Not sure how to say this; I love you. Not in a romantic sense but just your personality. Watching your videos has convinced me I DON'T want to set up an Etsy shop & drive traffic; I spent over 40 years working in production mode ( in IT support) and don't want to repeat it with wire jewelry. I do love, however, your personality & the way you communicate the ideas you're trying to convey.
I must admit, if it weren't for my website I think I'd be the same with Etsy. It's only because the handmade, more creative stuff seems to do so much better there that I haven't fallen into production mode and can let Etsy tick over with the lower ticket, handmade supplies I sell. It was my dream to start a RUclips channel for many years & I finally realised this dream back in Q4 2020. My channel was not an overnight success 🤣 nothing has gone "viral" and it is definitely the long game. It took a hot minute to get monetised and even now I spend more on the products I review in my videos & to my video editor (I know I am so bouji 🤩) than I get back. However, the JOY I get from realising my dream has no price! I make my videos for my target audience- which is basically me but without the "know-how" I am sharing 💜

I have to do videos at work, when customers cant or dont want so see a proposed system/machine(s) to solve their problems.. it takes me so long, when i first started this job i thought videos were much easier than a Live test because things go wrong.. but with videos.. i record the same thing over and over but my own narration annoys me 😂 i do like experimenting so ive been using KdenLive.. hopefully this will help me later with Etsy but im really struggling to think of how to make a video that relates my store to the content.. my other hobby is metal detecting.. because i like the views and fresh air.. oh.. and gold 😁 but you have given me a good idea 👍🏼 i mostly engrave and 3D print.. was planning on making detecting vids but i think i should be including 3D printing and designing in that thought process.. 🤔
So those videos are viewable if you join the membership for that channel with the join button. Patreon usually has its own content separate to RUclips. Though it really depends on the creator and what or where they choose to post.
Those videos are extra videos I make for the members to say thank you and I also repost them on Patreon too, for the same reason. I started the membership as sometimes I get asked how someone can support me without buying anything so I made the membership as a recurring 'tip jar'. But then I felt that the members needed something to thank them for that support, hence the extra videos. 😊💚
After 18 days with etsy ads at $1 a day , i spend $15. I sold a few items, but i cannot tell if it comes from etsy ads or not. It increases visibility, but people have a hard time to buy. The good thing is i raised my prices. Lowering prices didn't help at all.
I tried Etsy ads for 2 weeks but it was only for the search word data.. I then sacked off Etsy ads and opted for a 7 quid subscription with eRank.. which is very useful.. have you tried it? It has nice features when you link it to your Etsy shop.. you get a decent overview, reports showing where you could add and improve.. I thought I'd only have it for one month but I'm on my 4th payment.. I like the keywords searching tool..
You should be able to see in the analytics if any of your sales came through your ads? It may not be in the same place though, but I'm sure it's there somewhere unless they've recently changed everything again. It's been a long while since I tried ads and I found it drive a lot more traffic, but not enough in sales to make them worth the money.
