I honestly can't remember what was played, or if anything was played upon entering my wedding reception. Of course, that was over 26 years ago and I had open heart surgery almost 8 years ago. My memory is shot! But... I DO remember our wedding night! Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, Hot!
+David Lake Totally agree...ive loved every note Boston ever played & the whole concept of this album as the continuation to the first two is beyond comparison in Rock history
In 1983 my best man and I got up at 2:am and headed to Edwards Air Force Base to see Columbia land. We heard the sonic booms and then saw it appear as the Sun was rising. Due to the sun just coming up, all of the white on the Shuttle was orange. We then scedaddled to Cal State Northridge to get to our Thermodynamics class. We were late. The Professor, Dr. Sidney Schwartz called us on the carper and said he was glad we joined but asked why we were late. We told him we had just came back from seeing the Space Shuttle land. We instantly turned into heroes as he was one of the lead Engineers in designing the Space Shuttle Engines..... We totally hijacked the class for that day.Amazing technology and dedication from all involved in the Program.....
The day. I got. Out of lompoc. Something glowed over ca. Two days first. Other planet chem warfare attack. From heroin dealers. Jailing there scientists. Army. Doper eight. Alien warfare. We know. What. Other country's kids low balled
I absolutely love Cool The Engines by Boston. This song reminds me when my deceased husband and I were dating. We always had fun together . I love and miss you. Happy Birthday on the 26th of July. He would have been 50.
They are one of the all time best bands, and I'll always love there music, this is my wife's you tube I'm john she passed away more then a year ago but bostons love songs always makes me think of her, rock on my love Robyn Ann Weinrib where ever you are now I'll be there one day and then will be together again this time forever ♥.
I have been waiting for a video like this with this song. It fits so perfectly together. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, THIS IS MUSIC. REAL MUSIC.
What a great time when this band was in the limelight. Great music to go cruising on a Saturday night. Got the window down finding out where the party is. We did it right.

My dad was the communications expert for NASA and when comms were having issues and he got called in to a discovery launch, that was the first time something I saw gave me chills head to toe. Mission control was magic to me.
I was doing a lot of Coke back when this album came out. The more i heard this song i totally thought of my Coke abuse and thought that it was talking to me about slowing my "engine"(heart) down. I became drug free ever since. Thank you Boston!!
I remember when this dropped. Was just giddy with anticipation after so long without an album. And hearing this the first time was just incredible and worth the wait. From what I remember this song was written and recorded back in the day and had been relegated to a storage room somewhere on a deteriorating reel to reel and was almost lost to time so parts that wouldn't play had to be rewritten to complete the song. BRAVO!!
I used to play the launch solo (0:58) as hard as possible during my studying days in a frat house where anything was possible, nowadays I live in a quiet neighbourhood which restrains me significantly. Looking forward to move out and dust off and assemble the high end sound system I still have stored carefully. Boston is simply the best.
The Launch literally feels like it's taking you into space, even without a video like this. A mind-blowing piece of music, made even more sentimental because I first heard it just a few months after the Challenger accident.
Excellent video in direct relation to such an AWESOME track!!! I used to get adrenaline rushes from watching Space Shuttle launches, also, as a growing child in the early Eighties and then as a teen in mid-Eighties... And I owned this album (Third Stage) on both LP & cassette tape in 1986!!!!
I remember the first time I heard the first lick of Boston on the radio. Nobody warned me because nobody was really talking about them yet, and this sound was so new and unique and so well recorded. Instant hook, these guys. And then to find the entire album was good too. One of the best values in vinyl back in the day. I have been deeply entertained by this group ever since.
The part from 2:55-3:11...dam, I could watch that 100 times, and it would never get old. As Atlantis is cracking through the sound barrier with a blasting guitar, it gives the image of a guy with a mullet at the controls, hammering the throttle and screaming, "Let's see what this baby can do!!" 3:10 -"See ya!" You timed that perfectly. Good show!
To the uploader: I think the same thing here... looking at the album covers that the band has and the song titles that they have to go along with it and listening to the songs it all does make me think of space too. The music is just something I could imagine to be playing in the cosmos in some space shuttle as the shuttle and it's crew drift around in space looking at everything out there... that is the beauty of space. It really is the 'final frontier' as they say and every nation needs to have their space program because eventually we will have to colonize on another planet and when we do Boston will be some of the music that I will be playing when I'm ready to go colonize with our fellow human beings. That said: Boston has much special meaning behind them... space and the very concept of owning and operating a starship has been one of my passionate interests for awhile now. ... Sorry for the walls of text people... I just love this band and space.
Absolutely beautiful. As a species and as a society and as human beings we need to slow down and cool the engines. Some of us are working way too hard, it's probably the majority of us not some of us... we are being pushed way too hard. Things just need to slow down. We have to somehow simplify things. Thank you for creating this video. Boston is absolutely my favorite band.
I remember listening to "The Launch" through a Carver C-9 Sonic Hologram Generator and M1.0t amp into a set of Klipsch Forte III speakers. Just about shook the damned house off the foundation...

to see this done on concert was phenomenal, they assembled the Wurlitzer during the show then did the launch on it, had all the sounds of NASA including the countdown for starship BOSTON, I brought my mom to see it one of the greatest shows I ever saw, was the first farewell tour.
This, sir, is fucking amazing. The first time I heard this song, I was 10 years old on vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, sitting on the porch of the house my family had rented, listening to my music as the sun rose. It was a truly spiritual experience that spawned a love for the seemingly eternal optimism that exists in good music and the way that optimism pushes us to explore without fear. This is like a reel of my childhood, and I thank for providing such intoxicating nostalgia.
At 58, 59.. Whatever TF I am. One of the biggest regrets in this life is to have been too "otherwise occupied" to make the trek from NC to Fla to personally witness one of these crescendos of our accomplishment. Look at us now. BWP on a slickery slope to Idiocrcy... I got mine.. d;^)

Dig that theatre organ run thru a Rockman in "The Launch". And what a tribute to the last and greatest Space Shuttle, Atlantis. Thanks man, and great film editing.
I have to say, this is one of the BEST videos I have ever seen! I was fortunate enough to live through the space era. My guess is you are too young to remember any of this. I watched the moon landing on tv along with the rest of the world. Time STOPPED. My heart still skips a beat when I see the footage of the rockets and NASA channel of our planet. I never thought I would live to see the government stop and close down our space program. It makes my heart hurt just thinking. It was a magical time to live in. Now at 63 yrs, I can remember it all like it waS YESTERDAY. You have done a wonderful job with this video. I have watched it three times in a row. Thank you.
I have this on LP and CD. As we all know, when we got the CD format all the wonderful artwork that was often on the larger LP canvas was lost or miniaturized to such a degree that many times it became irrelevant. On the inside cover of this LP is a picture of the organ used in this song. I remember reading or hearing that this organ is the largest pipe organ in the world and is in the city of Boston. It has an unbelievable sound.
My late Father in Law was an Aerospace engineer. Was the type of guy that showed up at Stanford and took the entrance exam and smoked it. Attained a Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering.

Some people are just miserable and unhappy. That's the only way you could dislike this.
If you're from the old days, then you love Boston. What your listening to is pure rock and roll
By far one of my dad's favorite bands from his youth. I grew up listening to him rattle the house with boston. I still love this music.

Well didn't expect such a majestic video...wow!
THE very best song Boston ever made! Back when they had amazing vocals and real drums!
One of the greatest songs to have ever been created.
Saw them in concert in 1988 for this Album and it was F-ing Amazing!!! RIP Brad Delp 1951-2007 We miss your voice So Much!!!
My best friend and I were also at the Houston stop for this concert. I never saw so many women with their teenage kids in one place.😄
Best and loudest concert ever been to 😊
Seen this concert, walk on, them big organ tubes rising up behind the drum was kool
Emphatic THUMBS DOWN to every person who separates this great piece of music as two separate songs on RUclips. They should be ashamed!
How anyone can separate them is beyond my comprehension
