    Great lesson Shane these techniques aren’t really shown anywhere else so to be able too learn from you and put them in my own riffs are amazing keep up the fantastic work mate🤘🤘🤘

      Awesome you found the lesson valuable. This was a very unplanned, unscripted video sharing an idea I was riffing on after work.

    That slide & tremolo picking technique is very deathgrind. Cool video. Your lessons have been a great help

    Interesting lesson.
    I find grindcore often has shorter riffs than metal. Even if they're just as heavy, they tend to be more like punk riffs in that regard.

      I agree, definitely more barebones and no leads, I find the tone is another important aspect.

    Another fun thing to try instead of sliding is hammering on to the next fret with your middle finger while still holding the power chord so it gives you a quick tritone instead of a slide for even more texture and evilness! I think I saw Matt pike do this I cant remember now haha. Excellent lesson as always! You're an inspiration!

    i find that things get a lot easier if you wuss out a bit and use drop tuning. the sliding is less cumbersome and you can wail out more. im composing my album entirely on a 7-string tuned to Drop A personally

      Thanks for the suggestion I’ll give it a try, it’s definitely a struggle to pick with the ferocity of grindcore for me

    I swear grindcore is harder to play than DM

    • @DUNN..
      @DUNN..  9 месяцев назад +4

      It’s definitely not easy, that’s why I conveyed my novice approach to it and only focused on one aspect I could decipher . The picking speed of the opened strumming is the part I struggle with the most.

      As somebody who came from playing Grindcore I can confirm it is harder to play than death metal. I think you captured some key points of the style! Great job
