  • It’s a rite of passage when you turn 16: Getting a driver’s license. However, many families find that securing an appointment is a test in and of itself. Linda from Sartell wanted to know, why is it so hard to schedule a driver’s license test? Good Question.

That's very unfortunate because it can take several hours to get from town to town. Most of these kids already know how to drive. 😮

It literally takes months of checking the website daily to get an appointment. I drove over an hour away for my second test and failed because the examiner was nitpicking. She actually tried to set me up during the driving exam. As I was pulling out of parallel parking she told me to go straight and said it quickly again as if encouraging me to run the red light. I think they fail people on purpose so that we have to pay for the next test, probably how they make money. There are a lot of bad drivers in Minnesota and the things I needed to improve aren’t as bad as how the idiots around here drive. I’ve been on the bus and multiple times someone thought it was a smart idea to cut in front of the bus or try to cut in front the bus even though the bus is feet away. All the close exam places NEVER have openings, how is that even possible?! Are they just not accepting appts? It’ll be a year soon that I passed the written exam, this entire process is ridiculously annoying. I’m a grown woman that just needs to get my license so I can buy a car and drive myself to work and to the damn grocery store. Rochester is not pedestrian friendly, it lacks sidewalks and the bus system sucks. No busses later in the night, I mean cmon not everyone works 9-5.

I reside in New Jersey. I got my license two years ago. What's up with MN?

56% fail the written test as sad as it is to see others fail it honestly that makes me feel better about myself knowing I’m not the only idiot failing the written tests

Could it have anything to do with the recent change to give MN driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants?
