    PLEASE keep an eye on your new cat's heart. Maine coons have been bred into having a heart condition that shows up around age 2. I adopted a kitten and when he was 2 he started to breathe funny. I went to the doctor and then a specialist who put him on tablets. Three weeks later I came home from work to find him lying paralyzed on the floor screaming in pain. I rushed him to the vet
    but there was nothing they could do because he had thrown a major blood clot due to his heart condition. That was over 20 years ago and I will never forget the pain and fear in his voice and eyes. Still gives me nightmares.

    I remember when Mrs. HGP didn’t even want to be videoed. She’s absolutely beautiful and such an asset to your business. I’m glad she’s showing up more in your videos. There’s a saying, “Behind every successful man is a woman.” Some might find that offensive but I think the saying means that there’s a supportive spouse who does a lot to run her house in a way that her husband can focus on success. I’m probably far from being that type of woman but I hope I keep improving. Love you all sharing your lives with us. God bless!

    • @Direness
      @Direness Год назад +8

      I don't think it's offensive, I think it clearly shows that it's easier to be successful with a supportive spouse doing a lot of the behind the scenes work that enables a family & business to do well. Women tend to take on a lot of managerial, administrative, physical, and emotional household work. My grandfather ran a successful farm, because my grandmother was doing the accounting books, expenses, taxes, cooking, cleaning, and so many other tasks that enabled the farm to run efficiently and let my grandfather focus on the animal husbandry & crops. Hers was a full time job. They made a great team, shoring up each other's weaknesses, and I miss them.

    • @AKindOfDog

    I love Scottish humor. One old one from Cape Breton in Canada goes.
    A man came home for the first time in ten years after living in Toronto since he was a young man and stopped in at the general store to pick up a few things. An older fellow recognized him even after being gone so long and started chatting with him in Gaelic. He understood but had to respond in English. After a bit of this back and forth the old fellow got frustrated and said to him "what's the matter lad, have ya lost your proper tongue"
    To which he responds " well, I understand you well enough, I just can't speak it back to you"
    "Ah yes" the old man nods understandingly "I have a dog at home that's the same"

    A lovely video, as usual and a happy cow! Thank you so much! I'm thrilled to hear that you're getting a new KVK because even though I'm so far away from hoof trimming (I'm a retired writing professor), the cows always seem more comfortable in that crush than the previous ones you've had (or at least from what I can see.) And you seem very happy with the KVK too, so win/win! Love (love!!!) your videos! ❤

    It's always amazing to see how something that looks so small and minor can actually turn out to be a bigger issue than first thought (that hole initially looked so small but the stones had still made their way in and caused a bigger issue. Even better that you managed to help ease her pain 💖)

    When you said to think about how painful it would be to have stones in the bed of your foot, got me thinking. I managed to break a bone for the first time in my 41 years, it was my ankle but I didn't break just 1 of the bones in my ankle I broke all 3 of them. The 2 side bones and the back bone of my ankle in one very short fall. It got me thinking this has been the most painful thing I have ever done so far, I'm guessing having stones trapped in your foot would be much more painful.

    I LOVE that you call your wife Mrs. HGP! It simultaneously lets people know that you’re married and devoted to her. Plus the fact that you include her human name (Ashley/Ashleigh) shows that you respect her individuality.
    You’re a good man! Busy, but dedicated to your family. Keep in mind the balance of family/provider. They’d prefer your time than the $$$. From what is portrayed on media; it appears that all is well balanced. Just remember to check in with Ashleigh for a balance check.

Always watching your program but the funniest was to find my brother from Edmonton Alberta watching the same program when we were in Toronto to celebrate our mother’s 80th birthday. I’m from northern Ontario so we had quite a laugh it is for sure that our growing up on a dairy farm still follows us. I have been a nurse for 35 years now and the youngest of our family. Our roots sure follow us. Quite a hoot to find you are both our favourite RUclipsr. So enjoy your job and your family. Love from the two of us Canadian
