    Simple but effective 👌
    And that guitar tone,yes that tone which no one could replicate at the time,and influenced all extreme bands after.

      I agree, there should be more. As well as, D beat and crust punk in general. Thanks for watching. I’ll tell you a great band to check out if you’ve never heard them. They’re called sacrilege. Scroll through my playlist and you’ll find I did a play through of one of their songs. They also deserve way more attention.

    The purest in me is screaming that you're not playing downstrokes on the muted part, but the rational person knows it doesn't matter.

    • @Yourguitarchannelsucks

      Trust me I get it. When I was young in the 80’s, I played that way as well . However, I did see a modern video of Discharge and the current guitarist wasn’t even doing down strokes the whole time.
      And to be fair, I was just trying to make a video to encourage beginners to pick up a guitar and start playing. I wasn’t really trying to do a deep dive into cloning their techniques or anything. I just thought it was a great song for a beginner to learn verses say smoke on the water.

    I saw quite a few early Discharge gigs and they were great but after Decontrol 45 they went nowhere musically.

      That’s awesome that you got to see them live so long ago, that must have been really cool. I enjoy lots of their music and I’m glad they exist. I truly believe their influence on various forms of aggressive music was vital. They made a new album back in 2016 that wasn’t bad at all.

    Thought it was all down strokes

    • @Yourguitarchannelsucks
      @Yourguitarchannelsucks  4 месяца назад +2

      You can play it either way you want. I saw a live video of Discharge from 5 years ago and the guitarist was using both alternating and downstroke picking. So honestly it really doesn’t matter. If you want to play it with only downstrokes then play it that way. It’s very simple music and it really doesn’t matter. You can also play it in various tunings and keys.

    I scrubbed through kinda fast. Did you mention drop tuning at any point? Do some Doom

    • @Yourguitarchannelsucks
      @Yourguitarchannelsucks  9 месяцев назад

      I didn’t mention it.
      I will eventually do some doom. I have planned on it for a while. I plan on doing some really old Cathedral at some point.
      Thanks for watching! 🤘

    How to play the solo ?

    • @Yourguitarchannelsucks
      @Yourguitarchannelsucks  5 месяцев назад

      I was only trying to make a beginner level video. As far as the rhythm goes you can play it either alternate picking, or straight down picking. You can also play this song differently and in different tunings and still maintain the gist of the song. For example, check out the drop C# cover version “Anthrax - Protest and Survive.” You can also see the tablature for everything they are doing including the solo at “songster.” What’s great about looking at this version is at Songster you can slow down the measures and learn each part at your own speed. It also includes the rhythm and lead sections.
      Another method is take the original song and slow it down with software and learn the solo at a much slower speed by ear.

    This song (just like State Violence State Control) shall be played with only downstrokes just like Discharge plays it. I've seen them live several times since early 80's and there's no cheating alternate picking involved. 😉 This is punkrock, not metal. Take a look at Ramones, all downstrokes. 🔥

    • @Yourguitarchannelsucks
      @Yourguitarchannelsucks  7 месяцев назад +1

      That’s great information thanks for sharing. I’m honestly not surprised they played it in down strokes. A vast amount of early Metal and Punk are played with down strokes. I can play it that way as well. Thanks for the comment.🤘

    I think he's showing the wrong chords.
    It sounds like the second part has inverted power chords lower on the neck.
    His version sounds weak.

    • @Yourguitarchannelsucks
      @Yourguitarchannelsucks  8 месяцев назад +1

      It’s entirely possible I’m playing the wrong chords, but I know I’m playing the correct notes. At any rate, If you want it to sound heavier, tune down to D standard and use the low D for all the D notes. I don’t think they’re playing “inverted chords”, I assume you mean thirds. I also think the reason they sound so heavy is because of their bass player, not their guitarist. But who knows I could be totally wrong.
