moved on bc it was killing my mom emotionally and I didn’t want those ppl to take another person I love.

From what I've seen, 90% of Amber's response has been, "If you don't believe me then it's your fault." She twists literally every statement into the other person didn't understand, or cheated, or lied, or didn't pay attention. No where does she accept that someone simply didn't buy what she was selling. It's truly bizarre.
An example: "Johnny's lawyers said you gave the performance of a lifetime." Amber's response: "This coming from lawyer's of the man who convinced the world he had knives for fingers." What? Those are completely unrelated things. One is about you lying on the stand, one is about a fictional character in a movie. The gaslighting is intense.
Another is: "The jury didn't believe you." Amber's response: "They were looking at social media and this sets back women."
Nothing is ever her fault and you're too stupid to see her truth.
Edit: Another great example is around 22:00 where she is confronted with her comment where she taunts her severely abusive husband that she was terrified of "tell the world I johnny Depp, a MAN, was abused" and rather than just acknowledging she said that, she twists it into "But 20 second clips don't tell anything." Basically implying what you heard you're not hearing correctly. But Amber, your lawyers could play ANY part of that tape to show more than just 20 seconds to show different context. They didn't. Also, why not address the fact you claimed all this abuse and you laughed in his face and made a point of saying no one would believe him? Called him names? Put him down? Admitted your own physical abuse?

First, I don't think anybody was "convinced" that Edward Scissorhands was a documentary.
Second, you can be put in the role to give the performance of your lifetime and still execute it horribly.
Third, she says that everybody only listened to "20 second clips" and acts like the internet isn't curious. There are PLENTY of us who are crazy enough to have listened to hours of her insanity and the heartbreaking shit that went on between them. And honestly, you don't even need to do that to see the truth.
Next, "taking responsibility" now doesn't do squat if we're talking about the trial, where she did none of that. All she continues to do is the classic abuser line of "I was horrible because he made me be that way."
_"Look what you made me do, Johnny!"_
Last, it's almost insulting that she thinks she can still manipulate the entire world with just her words even though we've seen all the evidence to the contrary. This _would_ be insulting if it weren't so pathetic.
Getting found liable in a defamation suit is pretty much the strongest "cease and desist" that you can be presented with. And she refuses to either cease or desist. I don't know what she thinks she's doing.

she has an echo chamber surrounding her reaffirming her own feeling of victimhood, so i find it easy to believe she has convinced herself that (despite the fact that so much is lies) she really is the injured party. remember, her biggest fears are humiliation and abandonment. in her mind, JD abused her whenever he would leave. she believes she is a victim. the histrionic PD just makes it easy to blow up all the lies bigger and bigger about other "abuse" for attention, but she feels like the foundation is true.

You used the term "mutual abuse" in your video and I wanted to bring to your attention a term that doesn't get talked about enough, which is "reactive abuse". Reactive abuse is a technique used by manipulative abusers (unfortunately mostly female ones) where they try to provoke their victim into fighting back. This is done mainly for two reasons: 1) anything they do to their victim after that point (in their mind) is completely justified as the abuser can now claim self defense, and 2) it creates a trap for the victim as they will now widely be considered " just as bad" for fighting back. As a survivor of DV, I have seen this first hand and I know the strength of the humiliation that comes with not fighting back and how overwhelming the urge can be to fight back. Reactive abuse may be a more fitting term for the situation between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. She has been heard multiple times in audio clips, described in his testimony, and seen in the cabinet video trying to provoke him. If he lashed out verbally or physically as a response to her provocation and abuse, it does not make him an abuser and it does not make it mutual abuse. A victims that fights back is still a victim. This may also account for the confusing synchronization when Amber Heard said he was lying and that she only spoke the truth. As well as constantly trying to blame her actions on Johnny Depp. She may have provoked him into fighting back and thus believes 100% that she was justified in everything she did. Which is a huge reason why reactive abuse is a topic that deserves more attention.

Yes! If the fighting is actually mutual (as in both sides are sometimes the aggressor, and both sides are committing relatively equal levels of violence), it wouldn't be abuse, that's just a terrible relationship! Abuse implies a carefully constructed power balance that prevents the victim from being able to fight back in a meaningful way

    • @ExcuseMee

Yes, I used to have a coworker who would bring her home drama to work. She would lie often to my manager, and she'd tell me about how she'd insult and degrade her boyfriend during an argument. Yet a year later she transferred to another store, and we find out she came to work beaten up. However she'd have random outbursts towards customers and easily angered. Throws tantrums and often has panic attacks. I don't know who's the abusive one in her relationship, but I know she degrades her partner a lot. Even though he put his hands on her, I wouldn't be surprised if she said some fucked up things that triggered that response from him.
Reading your comment, I wouldn't be surprised if she is a manipulative person (she is also a compulsive liar) who uses reactive abuse.

Excellent comment. Perfectly explained. I wish everyone understood this. It's so important. Him verbally abusing her and saying he hopes her corpse is rotting in the back of a Honda Civic is reactive abuse (and revenge fantasies, also extremely common for victims to have). She has pushed him to breaking point.

Nice to know there is a name for it. My grandfather did this. He used to find any reason to criticize people in the family or just insult us in order to provoke a reaction. He wanted the other person to start a fight. The only way to deal with him was to stand up to him in the most logical and emotionless way possible. I know it was deliberate because he never did it in public. In public he was a charming old man who liked to tell jokes to entertain waitresses. At home he was pulling my hair while I was in the middle of a hypoglycemic reaction. My mom yelled at him. He yelled a lot mainly about being unappreciated or unwelcome. He left and came back four hours later with a new tv. Only apology I ever got from him.

Then, I heard her say in the latest installment that her voice is much different today than in the tapes. Implying that she's an entirely different person. “You don’t have the resources, say, you or I do.” That statement struck me as a huge red flag the first time I saw this interview clip. To me, it was confirmation that she never experienced DV. If she had, she wouldn’t be looking at the position of a victim or survivor from an outside perspective. And if she truly were a victim of abuse, she could have taken advantage of the resources she at the time, of which she had far more than she does now (concierge medical staff, money, privacy, live-in support system, the opportunity to flee, etc).
As someone who actually had to live through an extremely abusive marriage myself, that rubbed me the wrong way..

I found her use of language very interesting and very telling. She spoke about the things she said and did in the relationship as if she were forced to. Saying things like “unrecognizable to myself” “one half of that relationship” and “we were horrible to each other” and then outright saying she was pushed to the point where she no longer knew the difference between right and wrong, all indicate that she is blaming Johnny for her behavior. It’s a very common tactic used by abusers. They will be abusive and violent, and when the victim is understandably upset by it, they will act so remorseful and devastated by what they themselves just did, but always through the lens of it somehow being the fault of the victim; as if the abuser has no control over themselves or their actions. She even uses language like “I have so many regrets” and “I made so many mistakes” which could easily be taken as her admitting to being abusive and owning up to it, but in actuality, in her mind, she could be thinking of mistakes and regrets such as regretting ever starting a relationship with him in the first place, the mistake of not being able to control him into staying quiet, regret over letting him go by getting a divorce, etc.

She takes herself out of it. If she wasn't explaining what she read somewhere that victims do, she would've said something similar to what Johnny said in court when she cut his finger off. She would've said she was taking blame to keep things somewhat peaceful and not set him off. But she didn't because nothing ever happened to her. I absolutely love your views on this case. I understand if you'd really prefer to be done with this case, but I'd watch every single video you choose to post about it. You do a fantastic job of teaching what to watch for. Thank you for your content.

She implies with her comments on the “average person” that her experiences are beyond our layman’s understanding. She constantly exudes superiority and being above others and their comprehension.
She’s not. She lied. Doubled down. Lost. Now she’s going for round 3 but her best option is to just stop digging the hole and, if not purposely through amends and taking responsibility, allow time to fill it back in. They were mutually terribly behaved. No doubt. Her issue is that she’s lied and dramatized to the point of being unbelievable. She’s the child that no one CAN believe because the story is so muddied that you’ll never get a clear view of the truth.

It's pure arrogance. She's a high school dropout. Whatever fame she had she got the old fashioned way. She's not superior to anyone

Lols this is the only way she will be remembered - leeching and riding coat tails on a well known actor through legal battles because she cant build a name for herself through acting. 😆

No her issues is that she lied and actually made up stories that didn’t exist. And he was only horrible to her because she was abusing the f out of him, mentally, emotionally and physically. If you keep poking and prodding and coming at someone everyday, they’re going to snap… one day they aren’t going to take it anymore. And that’s what happened here. That’s why Johnny started to fight back verbally…

The fact that she thinks there is a 'perfect victim's, as if it was something she strives to be, makes me absolutely sick.

And that she absolutely hated being referred to as a victim in the trial itself.
Camille: "You wanted to be seen, excuse me, as a noble victim of domestic violence, didn't you?"
Amber: "I have never, NEVER wanted to be seen as a victim... nor have I ever called myself one."

I think that is yet another point of how she is attempting to “act” like this or like that- in this case, she’s trying to “act perfectly” how she thinks a REAL victim of abuse would speak and behave.

When she says when you’re in an abusive dynamic “you don’t have the resources that say you or I do with the luxury…” so she did not include herself in a victim state. That’s a huge slip up.

There are so many "last videos" in this series... but AH just keeps giving interviews. Maybe this will truly be the last, maybe it won't, but regardless of the content we are always glad for it!

Several lawyers and Body Language channels have made "several last videos about her".
We thought "ah, finally, we caught her, she lost, it's over!" But not, the b###h can't shut up!

Something that's been pointed out by others and that really struck me as telling is when Amber says that when your in that situation "emotionally and physically you don't have the resources that say YOU or I do." It seems with that wording, she's removed herself from the pool of victims. She says that she has the resources to deal with it in the same sentence trying to defend her actions. You can't do both.

I’d love to watch her reaction to watching her SELF. Does she really have zero clue about how she comes off? Her tone, her body language, her contemplated facial expressions. Would she be frightened herself to see it? Where were the people on her team coaching her thru all this stuff? THAT is why she lost-she lies AND she OOZES ROT from her very core in everything she says and does.

The whole interview aired Friday night. They put out snippets throughout the week teasing the whole interview.
I think that she was so convincing when she said “yes, it is, to the question of is that a lie about JD never hitting her because she probably has a very different view of what that means. When I hear hit I think “punched”, when she hears hit, it could be something very different.
    Great video as always!

I do think her testimony where she expressed her frustration of feeling stifled in her acting career was truthful. I can see JD discouraging her from working. That was probably the only sincere statement in the whole trial from her.

Honestly I don’t know if I can believe she had a surrogate maybe she’s like mother gothel singing shine and gleam and glow let your power’s shine. That’d be terrifying if she actually did kidnap a baby (I’m not saying she actually kidnapped her kid but as a joke yk)

I feel like she's speaking as an abuser who knows how they drive their victim to the edge and out of control. She said in this same interview that she still loves Johnny. My experience that after escaping DV you hate the person with everything within you. Things just don't add up.

Hey Logan, really liking your coverage of this, I have a hard time finding others who's actually trying to be objective on this interview because ofc everyone has a stance on it already.
It would be awesome if you could cover the Ezra Miller and Dakota/Iron Eyes case that's going on, and the instragram video she made. I think it would be really interesting to see ^^
