Standard features include air conditioning w/dual-zone climate controls, tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel w/radio and climate controls, cruise control, and 8-way power driver seat. Options include leather upholstery, heated 10-way power front seats, memory system, navigation system, premium sound system, universal garage door opener, power sunroof, heated/cooled front seats, and heated steering wheel. I love the car, even without the options. It's sporty and luxurious.
Just remember that my Consumer Guide book refers to the following cars as "Midsize luxury sedan": Audi A6, Cadillac CTS, Lexus ES, Lexus GS, BMW 5-Series, Lincoln MKZ, Acura TL, Acura RL, Infiniti G, Infiniti M, Jaguar XF, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Compact luxury cars are the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, Lexus IS, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. My bottom line: The CTS is slightly more upscale and slightly roomier than compact sedans including the Audi A4 and 3-Series. It indeed IS a midsize sedan.
@VolGreg yeah i hear ya. best thing about American cars is they are tons simpler and usually not overdone with plastic. This makes them easier to work on yourself. I do all my own work when I can and it pays off in the end.
@VolGreg my family has always had audi's and mercede's and they have proved to be very good cars. my grandfather still has an 82 turbodiesel (forget the exact model) that still runs strong with 330k miles. I bought an 06 CTS 3.6L a few months ago and so far it's been great but there are tons of other 3.6L CTS's that are having serious timing chain failures at very low mileage (25k was the lowest!). I guess any car will have it's issues but I will ALWAYS buy American.
ok you're partially right. now i realize that i was wrong to compare the cadillac cts with the lexus es. the cts is sportier, while the lexus es is more for comfort. but i want you to understand that the cadillac cts and lexus es are in the same category - midsize luxury cars. and they have similar pricing. they're somewhat similar cars, but you're right, they're not competitors. but to not compare the audi a6 and bmw 5-series would be foolish. you must admit that THOSE two cars compete.
yep just curious, what differences do you discover between the cadillac cts and lexus es? i understand that the cts has a sportier background, while the lexus is more for comfort. i know that they are both pretty upscale/luxurious cars.
I went from a Nissan Altima 2007 to this exact model, can you tell me what i need to know just to be sure. I understand that this is a way more powerful car but the engine scares me cus its so loud lol but thats normal right
The engine makes 304hp so the exaust should not be loud. Unless someone put an aftermarket exaust on it. Is it making a 'putting' sound. "putputputput"?
I am 28 years old, and I have a predilection toward cars (as you have probably already deduced). The Cadillac DTS does not compete with the Toyota Avalon. The Avalon is a regular full-size sedan while the DTS is a luxury sedan. Same goes for the Buick Lucerne. The DTS' only competitor is really the Lincoln Town Car, and maybe even the Volvo S80. It's one thing to not know too much about cars, though it's another thing to be defiant that you do not know too much about cars.
Nope. The 5 series and E-Class are more upscale, sportier, and significantly higher priced than the CTS. You need to understand your facts before you rudely present false information. The Acura TL, Infiniti G, Lincoln MKZ, and Lexus ES350 are all priced very similarly to the Cadillac CTS, and all five cars have very similar dimensions. The Mercedes C-Class, BMW 3-series, Audi A4, and Lexus IS have similar pricing but smaller dimensions.
Just got a fully loaded one. with bad timing chains. Easier and cheaper to fix than a bmw mb. Bmw is half plastic cooling system and leaky engines suck. This car has 132k miles and not leaking anywhere.
After reading the first sentence of your comment, I chose not to read any more of your comment. Then I later decided to read the rest of what you had to say. I'm not interested in talking with you if you can't get your facts straight. What's true is actually the converse of what you said. You said "Just because the CTS was priced to cars like the MKZ, ES"..."CTS actually competes with cars like Audi A4". Actually, it's the other way around. Again, get your facts right.
@VolGreg how could you not love a vette! the only fail years are the 80s and 90s vettes... So ugly. but my favorite years are the 56, 67, and the newest z06's. i plan to trade my cts to either a CTS-V or a vette in the near future. i miss my v8 :(
@janmaomuriano, maybe if I could afford a V lol.... don't really need the additional power though, and honestly I like the grill on the normal CTS/CTS coupes a whole lot better.
@ratmtbola or your a hater on American cars m8...Your not a engineer so don't give me the 'german engineering' story..you bought into the pitch line :)... The 5 series or A6 is not in the same class as the CTS
Fastest luxury sedan, and they don't break the bank either.... man that would be sweet, but I'm breaking the bank with a CTS or STS whatever I go with...
When it comes to luxury sedans, BMW has the best performance, Mercedes has the best badge and interior comfort, Audi is the most capable in adverse weather conditions, Acura is the most reliable, and Lexus has the lowest cost of ownership due to its high resale value. Cadillac is the jack-of-all trades, it's decent in all categories, but doesn't really stand out in any one area. I don't see Cadillac returning to days of glory unless it can beat the competition in at least 1 category.
@VolGreg Yeah I hear ya. I would probably be buying used also depending on what I can find. And yeah they always kept the power in the vettes through those years but the looks just weren't there. overall the 80's and 90's were just a rough time for cars anyway but the american muscle is what really took a dive into the ugly pool. mustangs came out like econo-boxes. camaros came out looking slapped together with poorly made sheet metal. really the monte carlos were the only exception lol.
@ratmtbola wow really not according to comsumer digest, don't believe do some research, bmw finish almost dead last in customer satisfaction and they are costly when they begin to break down, audi, omg please stay away from them, that's all i got to say about them
@The2001OldsAurora Name one 'luxury feature' the Seville STS introduced that no one else had at that time. I'm waiting. Because as far as I remember, the Seville STS was a huge pile of shit.
@janmaomuriano too similar and the repair costs are too much to make it worth it. i love audi but man do they make a dent in the wallet. ill stick with american for now until i win the lotto ;D
@thegmcar Quality comment dude ... please stop making me laugh. Caddis are nice, but nowhere near anything German in terms of technology, sophistication, quality and luxury. And that's a fact. And if you think differently you're either just a stupid Caddilac fanboy or a hater of German cars.
I own the 2008 cadillac cts gray color , all windows tinted , and it turn heads every where I go, it's a really beautiful car.
Angel Camacho It really turns heads?
Reliable?
I drive an 08' CTS and I LOVE it! I couldn't be happier with how it looks and drives!!!
Update???
I'm just now thinking about getting one , not bad for my first ride
Joo PanG! What did you get?
Joo PanG! hey did you buy the car after all?
Same here
I'm looking for the cts coupe. If I don't find one that's perfect for me then I'll get the sedan.

@VolGreg yeah i hear ya. best thing about American cars is they are tons simpler and usually not overdone with plastic. This makes them easier to work on yourself. I do all my own work when I can and it pays off in the end.
i love this car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my family is thinking about buying a new car its between the cts or the chevy malibu
the 2008-present Cadillac CTS is assembled in
Lansing, Michigan, United States
Miaoli, Republic of China
Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia
Great Car! Great Review!
are cadillac cts 09 reliable ? what are the major problems ?
i want this car, its rarely seen on the UK roads
Got it?
i can't find the review that i've seen earlier, but the 05 cts can does 13's in a quarter mile right?
My Favorite Caddy
Still?
I just purchased this Vehicle, any suggestions?
Miguel Medrano Take care of it if you want it to last a while.
I went from a Nissan Altima 2007 to this exact model, can you tell me what i need to know just to be sure. I understand that this is a way more powerful car but the engine scares me cus its so loud lol but thats normal right

no no no, mhm I dont know how to describe it. Its not " LOUD " its just u feel and hear that the car is on and running if that makes any sense.
Miguel Medrano upload a video to RUclips and link it on here. you still have the car?
I am 28 years old, and I have a predilection toward cars (as you have probably already deduced).

can i plug ipod touch on the cadillac?
i love my caddy
whats price
gotta love the caddy

Where is the spare?
Das ist mein nächstes Auto ;) Ich kann nur sagen ist klasse gelungen ;)
Sir please! can you tell Total cost: ??. of his cadillac 2009? (Note: No installment/Lease per monthly cost tell). Just Total cost today?
@chelsea4life11 Yeah true. The 5 series or A6 are about two or three classes higher than the CTS ...
does anyone know if the 2003 cadillac cts has a sunroof??
I wish there was a compact cts similar to the Acura RSX with a 4 cylinder engine.
Acura TSX
Just got a fully loaded one. with bad timing chains. Easier and cheaper to fix than a bmw mb. Bmw is half plastic cooling system and leaky engines suck. This car has 132k miles and not leaking anywhere.

I know the 05 did but I'm not sure about the 03
If you get the "necessary" options, around $44,000
wish i had money :(
I got one
Really !? My mom is picking up hers on Thursday :)
How's it?
@VolGreg how could you not love a vette! the only fail years are the 80s and 90s vettes... So ugly. but my favorite years are the 56, 67, and the newest z06's. i plan to trade my cts to either a CTS-V or a vette in the near future. i miss my v8 :(
i think they only made this because most cadillac owners are a million years old, but i really do want this
@janmaomuriano, maybe if I could afford a V lol.... don't really need the additional power though, and honestly I like the grill on the normal CTS/CTS coupes a whole lot better.

Ничего не понятно, но очень интересно )))
the new camaro will have the same engine as this caddy engine, a very powerful v6 :P
same here....same here ;''(
Pick up the cts-v if you can :P
@VolGreg Yeah I hear ya. I would probably be buying used also depending on what I can find. Repair 2009 cts driver door
I don’t need to know anything about the exterior of the cars, at least when purely pertaining to aesthetic features.
the first generation looks better on the outside
@ratmtbola wow really not according to comsumer digest, don't believe do some research, bmw finish almost dead last in customer satisfaction and they are costly when they begin to break down, audi, omg please stay away from them, that's all i got to say about them
the interior is pretty nice looking but its too cramped. i have a 2010
Still?
@The2001OldsAurora Name one 'luxury feature' the Seville STS introduced that no one else had at that time. I'm waiting. Because as far as I remember, the Seville STS was a huge pile of shit.
@NakedSnakeBlGBOSS not neccessarily more relaible but DEFINITELY cheaper.
Nice car but not yet as good as the E-Class, 5 series or A6.
@janmaomuriano too similar and the repair costs are too much to make it worth it. i love audi but man do they make a dent in the wallet. ill stick with american for now until i win the lotto ;D
