I'm 77 years old and have been fishing for 70 of them. If I live to be a 1000, I'll never understand why the manufacturers don't open this show to the public. They make all of this equipment for the fishing public and 95% of the fishing public will never see or know any of these new products exist.
How will a middle man make money???? It’s almost like brads are making the minimum for the maximum profit and can give two sh*ts about the retuning customers
I almost bought an Oru, but each time i wanted to buy it i quickly did a reddit search and quickly found from people's experiences that the caveat of those foldable kayaks is they start to fail at the sections of where it bends. So its a product that won't last long and i don't know about you but if you go under water in a alpine lake or any body of water in the winter you are pretty much KO from hypothermia. The safety alone is the biggest reason for me.

@@JoeOceanside BOTE is not reliable for air leaks...I've whacked my other inflatable SUP by Tower with a machete and beat the hell out of it for 10 years before it finally died to overheating and having the epoxy melt after leaving it out. My first Bote Rackham lasted all of 3 months before the outer layer popped and then 2 months after that I got a leak on the bottom from a submerged stick. Fished the same body of water with the Tower and ran over the same crap with no issue...BOTE does have the most bells and whistles but the material is far from reliable especially when u consider the price
@@JoeOceanside I had a Hobie i11 for a while that was awesome. I was nervous at first, but honestly, I used to fish Gedney island and some of the depths to get there were well over 600 feet or so. It is kind of creepy, but I never had an issue.

great video and wow.!! i'm thinking i should try kayaking sometime, i have been looking at kayaks.. i give you joe, cody, colton, rich and brandon Jordan a shout out on my community tab a few days ago.. i enjoy you all videos and channel.!!
The kayak is cool buy my concern is that folding rigid plastic on a seam comes with a limited lifespan. It is just the nature of the material. Unless they’ve developed and stress tested some kind of proprietary material I’m very skeptical of the longevity of that design.
You should mention the brand names if you don't want to tell the price. Our area has no lakes, so try to provide products suitable for seas, lakes, rivers, etc.
The last item. Why not put a wireless transducer in the boat with an app on your phone to use as the fish finder screen so you know where to drop the bait? I had a provisional patent on the RC boat, wireless fish finder idea 10 years ago hoping that I could get enough funds to build a prototype and get the patent on the idea. Sadly it never happened. I first thought of the idea in 1997.
The only problem with a Franken anything, is you end up with a lot of mediocre things, instead of one great thing. The hand off can be worth it though.
There is a big push from the fishing industry as a whole, for everyone to get in to a pedal kayak or something close to it. I have to say I’m not on board and have to say I love my xpress x23 bay lounge. Real boats still have a place.
big push? its just becoming more popular as more people are wanting to get outside. no one is pushing you to get one . but they are nice to have. i have a boat and kayak so im neither sided

all that shiet is waste of money. if you're going put an engine like a honda 2 or 5 hp on a watercraft like a kayak type or inflatable. Get Jon or gregor aluminum fishing boat. If you're going to do 1 person personal fishing kayak.. get a Foot pedal Drive kayak.. done deal.. Only thing I would see cool being built To sell to fishing folks is Something like a Minnkota Riptide Trolling motor mount onto a kayak steering rear Rudder for a foot pedal drive kayak.. to reduce the weight of trolling motor/battery on a fishing kayak and have a multi -purpose kayak where you can foot pedal, hand pedal, and use the trolling motor. something similar to a bixpy but cheaper in price!
Hey, I know what you mean. It gets worse because many of the kayaks have a "maximum capacity", but the weight of the kayak itself takes away from the maximum capacity. For instance a 500 "max capacity" kayak that weighs 150 pounds can really only carry 350 pounds. The Old Town Sportsman 136 has a pretty good capacity as does the Hammerhead Whale Shark
I have both, the inflatable is much more durable, bounces off things, doesn't get scratched or scratch other boats I come up next too. I'm constantly worried about scratching/gouging my fiberglass one.
So many of these companies are capitalizing on WASTE. Nothing is reusable and easily losable. Rubber inflatable? A camera attached to a line? The only thing that I think is pretty legit is the foldable kayak, thats truly portable.
I wouldn't fish out of any these boats unless on a river, with our fishing its mainly salt water and where i live in South Australia we have big White sharks and thise would not make me feel safe at all lol
I live in Florida where, thanks to dumbass people importing exotic animals, we have Nile Crocodiles. You’d have to have a death wish to be using inflatable kayaks, boats, and paddle boards here.
Sit on top kayak style fishing boats are not a good idea. In waters with dangerous situations like weather, currents, sharks, they are unstable especially when fidgeting around with fishing gear and catch . There’s nothing better than a classic sit in boat suited for the specific waters.

Yeah, some kayaks and paddlbaords cost more than boats. People call them micro skiff, which is in between a kayak and a boat

How would one of those inflatable skiff boards hold up to a hook or a toothy fish.
