I booked my driving test to be done at Gregory Hills yesterday, however I got there and plans fell through with that centre, and then was transferred to Macquarie Fields for yesterday instead. I tried to find mock videos of the Macquarie Fields mock driving tests however I don’t think you have any yet. But I still passed and got my Ps! Cannot thank you enough for that 🥰

I got P1 with Q , I read that we can’t USE GPS even if it was hands free , and there’s no way I would know where to go without it ( have been in Sydney for three months)

Hello, i have my driving test this Thursday in Lismore. I found your videos really helpful but i have two questions.. When parking a manual car, should I engage the handbrake first and then shift into neutral gear and engine off, or should I shift into neutral gear first and then engage the handbrake? I drive a modest car that's not particularly fancy, and it has a small net in the front. Would this be a reason for my car to be refused during the driving test?

Hey jimbo i wanted to thank you for all your tips! I almost passed my test today i had no minor errors at all. I had to turn right at a intersection but i couldnt see cos there was a van parked. I started slowly creeping forward until the lady yelled STOOP cos there was a uncoming car. It was immediate fail. I reckon it was not fair at all!! I didnt have any other choise but to creep in and i was doing it veeeery slowly and she thought that i was turning. The oncoming car was around 5-6 sec away anyway even if i turned i wouldve made it. I tried explaining to her that i wasnt going to turn until i saw that it was clear but nope! Im so upset but hopefully next time i can pass :(

Hi Jimbo, can I ask on 20:20 if you didn't realise immediately that you need to queue up behind that car for left turn and you went a bit ahead already. Can you stay in your current lane with left indicator on and try to squeeze in if there's a gap? Or do I just tell examiner sorry you missed the left turn and just go straight ahead? Thanks.
Hey jimbo, i was wondering as a learner driver what are the rules on the supervisor driver (in the state of nsw)? are they allowed to assume this position and sit besides you guiding right away ( as soon as they reach full license) or must it be 1+ year that they hold the full license before being able to supervise. need clarification

I've got my test booked in at the end of the month! Am I allowed to adjust my mirrors if I get asked to do the reverse parallel manoeuvre? I've been practicing by putting my mirrors all the way down to be able to see the curb and tyre and it's made it a lot easier for me.
Yes you can do that. Remember to put them back when you are done
hey jimbo great vid i still cant even get mt Ls till april but i figured id start practicing/studying early. How does the ps test work because from what i've heard, you only do one of the 2 options, being a 3 point turn or a reverse park, and i'd never even heard of the curb stop. is the curb stop an option too? and yeah, please clarify do you do both/all 3 in the test or just 1?
curbstop is a must, it will be on all tests, reverse parallel and 3 point turn are options, you do either of them

Hi Jimbo, thanks for these videos. If caught in situations similar to 37:10, and it's hard to find a gap where both lanes are clear, can we turn to the leftmost lane first then just change lane a few secs after? Or do you get marked down if you eventually find yourself stuck behind parked cars? Thanks!
Hi Bob if you choose not have both lanes clear you are at risk of the car in the second lane changing lanes and hitting you. I know it might sound like it won't happen but it does and they do it without using indicators. But if you did go for one lane clear and didn't get hit and then got stuck but eventually got yourself around those parked cars without needing help and did all the correct signals and checks then there would be no mark down. This is more about choosing safer driving practices to reduce the probability over time of an accident.

Can someone explain to me the part where they change lanes while turning? I thought you need to stick to your lane first, especially when turning, and then change lanes. Hi Jimbo. Quick question, when Turning from a single lane into double lanes on a traffic light seen in 27:39 should you always do that when going from single to double lanes? And do you get marked down for it in the test. Thanks !!
Yes you can jump to the second lane if your turning lane is a single turning lane. Eesha jumped to the right lane coz she knew was turning right straight away. No mark down.

Hi Jimbo, if I am driving auotomatic, is it necessary to put the brake hold when doing a kerb side stop/ reverse parallel parking?
Hi there with the Kerbstop you are being asked to shut down and secure the car which involves the hand brake. In the reverse park you are not asked this so you don't need the handbrake involved. Have a look at both videos that cover this.
If I do a kerb side stop and then roll up a couple of meter to avoid the opposite drive way. Is that still okay? Thank you.

I think it's the same as the normal driving test.
I am learning to drive in the UK (London). I watched a lot of mock test videos ,somehow, this video came up. It looks much easier in Australia, to be honest. The roads are wider wich I like.

I don't have a mock test vid for Mittagong. I don't know the routes that well but I do know they can go into Bowral so be aware of the speed limits on the road that connects Mittagong to Bowral particularly going downhill. Be aware of the usual ie stop signs , right turns at lights without arrows
Hey Jimbo! When we've pedestrians crossing along a legit pedestrain crossing, should we wait till they're completely out of it on to the pavement or we can drive along as soon as they've crossed our section of the road?
With Children's Crossings (ie at schools) you have to wait until everyone if off. With normal (non Children's) crossing the people just have to be walking away from you and you can go.
Converted my Overseas PH license to NSW License successfully with 1 GO!!! I took mine in BROOKVALE, it was not that easy but if you know how to do it the correct way you will manage to pass!

Hey jimbo! I passed today on the second go. I couldnt help but wonder what does this marking mean. My driving was almost prefect no errors except i got both times marked (k) and (mh). What does that mean? Im very curious😂
Congratulations on passing!!!. The k refers to the zone that you did the kerbstop manoeuvre in. The m refers to the zone that you did the reverse park or 3pt manoeuvre. The h next to the m means you got a head check error. Most likely during the manoeuvre. It would most probably be not looking around before reversing and/or not looking out the back sufficiently during reversing.

Hi jimbo just wanted to check if Eesha didnt signal off the first two roundabouts(single laned) would she receive a signal error?
Yes you are right. Testing officers only mark multi lane. However as a strategy I get students to signal off the single lane as well. You'll notice she didn't forget to signal off the dual one near the end? It's because I got her signal off all roundabouts and made it habit.

Question, when you said there was no need for blindspot/head check for pulling into the left to turn left … I was told by my instructor that you can fail if you don’t check regardless if there’s parked cars there because cyclists can ride through that small shoulder part? I always check regardless but wanted to see if points are actually taken off for not checking if cyclists push through?
They only mark it when there is potential for another car to fit up the side. So if there are already parked cars and you are close to them then they don't mark it. If you want to check every turn then go for it if it makes you happy.
Is there a step by step guide to turning on the car and pulling out? And turning off the car? My driving instructor is telling me that it’s instant fail if I do it wrong.

I failed with 6 missed head checks, the examiner said I didn’t really fully miss any but when at an intersection I didn’t look the right way before turning - like I looked both ways but should of checked the other way before making the turn. I didn’t really understand her, Do you think maybe she was really nit picky with the head checks because I told her that I failed from missed head checks last time? (In my first test I fully understand where I missed the checks) Thanks
I can't really make judgement unless I am there watching. It's best just to make sure you are clear how and when to do these checks and make sure you make them obvious and hopefully next time it all works out. Best of luck 🤞

It's typically when there's either space next to you so that a driver or a bike rider could come up next to you or if there's cars blocking your view, so you'd be looking to make sure a pedestrian isn't going to cross into your path

You are probably right. Well spotted!!! In reality most examiners may not mark a signal error as she did have it on it just clicked off. But technically you are right.
